Abstract

Penelitian tentang Aspek Biologi Teripang Parean (Holothuria hilla) bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan panjang berat, indeks kematangan gonad (IKG), tingkat kematangan gonad (TKG), fekunditas, dan ukuran biologi minimum di Perairan Jepara. Penelitian ini dilakukan dari bulan Agustus 2023 hingga Oktober 2023. Lokasi penelitian dibagi menjadi dua Lokasi yaitu, Kelompok Usaha Bersama (KUB) Berkah Samudera dan nelayan Ujungbatu. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode random sampling dengan melakukan pengukuran Teripang Parean pada dua Lokasi tersebut sebanyak 1000 ekor. Berdasarkan 1000 ekor sampel Teripang Parean tersebut dilakukan pengukuran panjang bobot, selanjutnya teripang dibedah menggunakan pisau untuk mengetahui Tingkat kematangan gonad maupun pengukuran berat gonad untuk mengetahui indeks kematangan gonad. Kemudian dipisahkan 40 ekor Teripang Parean betina yang termasuk dalam TKG IV dan TKG V untuk perhitungan fekunditasnya, Data hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Teripang Parean yang tertangkap di Perairan Jepara mempunyai pola pertumbuhan allometrik negatif yaitu pertambahan panjang lebih cepat dari pertambahan bobot, tingkat kematangan gonad (TKG) rata-rata adalah TKG I, panjang rata-rata adalah 14 - 15 cm dan bobot rata-rata adalah 50,5 gram; rata-rata fekunditasnya adalah 4.506 - 12.917  butir telur.

Abstract

Daerah penangkapan ikan di perairan Laut Jawa dan Selat Makassar merupakan daerah tangkapan yang penting bagi nelayan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis proses penentuan Daerah Penangkapan Ikan (DPI), menjelaskan hasil observasi suhu dan salinitas perairan di setiap DPI yang telah ditentukan, serta mengidentifikasi jenis hasil tangkapan, dengan menggunakan Kapal Motor (KM) Tirta Putra Kencana I (alat tangkap purse seine). Penelitian ini dilakukan di perairan Laut Jawa dan di Selat Makasar, mulai dari bulan Desember tahun 2022 hingga bulan April 2023. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah observasi langsung dan dianalisis menggunakan analisis deskriptif. Data primer diperoleh melalui observasi langsung di lapangan, termasuk kegiatan penentuan DPI dan pengukuran suhu, serta salinitas di setiap lokasi DPI. Penentuan DPI dilakukan dengan mempertimbangkan beberapa syarat, seperti wilayah perizinan penangkapan ikan, ketidakgangguan terhadap pelayaran niaga, kondisi perairan yang aman, dan minim pengaruh cuaca buruk pada daerah tersebut. Hasil pengukuran suhu dan salinitas menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata perairan Laut Jawa dan Selat Makassar memiliki karakteristik yang serupa. Namun, DPI yang berdekatan dengan daratan menunjukkan suhu yang lebih rendah dan kadar salinitas yang lebih tinggi. Jenis hasil tangkapan didominasi oleh ikan layang (Decapterus macrosoma dan Decapterus russelli) yang mendiami perairan laut lepas, diikuti oleh ikan siro (Sardinella sp.) yang ditemui di wilayah pantai. Komoditas ikan pelagis besar lebih cenderung tertangkap di wilayah penangkapan di sebelah barat.

Abstract

Kabupaten Pati terletak di pesisir utara Pulau Jawa, pantainya berlumpur dan sebagian wilayah ditumbuhi mangrove. Dari tahun ke tahun, hutan mangrove di Kabupaten Pati di beberapa kecamatan mengalami penurunan kuantitas. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis vegetasi ekosistem mangrove berdasarkan faktor lingkungan perairan di Kabupaten Pati, Jawa Tengah untuk mengetahui kondisi dan struktur komunitas mangrove daerah tersebut. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dari 21 Agustus sampai dengan 12 Oktober. Pengumpulan data yang dilakukan dengan metode observatif. Pengambilan data mangrove menggunakan metode Line Transect Plot. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian didapatkan lima jenis mangrove yaitu Avicennia marina, Rhizophora mucronata, Acanthus ilicifolius, Excoecaria agallocha, dan Sonneratia caseolaris. kerapatan jenis pohon dan semai mangrove >1500 tergolong sangat rapat serta pancang tergolong rendah-sangat rapat, frekuensi jenis pohon tertinggi ialah Avicennia marina dengan nilai 1, tutupan jenis pohon berkisar  0,292%/m2-0,623%/m2 dan INP tingkat  pohon terbesar ialah spesies Avicennia marina berkisar 246,1%-300%. Indeks biologi menunjukkan keanekaragaman mangrove stasiun penelitian berkategori rendah, keseragaman rendah-sedang, dan dominansi berkategori tinggi. Kualitas fisika dan kimia yang diukur pada tiap stasiun penelitian dikategorikan normal. Terdapat 6 spesies biota yang ditemukan yang berasosiasi yaitu Boleophthalmus boddarti, Boleophthalmus pectinirostris, Scylla serrata, Telescopium telescopium, Cerithidea cingulate dan Ellobium aurisjudae. Dari hasil penelitian tersebut, maka hutan mangrove Kabupaten Pati perlu dijaga dan dilakukan upaya-upaya dalam pelestariannya.

Abstract

Estuaries and coastal waters are heavily influenced by anthropogenic activities and environmental factors, which can lead to ecosystem degradation, increased nutrients, and the risk of eutrophication. Kendari Bay, with its complex hydrodynamic conditions and various human activities in the vicinity, requires an analysis of the distribution of nutrients and chlorophyll-a (chl-a) to estimate the potential for eutrophication and its impact on aquatic ecosystems. This research was conducted in March-May 2023 at six stations in Kendari Bay. The distribution of nutrients in Kendari Bay revealed a varied pattern, with DIN concentrations higher in the “neck area” or narrow parts of the bay, phosphates more concentrated in the inner part due to slow water flow, and silica more abundant in estuaries because it comes from weathering rocks carried by river flows. Chl-a concentration tended to correspond DIN pattern, suggesting that phytoplankton growth was more influenced by nitrogen nutrients than phosphorus nutrients, as supported by an N:P ratio of less than 16. Overall, Kendari Bay was classified as mesotrophic with a relatively uniform trophic level due to morphological and hydrodynamic characteristics that narrow towards the sea and a low flushing rate. A comprehensive approach to managing human activities from upstream to downstream must be performed effectively to protect the bay area from eutrophication and environmental decline due to excessive nutrient runoff from land-based activities.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the persistence of lemuru management in the waters of the Bali Strait from social and economic perspectives. The methodology involves observations and interviews. Data utilized are based on direct observations and interviews with fishermen in the Pengambengan village. Fishermen interviewed were randomly selected and considered to represent the total lemuru catch using purse seines. Data were analyzed using Monte Carlo analysis with the RAPFISH method to determine which behaviors impact each social and economic factor. RAPFISH ordination results in the economic domain showed an index of 48,36, while in the social dimension, it had an index value of 44,48. These index results indicate that lemuru fisheries management for both economic and social dimensions is deemed less sustainable. Key words: lemuru, fisheries management, PPN Pengambengan

Abstract

Purse seine is a type of fishing gear that has the principle of catching fish by circling a school of fish. Fish caught by purse seine include lemuru, skipjack, and tuna (pelagic fish), which have economic value. One area where the majority of fishermen use purse seines is PPS Kendari. The more fishermen use the purse seine, the more it will affect the income or feasibility of the fishing business. The feasibility status of the business can be identified by conducting a business analysis of the fishing activity. Business analysis begins with participating in a trip to one of the purse seine fishing activities at PPS Kendari in January-May 2020. Carry out business-related recording activities (business capital, maintenance, and income). After the data is obtained, a business analysis will be carried out on the profit value, profit sharing system, R/C ratio, and payback period (PP). Based on the business analysis that has been done, the total cost of fishing activities is Rp. 212,716,600.00, and the company made a profit of Rp. 1,074,353,400.00. profit-sharing system, with each share amounting to Rp. 20,270,818.87. So, it can be said that fishing using purse seines at PPS Kendari is still feasible, with a value of 6.05 and a PP of 0.61 years.

Abstract

Squid is one of the non-fish resources that have economic value and is a target species in demersal fisheries activities with squid fishing gear and stick-held deep net. This research aims to determine the biological aspects of squid (Loligo edulis) such as length frequency distribution, length-weight relationship, sex ratio, gonadal maturity level, gonadal maturity index, size at first caught, and size at first maturity of the gonads. The method used in this research was a descriptive survey. The sample collection method used systematic random sampling and purposive sampling techniques. This observation was carried out on March 7 to July 30, 2022, at the Belawan Ocean Fishing Port and Tanjung Balai Port. The results showed that the average length distribution of squid was 17.73 cm. The relationship between the length and weight of squid is negative allometric. The sex ratio is 1:1.05. The negative allometric growth pattern is dominated by Gonadal Maturity Level (GML) I and GML II. The highest GML value for male squid was 2.06% at GML III, and the highest GML value for female squid was 1.92% at GML III. The average size of the caught squid length (Lc) is 10.42 cm.
