Abstract

The resistance of public institutions to share and disseminate public information, and the limited authority of the Public Information Commission of West Kalimantan, may cause the lack of transparency of public institution. To overcome it, innovative efforts and active involvement of many stakeholders including civil society organizations are needed. In 2017-2018, many innovative products to overcome the lack of transparency of public institutions were produced by Public Information Commission of West Kalimantan and local civil society organizations. In the same year, the local government was awarded as the most transparent provincial government. The main question is how the collaboration between the Public Information Commission of West Kalimantan and local civil society organizations can be maintained to be sustainable, because each actor has the same purposes. The research purposes are to identify the needs for collaboration and the opportunity for sustainable collaboration. The results showed that the opportunity is possible with some requirements to build and maintain sustainable collaboration.

Abstract

There has been a consistent decline in rice production in Kubu Raya since 2021, despite previously being a prominent player in provincial-level rice production. This research aims to identify the reasons for the decrease in rice farming productivity and how the local government is responding to this situation. The method used is a mixed-method approach. Quantitative analysis employs Location Quotient, Dynamic Location Quotient, and Shift Share to identify leading sectors, sectors with potential for growth, and regional economic shifts. Since these analytical tools are unable to explain the decline in rice farming productivity, a qualitative approach was also employed, including interviews, focus group discussions (FGD), and document studies. The results indicate that the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sector is not a leading sector, nor a potential one to be promoted in Kubu Raya Regency. Several factors contributing to the stagnation in rice growth are (1) the extensive peatland, (2) land conversion, (3) climate change, (4) low farmer income, and (5) a limited number of productive farmers. Nevertheless, the local government continues to make maximum efforts to promote agricultural growth in Kubu Raya Regency, despite several policies failing to stimulate rice farming growth.

Abstract

Training is an important tool for career development. By acquiring new skills and knowledge, individuals can increase their chances of getting a job, getting promoted, or getting a promotion. Training leads to new career opportunities and can help achieve long-term goals. Community service was carried out by the PPM Team from the Department of Business Administration with the theme "Development of Alumni Skills Through 4-Star Hotel Administration and Service Training at Mercure Pontianak". A possible solution to the problem is to offer advanced training or professional development for alumni to improve their skills in administration and service. Abstract

The digital economy encompasses online business transactions, electronic commerce, digital services, and the digital creative industry, offering opportunities for growth, innovation, and efficiency while also challenging privacy, data security, and the digital divide. Alumni have significant potential in the digital business world, with access to education, experience, and extensive networks. Some findings suggest that electronic money positively impacts economic growth, but legal protection challenges remain, such as consumer data breaches and the need for regulation. The PKM team provides outreach to alumni and active students on legal developments in digital business. Lectures and training methods are used to impart understanding of legality and legal protection in digital business. This outreach successfully enhances participants' understanding of legal aspects, such as business identification numbers (NIB), business permits, tax obligations, trademark registration, copyright, product regulations, and intellectual property protection to avoid legal risks and enhance their business reputation.

Abstract

In general, research methodology is divided into quantitative and qualitative methods where quantitative is usually used in exact science studies such as engineering and business, while qualitative is for social humanities studies such as social politics. So that not all higher education students master these two methodologies. This training is specifically designed to provide an understanding of one of the popular research methods, namely the quantitative method related to the use of the SPSS application, especially for students in Pontianak City. Community Service (PPM) is carried out with the aim of being part of increasing the capacity of students in the city of Pontianak regarding understanding the application of SPSS statistics so that it can be better and beneficial for the smooth running of their studies. This activity was held in collaboration with Statistics Indonesia West Kalimantan on July 23 2022 which was attended by approximately 30 participants. Based on the results of the implementation of the PPM activities, it was concluded that with the training activities on the use of this Statistical Application, from the results of observations and observations, students began to open their minds to later try to use Quantitative data processing methods with this SPSS Statistical application. This picture can be seen from the enthusiasm of the participants in carrying out the activity.
