Abstract

This research aims to develop a scheduled, efficient, and optimal Internet of Things (IoT)-based feeding system for broiler chickens. In an effort to improve efficiency and sustainability in poultry farming, a technology-based approach becomes crucial. Currently, the use of farm monitoring systems is generally conventional or manual, and human labor involvement incurs significant costs. In the era of Society 5.0, innovative solutions that leverage cutting-edge technology are needed to enhance productivity and sustainability in farming. This study adopts a prototype development method with sorting algorithms to develop an efficient and scheduled feeding system for broiler chickens. The system consists of automation devices capable of regulating chicken feed volumes and implementing regular scheduling. Furthermore, the system utilizes Internet of Things (IoT) technology, enabling remote control and real-time monitoring through an Android application. With this system in place, farmers can efficiently monitor and regulate chicken feeding without the need to be physically present at the farm location. Additionally, the use of sorting algorithms allows for the even distribution of feed, reducing waste and maximizing feed utilization. The development of this IoT-based feeding system for broiler chickens is expected to enhance efficiency and sustainability in poultry farming while making a positive contribution to meeting the future high demand for chicken meat.

Abstract

A This study aims to develop an automated cleaning system for chicken coops using Internet of Things (IoT) technology. The system utilizes IoT technology to monitor and control the condition of the coop in real-time and provide notifications to the farmer through a mobile application. The main specifications of the system include scheduled feeding, system status monitoring, alarm notifications, and database communication. The system utilizes Arduino Mega 2560 + Wi-Fi built in Esp8266 as the microcontroller, in case of any discrepancies in the system status, such as low food or water capacity, the system triggers alarms or sends notifications to the mobile application. Additionally, the system operates continuously for 24 hours and maintains communication with the database to ensure up-to-date information. It also features an automated cleaning function that can schedule regular cleaning of the coop using water. The farmer can control the cleaning process through buttons located near the coop. During the system verification, the scheduled Cleaning, status alert feature, system uptime, communication between the system and the database, and automated cleaning functionality were tested and verified according to the specified requirements. This research provides a practical and efficient solution for managing broiler chicken coops. The system allows real-time monitoring of coop conditions, improves cleaning efficiency, and enhances coop cleanliness. Implementing this system can boost farm productivity and facilitate overall coop management.

Abstract

Feeding is influential for the survival of fish in the aquarium environment. Until now, most people do manual feeding. With manual feeding, the aquarium owner often forgets to feed the fish in the aquarium, whether it's too little or too much, both in terms of scale or timing of the feeding. In addition, if the aquarium owner is doing activities outside the home, the fish will not get food. This study adopts descriptive and casual methods. The first one is used to describe the system concept and the system design plan used. This fish-feeding system with NodeMCU ESP8266 based on the Internet of Things (IoT) can be implemented to control the feeding of fish in an aquarium environment. The purpose of this automatic feeding system is to ensure that the feed given to the fish in the aquarium is evenly distributed. Feeding the fish unevenly will cause the aquarium water to become cloudy. Turbid water can cause the ornamental fish in it to die besides being unpleasant to look at. Based on the results of testing the accuracy of the distance between the ruler and the ultrasonic sensor 5 times, an average error of 1.795% was found. In other words, the success of the ultrasonic sensor in detecting the distance of objects (fish) is 98.205%.

Abstract

In this research, an Android application was developed using the React Native framework, integrated with Firebase, and the Arduino Mega 2560 microcontroller with built-in Wi-Fi to control and monitor the automated, scheduled, and real-time feeding and cleaning processes for chicken waste. This setup allows the utilization of an ultrasonic sensor to detect feed capacity and real-time scheduling. Additionally, a servo motor is used to automate the feeding system. The application enables farmers to monitor the feeding schedule adherence. Therefore, features such as feed system monitoring, alarm system, automatic cleaning system, and system status monitoring are included in this application. The test results demonstrate that this Android application functions well and provides accurate information to farmers. Users can remotely control the system, monitor the system's condition, and efficiently manage the feeding schedule. With the implementation of this application, it is expected that farmers can enhance productivity and efficiency in broiler chicken farming.

Abstract

Digital technology has rapidly developed, opening new opportunities for educational games for young children. These games serve as alternative learning media due to children’s high interest in playing games. Miner Quest is a game designed using game maker language or GML and using gamemaker studio platform. It incorporates a finite state machine method for non-playable characters (NPC). The game focuses on completing missions, inspired by Super Mario Bros 2, where players collect mining materials such as coal and nickel. Abstract

The vannamei shrimp is a type of shrimp that has a natural habitat in the Pacific Coast, and Mexico. This shrimp entered Indonesia in 1996 when tiger shrimp experienced a decline in production due to disease attacks caused by the White Spot virus. Demand for this shrimp immediately increased rapidly, requiring innovation to keep shrimp yields in line with market demand. The problem in vanamei shrimp farming is water quality, especially water temperature conditions where shrimp live. This shrimp prefer water conditions that have temperatures around 27-29°C. A water quality control system developed to maintain water conditions in accordance with the best conditions for P. vannamei shrimp to increase yields due to reduced mortality rates. Based on this problem, an IoT based water quality control system for the shrimp is developed. Meanwhile, this work is aimed at developing the application supporting this system.

Abstract

The process of fish farming will never be separated from dissolved oxygen level control devices such as aerators so that the cultured fish can grow and develop optimally. This is quite troublesome for fish farmers, especially for people who often leave their cultivation sites, so they cannot monitor directly. Therefore, a platform for remote monitoring is needed. This journal focuses on designing and developing a back-end system, one of which functions as a data communication medium from the IOT antares platform to the website built so that the website can be used to monitor and control IOT devices using the waterfall development method and HTTP communication protocol. this method and communication protocol were chosen because they are currently quite popular and very flexible to use. The results of this research show that data communication carried out by the server with Antares using the GO programming language can run well and quite efficiently. The system built is also able to accommodate several requests from users simultaneously with an average response time of 60ms, while the exchange of IOT device data with the website has an average response time of 3 seconds.

Abstract

This study introduces a new metaheuristic method: the best-worst northern goshawk optimizer (BW-NGO). This algorithm is an enhanced version of the northern goshawk optimizer (NGO). Every BW-NGO iteration consists of four phases. First, each agent advances toward the best agent and away from the worst agent. Second, each agent moves relatively to the agent selected at random. Third, each agent conducts a local search. Fourth, each agent traces the space at random. The first three phases are mandatory, while the fourth phase is optional. Simulation is performed to assess the performance of BW-NGO. In this simulation, BW-NGO is confronted with four algorithms: particle swarm optimization (PSO), pelican optimization algorithm (POA), golden search optimizer (GSO), and northern goshawk optimizer (NGO). The result exhibits that BW-NGO discovers an acceptable solution for the 23 benchmark functions. BW-NGO is better than PSO, POA, GSO, and NGO in consecutively optimizing 22, 20, 15, and 11 functions. BW-NGO can discover the global optimal solution for three functions.

Abstract

This paper promotes a new metaheuristic called the half mirror algorithm (HMA). As its name suggests, HMA offers a new kind of mirroring search. HMA is developed by hybridizing swarm intelligence and the evolution system. Swarm intelligence is adopted by constructing several autonomous agents called swarms. On the other hand, the evolution system is adopted using arithmetic crossover based on a particular reference called a mirror. Four mirrors are used in HMA: the best swarm member, a randomly selected swarm member, the central point of the space, and the corresponding swarm member. During the confrontative assessment, HMA is confronted with average and subtraction-based optimization (ASBO), total interaction algorithm (TIA), walrus optimization algorithm (WaOA), coati optimization algorithm (COA), and clouded leopard optimization (CLO). The result shows that HMA is superior to ASBO, TIA, WaOA, COA, and CLO in 20, 19, 19, 20, and 20 out of 23 functions, respectively. Moreover, HMA has found the global optimal of eight functions. It means the superiority of HMA occurs in almost entire functions. In the future, the mirroring search can be combined with the guided and neighborhood search to construct a more powerful metaheuristic.

Abstract

A new swarm-based metaheuristic that is also enriched with the crossover technique called swarm flip-crossover algorithm (SFCA) is introduced in this work. SFCA uses swarm intelligence as its primary technique and the crossover as its secondary one. It consists of three searches in every iteration. The swarm member walks toward the best member as the first search. The central point of the swarm becomes the target in the second search. There are two walks in the second search. The first walk is getting closer to the target, while the second is avoiding the target. The better result between these two walks becomes the candidate for the replacement. In the third search, the swarm member performs balance arithmetic crossover with the central point of the space or jumps to the opposite location within the area (flipping). The assessment is taken by confronting SFCA with five new metaheuristics: slime mold algorithm (SMA), golden search optimization (GSO), osprey optimization algorithm (OOA), coati optimization algorithm (COA), and walrus optimization algorithm (WaOA) in handling the set of 23 functions. The result shows that SFCA performs consecutively better than SMA, GSO, OOA, COA, and WaOA in 20, 23, 17, 17, and 17 functions.
