Abstract

High blood pressure in pregnancy is a high blood pressure disease that occurs during pregnancy and usually in the last month of pregnancy or more after 20 weeks of gestation in women who were previously normotensive. Warm water soak therapy is conductive where heat transfer from warm water into the body will cause dilation of blood vessels and decreased muscle tension, so as to improve blood circulation. The purpose of the study was to determine the effectiveness of foot soak therapy with warm water on reducing blood pressure in pregnant women in the Murung Pudak Health Center Work Area. The research method uses pre-experimental experiments, with a research design in the form of one group pretest-posttest without control. The results of the study that giving warm water foot soak reduced systolic blood pressure in pregnant women in the work area of the Murung Health Center and diastolic blood pressure before and after warm water foot soak therapy on reducing blood pressure there was a significant difference (p = 0.014, ≤ 0.05), so it can be concluded that giving warm water foot soak can reduce diastolic blood pressure in pregnant women.

Abstract

Introduction: Early marriage of girls increases the risk of death and morbidity in mothers and babies, including stunting. Several policies and programs to mature or increase the age of marriage have been implemented to eliminate this practice, but early marriages are still found. Purpose: This research examines in depth the evaluation of the implementation of the program for maturation and increasing the age of marriage for adolescent children. So, it can be identified the factors that cause teenage marriage to still be high. Method: A qualitative descriptive method was used as a research design and recruited six participants to study the maturation program and increasing the age of marriage as the main participants and triangulation participants. Participants triangulate the validity and reliability of information. Data or information collection uses interviews which are reported in the form of narrative descriptions and analyzed using an interactive analysis model for coding. Results: We found 3 research results on the reasons why there are still early marriages among adolescent children: (1) various limitations in the transformation of maturation programs and increasing the age of marriage; (1) the implementation of the program to increase the marriage age according to students has not met expectations; and (3) adolescent children who marry early are still found after graduating from school. Conclusion: The experience of adolescent children who took part in the maturation program and increasing the age of marriage felt that it did not meet expectations. Adolescent children still marry early after graduating from high school. This study indicates the need for adolescent children to receive early marriage education and its impact needs to be evaluated and improved from the input, process, and output aspects of implementing the maturation program and increasing the age of marriage so that it is attractive and meets the expectations of adolescent children.

Abstract

Background: The COVID-19 pandemic significantly impacted educational practices globally, including Indonesia's Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program, which emphasizes real-world learning experiences. Health monitoring became a crucial aspect of student safety during MBKM activities, particularly in community settings. This report examines the health protocols implemented by Universitas Sari Mulia during a humanitarian mission in response to the South Kalimantan floods amidst the pandemic. Case presentation: Sari Mulia University deployed 327 students to assist in four sub-districts affected by floods. To prevent the spread of COVID-19, pre-deployment health protocols included rapid antigen testing, which identified five asymptomatic positive cases requiring isolation. After completing the two-month MBKM program, students were tested again, revealing seven additional cases, including one with moderate symptoms, while others were either mild or asymptomatic. Discussion: The university's health monitoring protocols, including pre- and post-deployment testing, isolation, and symptom-based treatments, significantly minimized virus transmission. The importance of early detection and close monitoring of asymptomatic individuals  is emphasized, as undetected cases could contribute to community transmission. Additionally, the program highlights the necessity of integrating health education into MBKM activities to ensure students understand preventive health measures. Conclusion: Universitas Sari Mulia successfully implemented comprehensive health monitoring during its MBKM program, protecting both students and the communities they served. This case underscores the need for ongoing health vigilance, education, and institutional collaboration to safely conduct off-campus learning during the pandemic. These practices serve as a model for future MBKM programs across Indonesia.
