Abstract

This study explores the transformational leadership experiences of women academic leaders in Islamic higher education institutions in Bandar Lampung, Indonesia, within the context of Society 5.0. Employing a phenomenological qualitative method, the study conducted in-depth interviews with five leaders and an Information Technology expert. Primary data were collected through in-depth interviews with five women academic leaders serving as Vice Rector, Dean, Head of Study Program, and Secretary of Study Program. An additional interview was conducted with the Information Technology expert as part of expert triangulation, enriching the study’s perspective on the implications of technological integration in academic leadership. The results indicate a consistent tendency towards transformational leadership, which is considered the most adaptive and sustainable model for addressing rapid social and digital changes. Participants emphasized the importance of emotional connection, ethical foundations, and collaborative innovation as key components of effective leadership in the Society 5.0 era. Furthermore, this study shows that transformational leadership enables institutions not only to adapt to technological advancements but also to maintain a humanistic and inclusive academic culture. These findings have significant implications for leadership development in Islamic higher education, underscoring the importance of vision, moral integrity, and empathy in navigating future complexities.

Abstract

This paper discussed the translation errors in various top brands of instant noodles in Indonesia, ranging from the products produced by the local industries to the one imported from overseas. In this research, the researchers used a descriptive qualitative research method. The sources of data mean for the objects of the research were ten cooking instructions or procedures of various brands of instant noodles in Indonesia, translated from Indonesian into English. The data were collected through documentation techniques. The types of data were words, phrases, and sentences. The data were classified and tabulated based on the error types, following the standard of ATA’s Framework for Standard Error Making Classification. The result of the analysis showed that there were 40 translation errors found in 10 of 23 error categories with Omission as the most frequent error produced. The three most prominent error categories found in the instant noodles’ cooking instructions are Omission, Mistranslation, Syntax, and Cohesion. Omission turns to be the highest category of translation errors, which appeared 13 times out of 40 errors or 32.5 % of errors found in the analysis, followed by Mistranslation with 15% and Syntax and Cohesion that shares the same percentage of findings by reaching 12.5%. The researchers also found out that out of 10 instant noodles brands, instant noodle brand D has the most translation errors with 9 error findings out of 40 errors in total, followed by brand J with 8 findings of errors.

Abstract

Gasoline vehicles (GVs) contribute significantly to global energy crises and environmental pollution, while electric vehicles (EVs) offer a more sustainable alternative. However, the current development and deployment of EVs are largely limited to ideal operating conditions, such as urban roads. To compete effectively with GVs, EVs must have drivetrain systems that maintain high efficiency even in non-ideal environments, including rural areas and rough terrains. This study proposes a geometry optimization method for a 1 kW Brushless DC (BLDC) motor to improve energy efficiency under three primary EV traction scenarios: climbing, acceleration, and cruising. The optimization targets nine geometric parameters—outer and inner stator radius, magnet thickness, rotor yoke thickness, shoe stator thickness, magnet width, shoe stator width, stator pole width, and back-iron thickness. The optimization is performed using a Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm integrated with Finite Element Method Magnetics (FEMM) and analytical performance evaluation. The optimization constraints are derived from traction dynamics, weight, and volume limitations based on the regulations of the Indonesian Electric Vehicle Competition (Kompetisi Mobil Listrik Indonesia, KMLI). The results show that the optimized BLDC motor geometry can increase efficiency by up to 24.3% and torque by 11.3% compared to the baseline design. This research contributes a high-efficiency BLDC motor design tailored for dynamic EV traction demands under regulatory and extreme operational constraints, making it highly suitable for further development, including additional performance scenarios such as deceleration and cornering.

Abstract

The wake effect is an aerodynamic interaction between turbines in a wind farm, where wind flow is blocked by turbines ahead, leading to a total power loss of 10-25%. The wake effect can be controlled by adjusting the yaw-offset angle, pitch angle, tip-speed ratio, or a combination of these strategies. This research aims to compare and determine the most effective control strategy to maximize total wind farm power production. The method involves analyzing and simulating various control strategies to reduce the wake effect. A Gaussian wake-effect model is used to simulate wind flow patterns, turbine interactions, and total wind farm power. Data is generated from simulations under wind speeds of 3 m/s and 10 m/s, and turbine spacing of 7D and 12D. Results show that total wind farm power production increased by 11.41%, 2.21%, 0.00%, and 12.70% for yaw-offset angle, pitch angle, tip-speed ratio, and a combination of the three, respectively. The study identifies the combination of these parameters as the most effective strategy for reducing the wake effect. Proper wake-effect control can significantly boost total wind farm power production, with broader potential applications for commercial wind farms in the future.
