Abstract

This study aims to examine the concept of religious character education from the perspective of Musthafa Al Ghalayaini in the book Idhotun Nasyi’in. The research focuses on identifying character values relevant to adolescent education, especially in the modern era's moral challenges. Utilizing a library research method, this study finds that Al Ghalayaini’s character values such as sincerity, patience, hope, courage, a love of reading, nationalism, and trustworthiness align with the character education concepts developed by Indonesia’s Ministry of Education. However, differences are noted in the educational approach, where Al Ghalayaini employs a more traditional method, while the Ministry emphasizes active learner participation. This study provides new insights into the importance of integrating spiritual, moral, and nationalist values in shaping young generations to address globalization's challenges.

Abstract

Etika dalam bertamu dan memuliakan tamu dalam Islam itu merupakan aspek yang sangat penting sekali dalam budaya dan ajaran Islam. Tafsir Al-Azhar karya Buya Hamka merupakan sebuah karya tafsir yang memperlihatkan kedalaman dan keberagaman kajiannya terhadap Al-Quran. Kitab ini menawarkan perspektif yang luas dan mendalam dalam mengeksplorasi ayat-ayat Al-Quran, menciptakan landasan yang menjanjikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis konsep etika bertamu dan memuliakan tamu dalam Islam berdasarkan ayat-ayat Al-Qur'an yang dijelaskan dalam tafsir Al-Azhar karya Buya Hamka. Metode Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kepustakaan (Library Research) dan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan analisis teks, penelitian ini mengidentifikasi prinsip-prinsip etika bertamu yang ditegaskan dalam Al-Qur'an dan menjelaskan penafsiran Hamka terhadapnya. Temuan penelitian ini menyoroti pentingnya sikap hormat, keramahan, dan kedermawanan dalam menjamu tamu, serta menggambarkan bagaimana nilai-nilai tersebut tercermin dalam ajaran Islam. Hasil analisis ini memberikan pemahaman yang lebih mendalam tentang etika bertamu dalam konteks agama Islam dan kontribusi Hamka dalam memahami dan menjelaskan nilai-nilai tersebut.

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas kegiatan Penguatan Pemahaman Literasi Wakaf yang dilaksanakan di Pondok Pesantren Manbaul Ulum Gresik sebagai upaya strategis untuk mendorong kemandirian ekonomi pesantren melalui optimalisasi pengelolaan aset wakaf. Meskipun memiliki potensi aset wakaf yang besar, mayoritas pesantren, termasuk Manbaul Ulum, belum mampu mengelolanya secara produktif karena keterbatasan pemahaman dan keterampilan. Program ini menggunakan pendekatan service learning yang melibatkan mahasiswa dan dosen dalam pendampingan langsung kepada pengurus pesantren. Kegiatan dilaksanakan dalam bentuk pelatihan literasi wakaf dasar dan lanjutan, penyusunan business plan, serta evaluasi pre- dan post-test. Hasil program menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman peserta, dengan rata-rata skor literasi meningkat dari 40,80 menjadi 77,92. Selain itu, pengurus pesantren menunjukkan antusiasme tinggi dengan meminta pendampingan lanjutan, khususnya terkait legalitas aset, serta mengusulkan kemitraan jangka panjang dengan perguruan tinggi. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa integrasi pendekatan akademik dan pengabdian masyarakat mampu menghasilkan dampak nyata dalam pemberdayaan pesantren. Program ini dapat menjadi model replikasi bagi pesantren lain untuk mendorong pengelolaan wakaf yang lebih inovatif dan berkelanjutan

In the era of rapidly developing information technology, the use of digital media in education is becoming increasingly important. Conventional teaching and learning no longer attracts students because it is boring, including in teaching and learning SKI. Abstract

This study investigates how moderate Islamic education is implemented through local wisdom at SMK Az-Harul Ulum at SMK Az-Harul Ulum Gunung Rancak. The significance of this research is grounded in The urgency of promoting moderate Islamic education in Madura stems from the need to counter rising ideological rigidity and preserve the region’s strong tradition of tolerance and local wisdom and intolerance, as well as the role of local wisdom in strengthening students’ cultural identity and character. This study employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. with 10 teachers and 25 students from March to June 2024 with teachers, students, and school administrators, as well as through analysis of curriculum documents and learning materials. The data analysis technique used is thematic analysis to identify patterns and meanings within the collected data. The results of this research are expected to provide a comprehensive understanding of the implementation of the learning model, its challenges and supporting factors, as well as its impact on students’ understanding and internalization of moderate Islamic values and local wisdom at SMK Az-Harul Ulum Gunung Rancak. This research has the potential to contribute to the development of a model of moderate Islamic education that is relevant to the local cultural context.

Abstract

Moderate Islamic education is a crucial pillar in shaping students' character to be tolerant, just, and peace-loving, especially in a pluralistic society. MTsN Metatu Gresik, as a formal educational institution, strives to integrate religious moderation values into the learning process, particularly in the subject of Aqidah Akhlak (Islamic Creed and Ethics). This study aims to explore the process of integrating Islamic moderation values in Aqidah Akhlak learning and its implications for students. Employing a qualitative approach with a case study method, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The results show that values such as tawasuth (moderation), tasamuh (tolerance), tawazun (balance), and i’tidal (justice) are integrated through curriculum planning, contextual and dialogic teaching methods, and teacher role-modeling. The implications are evident in students’ behavior, which becomes more inclusive, open to differences, and balanced in religious practice. This study indicates that Aqidah Akhlak learning holds strategic potential in instilling moderate Islamic values in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

Contemporary hermeneutical approaches to Quranic interpretation have emerged as a dynamic response to the evolving intellectual and social contexts faced by Muslim societies worldwide. This study employs a qualitative methodology, utilizing literature review and library research, to critically examine how modern hermeneutics seeks to bridge the gap between traditional exegesis (tafsir) and the demands of present-day contexts. The analysis highlights that while classical tafsir—rooted in linguistic, historical, and jurisprudential traditions—remains foundational, it often struggles to address contemporary issues such as gender justice, pluralism, and socio-political change. Modern hermeneutical scholars, including Fazlur Rahman and Nasr Hamid Abu Zayd, have introduced contextual and critical frameworks that emphasize the socio-historical background of revelation, the dialogical relationship between text and reader, and the necessity of interpreting the Qur’an in light of current realities. This study finds that the integration of hermeneutical methods enables a more inclusive and adaptive interpretation, fostering relevance without undermining textual integrity. However, it also identifies ongoing debates regarding the legitimacy, boundaries, and potential risks of such approaches, particularly concerning the authority of traditional scholarship. Ultimately, the research demonstrates that contemporary hermeneutics, by engaging both tradition and modernity, offers a promising paradigm for meaningful Quranic interpretation, capable of addressing the complexities of modern Muslim life while maintaining fidelity to the sacred text. This synthesis contributes to the ongoing discourse on Islamic thought, suggesting pathways for future interpretive scholarship.

Abstract

Syekh Muhammad Al-Khudhari Bek merupakan seorang ulama dan pedagog yang menguasai berbagai bidang disiplin ilmu agama. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana nilai-nilai pendidikan Islam moderat menurut Muhammad Khudhari Bek dalam kitab Nūrul Yaqīn karya Syekh Muhammad Al-khudhari Bek berdasarkan teori behaviorisme. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kepustakaan. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara survei kepustakaan, yaitu dengan cara mengumpulkan data dan menghimpun sejumlah literatur yang ada di perpustakaan. Sumber data primer adalah kitab Nūrul Yaqīn, sumber sekunder adalah terjemahannya serta buku-buku lain yang terkait dan relevan dengan penelitian. Melalui teknik analisis tersebut, penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa nilai-nilai pendidikan Islam moderat dalam kitab Nūrul Yaqīn karya Syekh Muhammad Al-Khudhari Bek sangat relevan dengan kehidupan masa kini dan sangat dibutuhkan dalam mendidik orang-orang yang moderat dalam kehidupan masa kini karena Rasulullah Saw. merupakan sosok yang patut diteladani dalam segala hal terutama dalam penerapan teori behavioristik karena teori ini membahas tentang karakteristik perilaku anak. Rasulullah telah menunjukkan cermin kehidupan yang wawasannya begitu luas, seluas ragam kehidupan kita yang terkait dengan berbagai aspek dan profesi kita masing-masing. Nilai-nilai pendidikan Islam moderat yang terkandung dalam kitab Nūrul Yaqīn karya Syekh Muhammad Al-khudhari Bek berdasarkan teori Behavioristik adalah pendidikan kesabaran, kejujuran dan amanah, keadilan, keberanian, pemaaf, zuhud dan kepemimpinan yang dapat diterapkan oleh peserta didik dengan melihat perubahan perilakunya.

Abstract

This research aims to interpret the verses on moderation and moderate Islamic education according to Buya Hamka in Tafsir Al-Azhar. This research method uses a library approach and qualitative research type. Through a thematic interpretation approach. The results found about the concepts emphasized by Buya Hamka in his interpretation of moderate verses in the Al-Quran. These concepts include the right to freedom in all aspects of life, including freedom of belief, as well as rationalism in seeking the truth, as expressed in QS Al-Baqarah verse 256. Understanding of piety, social spirit regardless of racial, ethnic or religious differences, and Polite behavior towards neighbors, even non-Muslims, as explained in QS Al-Mumlahanah verse 8, is the main basis in the concept of moderate Islamic education. Apart from that, the concept of moderation verses also teaches the values of getting to know each other, interacting, helping each other, and cross-religious cooperation to advance civilization, in accordance with QS Al-Hujurot verse 13. The concept of having a moderate spirit and prohibiting extremism, as found in QS An-Nisa' verse 171, becomes the basis for forming a balanced character of Muslims.
