Abstract

This study aims to describe the character of tolerance and its development strategy at Mathlabul Ulum Jambu Lenteng Islamic Boarding School Sumenep. The research method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results showed that the character of tolerance at Mathlabul Ulum Islamic Boarding School was developed through four forms, namely planting tolerance values, learning tolerance values, acculturation of tolerance, and Niha'i program. The cultivation of tolerance values has been the core strategy of the pesantren since its inception, which is motivated by the historical reality of the surrounding community, which is full of conflict and disharmony. The learning of tolerance values is integrated into the formal curriculum and the teaching of moral books. Acculturation of tolerance is done through activities that involve interaction with the community, such as gotong royong, night patrols, imamah prayers, and routine recitations. The Niha'i program, which consists of Real Work Lectures (KKN) and community service, is the culmination of tolerance character development. The strategy of developing a tolerance character is carried out through exemplary kai/caregiver, fostering tolerance values, and community service. The findings of this study confirm and strengthen the urgency of tolerance education in pesantren, as well as contribute a new perspective on a comprehensive and systematic model of tolerance character development.

Abstract

The phenomenon of bullying in educational settings, particularly at the junior high school level, presents a significant issue that adversely affects students' social and psychological development. One strategic approach to addressing this problem is through the integration of moderate Islamic values into Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning strategies. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of PAI learning strategies based on moderate Islam in preventing bullying in schools. The research employs a qualitative approach with a case study method, focusing on the teaching practices of Islamic Education teachers at UPT SMP Negeri 3 Gresik. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, with the primary informants being PAI teachers and eighth-grade students. The results indicate that problem-based learning strategies, integrated with moderate Islamic values (such as tawassuth, tasamuh, i’tidal, and syura), significantly enhance tolerance, reduce aggressive behavior, and foster a more inclusive and harmonious learning environment. The study concludes that PAI learning that internalizes the values of religious moderation plays a crucial role in preventing bullying in schools. The implications of these findings underscore the importance of strengthening school culture programs and the active role of PAI teachers as agents of change in promoting a friendly and humane educational environment.

Abstract

Efficient logistics management plays a crucial role in the success of EPC projects, particularly when transporting heavy fabricated components across island regions. This study aims to identify the most optimal transportation mode using the AHP based on six key criteria: cost, lead time, risk, load capacity, flexibility, and port accessibility. A hierarchical decision model was developed and assessed by seven expert respondents, with calculations performed using Expert Choice 11. The results indicate that cost, lead time, and port accessibility hold the highest priority weights, reflecting their strategic importance in EPC logistics. The synthesis of criteria and alternative weights identified Roll-on/Roll-off (RoRo) as the most suitable transportation mode, outperforming cargo ships, barges, LCTs, and truck combinations. Validation using actual project data further confirmed this result: the total delivery cost using RoRo amounted to IDR 1,126,000,000, representing a 22% savings compared to the planned budget, and only 1.66% of the total project cost significantly lower than industry benchmarks of 8–11%.  The results confirm that AHP constitutes an effective and reliable approach for transportation mode selection in EPC projects. The study offers actionable managerial insights and advances the application of multi-criteria decision-making in construction logistics.

Abstract

The escalation of radicalism and intolerance in Indonesia demands a transformation of the educational paradigm capable of bridging the polarization between conservative and liberal religious thought. This study aims to explore the concept of moderate Islamic education from the perspective of KH. Ali Maksum and analyze its implications for the development of the national Islamic education system. Using a qualitative approach with a literature study design, this study examines in-depth the authoritative works of this figure, particularly the book "Hujjah Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaah," through content and historical analysis techniques. The main findings indicate that KH. Ali Maksum's construction of moderation is built on a proportional balance between intellectual and spiritual dimensions, which includes tolerance for differences in jurisprudence (ikhtilaf), strengthening rational faith, and prioritizing social piety. The implications of this thinking for education in Indonesia include the urgency of integrating religious and science curricula, instilling inclusive values, and strengthening character based on global ethics. This study concludes that the pedagogical ideas of KH. Ali Maksum offers a comprehensive framework as a theological bulwark against extremism, while simultaneously positioning educational institutions as laboratories of moderation, effectively producing a generation of adaptability, integrity, and the ability to maintain harmony in a multicultural society. ABSTRAKEskalasi radikalisme dan intoleransi di Indonesia menuntut transformasi paradigma pendidikan yang mampu menjembatani polarisasi antara pemikiran keagamaan konservatif dan liberal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi konsep pendidikan Islam moderat perspektif KH. Ali Maksum serta menganalisis implikasinya bagi pengembangan sistem pendidikan Islam nasional. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain studi kepustakaan, penelitian ini menelaah secara mendalam karya-karya otoritatif tokoh, khususnya kitab Hujjah Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaah, melalui teknik analisis isi dan sejarah. Temuan utama menunjukkan bahwa konstruksi moderasi KH. Ali Maksum dibangun di atas keseimbangan proporsional antara dimensi intelektual dan spiritual, yang mencakup sikap toleran terhadap perbedaan fikih (ikhtilaf), penguatan akidah yang rasional, serta prioritas pada kesalehan sosial. Implikasi pemikiran tersebut terhadap pendidikan di Indonesia meliputi urgensi integrasi kurikulum ilmu agama dan sains, penanaman nilai inklusivitas, serta penguatan karakter berbasis etika global. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa gagasan pedagogis KH. Ali Maksum menawarkan kerangka kerja komprehensif sebagai benteng teologis melawan ekstremisme, sekaligus memposisikan institusi pendidikan sebagai laboratorium moderasi yang efektif mencetak generasi adaptif, berintegritas, dan mampu merawat harmoni dalam masyarakat multikultural.
