Abstract

Background: Caries is a chronic disease of the dental hard tissue. The main cause of this disease is plaque bacteria, starting with the formation of white spot lesions due to the dissolving of minerals in tooth enamel caused by acids from the metabolism of bacterial carbohydrates. Caries often occurs in elementary school children because they tend to consume a lot of cariogenic food. The prevalence of caries can be reduced by preventive efforts. Several preventive efforts can be made by providing sufficient information, reducing cariogenic food consumption, always maintaining oral and dental hygiene and preventive dentistry actions. Method: This community service located at SD N Margasari 07. The counseling activity uses phantom and video animation followed by DMF-T/def-t data collection. Result: It was found that 41.8% of students had high category DMF-T/def-t index Conclusion: It is necessary to have a sustainable program to increase children's knowledge and awareness in maintaining dental and oral hygiene including promotive, preventive and curative efforts.

Abstract

Background: Elderly is someone who has reached the age of 60 years and over. Along with aging, a person experiences various changes both in physical and mental and social conditions. One of the changes that often occur in the elderly is tooth loss. Based on RISKESDAS 2018 data, 79.8% of the population aged 65 years experienced tooth loss with 9% of the elderly experiencing loss of more than 28 teeth. One of the treatments that can be done in conditions of tooth loss is the use of dentures. Changes that occur in the elderly cause most of the elderly to experience physical decline which causes limited movement and lack of motivation in maintaining denture hygiene. This community service is intended to provide education related to denture hygiene so that the elderly can maintain and pay attention to the dentures used. \Method: This type of research is an experimental research conducted directly to Margasari Village. Efforts were made to include a survey of the prevalence of denture users in the work area of the Margasari Health Center, counseling and training on cleaning dentures, as well as follow-up and evaluation to see the ability of the elderly in the community service area to clean dentures after the program implementation. Result: the initial knowledge before the extension was carried out the value was 40% and after the counseling it increased to 70%. Before the counseling was carried out, the skills obtained were 10% and after the counseling was done it became 85%. The result of the p-value is 0.000, which means that there is a difference before and after counseling. Conclusion: Counseling about maintenance of denture users for the people of Margasari Village is very important. This can be seen from the level of knowledge and skills before from 40% and 10% to 70% and 85%.

Abstract

Fixed bridge and crown restorations are widely utilized in dental practice. The utilization of bridge as a substitute for implants is prevalent in several contexts. The crown preparation procedure has a crucial role in determining the long-term periodontal tissue health. Under-preparation frequently manifests in many clinical circumstances, resulting in the thickening of the prosthetic crown in the cervical region. The accumulation of plaque in subgingival preparations is an often seen issue. Given the progressive advancements in material technology and manufacturing procedures, it is imperative to critically evaluate the continued suitability of chamfer and shoulder preparation techniques in contemporary practice. This is particularly relevant when considering restorations involving subgingival preparation edges. The objective of this study is to examine the utilization of knife-edge modified subgingival preparation procedures and monolithic zirconia restorative materials as potential strategies for the maintenance of periodontal and esthetic tissues over an extended length of time

Abstract

Background: Most of dental implants are accompanied by guided bone regeneration (GBR) procedures. Collagen membrane which is the most widely used type of membrane in the GBR procedure has the disadvantage of not having antimicrobial properties, old bone formation, easy to tear, and soft so that it does not maintain the dimensions of the augmentation area. Bombyx mori L. fibroin has good mechanical properties and has the potential to be used as a pharmaceutical material that is biocompatible, antimicrobial, and stimulates bone growth. The aim of this study was to analyze the effect of Bombyx mori L. fibroin coating on the mechanical properties of collagen membranes. Method: The samples consisted of the control group (group A) and the treatment group, the collagen membrane was coated using the Bombyx mori L dip-coating fibroin technique, namely group B (1 time coating process), group C (2 times coating process) and group D (3 times the coating process). Abstract

ABSTRACT This qualitative study explores the implementation of alternative assessments in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) and their role in holistically identifying students' multidimensional potential. Using a case study approach through classroom observations, in-depth interviews with PAI teachers, and document analysis (lesson plans, student portfolios, and project assessments), this study found that alternative assessment methods such as spiritual portfolios, values-based projects, and systematic observation were effective in uncovering students' hidden potential beyond cognitive achievement. Five key potentials identified include: (1) religious leadership (qiy?dah d?niyyah), (2) interpersonal skills in Islamic da'wah (futuwwah), (3) creative expression of Islamic values (ibd?'iyyah), (4) practical worship skills (mah?rah 'amaliyyah), and (5) spiritual reflection (muh?sabah nafsiyyah). These findings align with the maq??id al-shar?'ah framework, particularly in nurturing students' spiritual (hifzh al-nafs), intellectual (hifzh al-'aql), and social (hifzh al-nasl) development. However, this study identified challenges such as teachers' difficulties in designing multidimensional rubrics, subjectivity in affective-spiritual evaluation, and time constraints for personal feedback. To address this, this study proposes an integrative assessment model that combines Sufi triangulation (teacher insight, self-reflection, and peer feedback) and a digital portfolio platform to enhance objectivity and sustainability. This study's contribution to Islamic education discourse lies in recontextualizing assessment as a tool for talent mapping and value internalization, while also offering practical recommendations for teacher training and Islamic Religious Education curriculum development.

Abstract

Background: Bone reconstruction in a dental implant is a big challenge work, especially in a large defect where there was no anatomic supporting tissue. Nowadays there is no ideal membrane to be considered. In this case, titanium, even though second surgery is needed, seems the best choice as it can maintain its shape under the flap. Titanium may cause a membrane perforation on the mucosa in a thin gingival phenotype case. Purpose: This case report aimed to present a bone reconstruction procedure using 3D titanium membranes for dental implant treatment. Case. A 37 years old male patient came to the clinic with a chief complaint was a defect on his anterior tooth. Intraoral examination revealed an 11 fractured and luxated. Methode and Treatment Result: We used an allograft covered with 3D Titanium mesh after loading a dental implant. At the end of the surgery, a resorbable membrane was applied. Conclusion: It is concluded that 3D Titanium mesh can be an application for anterior bone reconstruction.
