The elderly experience a phase of decline in all body organ functions, such as social, physical, psychological and emotional abilities which become increasingly weakened so that the elderly become vulnerable. fights various diseases, including hypertension. Elderly exercise and finger grip relaxation are non-pharmaceutical therapies that are believed to lower blood pressure. This study aims to determine the effect of elderly exercise and finger grip relaxation on reducing blood pressure. The research design used was a quasi-experimental nonequivalent control group pre-post test design. The research sample consisted of 114 respondents who were divided into 3 groups of 38 respondents each, with inclusion criteria: Elderly people suffering from hypertension, minimum age 60 years, currently taking antihypertensive medication, blood pressure >140/90 mmHg, able to participate in gymnastics movements. / can move the whole body, does not smoke and is not obese. Group selection used consecutive sampling techniques. The research location was carried out in the Cantigi Community Health Center working area and the Wilcoxon and Mann Whitney tests were used to analyze this research data. Research results: systolic and diastolic blood pressure before and after the test in the control group (systolic p = 0.480 and diastolic p = 0.301), systolic and diastolic blood pressure before and after the test in the exercise group (systolic p and diastolic p = 0.001), as well as relaxation of finger grip on a decrease in blood pressure (systolic p = 0.001 and p = 0.012 diastolic). The difference in systolic and diastolic blood pressure after elderly exercise and finger grip relaxation shows that elderly exercise produces lower diastolic blood pressure results compared to finger grip relaxation (diastolic p = 0.015 and 0.005). Conclusion: elderly exercise and finger grip relaxation have an effect on reducing blood pressure and elderly exercise produces lower diastolic blood pressure results compared to finger grip relaxation (diastolic p = 0.015 and 0.005).

Abstract

The Integrated Service Post, known as Posyandu, is the front line in health services and other multifunctional services. However, at this time its existence has not been seen optimally, this is due to the lack of Posyandu implementers and managers in understanding the existence of Posyandu, so that reports on Posyandu activities that should be carried out in stages have not been carried out optimally, besides that there is still an assumption that Posyandu belongs to Health people. The objectives of the service activities are: Understanding Geber Madu Ayu, Joint Movement for Advancing Posyandu in Indramayu Regency. Methods: lectures, discussions and simulations. The results of the activity: All management of the Posyandu, Village Working Group, District Pokjanal and District Posyandu Pokjanal understand the importance of the Joint Movement to Promote Integrated Service Posts (Posyandu) in Indramayu Regency. Conclusion: The Joint Movement to establish a posyandu in Indramayu has been received and received a good response from stakeholders. Suggestion: Posyandu administrators at every level should increase their commitment to advancing posyandu by involving related elements, ranging from academics, business people, communities and media as well as advocating for regional/government heads.

Abstract

Background: Mental health problems, particularly depression, among adolescents in a community have become a growing public health concern globally. Early preventive efforts are essential to reduce the burden of depression. Educational interventions in the community are one of the recommended strategies. Objectives: This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of mental health education in increasing adolescents’ knowledge of depression prevention in a community. Methods: This study employed a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design involving 60 adolescents selected through purposive sampling in a rural community setting. The data were collected using a validated knowledge questionnaire on depression prevention and analysed using paired-sample t-tests in SPSS version 28. Results: The findings revealed a significant increase in the mean knowledge score after the intervention (pretest mean = 11.82 ± 2.41; posttest mean = 16.45 ± 1.89; p < 0.001). These results indicate that the mental health education intervention effectively improves adolescents’ knowledge of depression prevention. Conclusion: Mental health education can be an effective strategy in improving adolescent knowledge of depression prevention in community settings. This finding supports the importance of community-based educational programs as part of sustainable mental health promotion aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals.
