Abstract

To become a qualified and professional educator, teachers at the senior high school are required to have various skills to support teaching and learning activities. The goal of this program is to provide internet mastery skills by high school teachers to facilitate the search for English learning resources and introduce and deepen the knowledge and skills of supporting websites in learning English. The Outcomes were obtained; 1.) Participants had the knowledge and skills in utilizing the Internet as a varied source of English learning. 2.) Participants were able to identify and deepen the knowledge of supporting websites in learning English. 3.) The availability of 1 handout of internet utilization training to vary the English language resources to improve teacher performance. 4.) Participants had the knowledge in utilizing the internet to vary the English learning resources as evidenced by the comparison of the final outcome of the training with the participants' initial knowledge. the average value of the theory test has increased by 80-49 = 31. While the average score of practice tests also increased by 77 - 48 = 29. It proved that the training is held successfully to improve teachers performance in using internet as a source of learning.

Abstract

The purpose of teaching English in Indonesia has been stated in the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture No. 096/1967 on December 12th, 1967. The decree is to develop students' communicative English skills which are included listening, reading, writing and speaking skills. In the university level, students are expected to have grammatical knowledge of English and they can apply it in communication and interaction in life. English for Specific Purposes (ESP) or English for special purposes is a new approach in teaching and it is used in English for specific fields and studies which are in accordance with the needs of the field of science and the profession of English language users. The objectives will be achieved from this program are: Providing an introduction to mastery skills about English for Specific Purposes for Vocational School Teachers, it is used to improve teaching English and Deepen knowledge of English for Specific Purposes. Besides, to support English teaching and how to solve the problems if applying English for Specific Purposes in English teaching. The implementation of service requires 3 months consisting of: (1). Preparation includes surveys and place permit, (2). Socialization and audience, (3). The implementation of training and workshop activities for 4 meetings and evaluation in accordance with the material and practice of the teachers in one of the Vocational Schools in Kediri city, (4). Writing community service reports.

Abstract

Vocabulary is an important part of learning English. There are many numbers of words and phrases that are studied by each individual In the English word learning system and meaning in Indonesian. Therefore, many English language experts present detailed descriptions of of vocabulary form in English, both English-Indonesian and Indonesian-English, which can be understood easily by the English user environment. In learning vocabulary, of course there is a level that studies several types of vocabulary, one of the vocabulary learners is beginners. In this case, instructors and learners in Mosaic English Training Center need to be introduced to e-dictionary in learning vocabulary. Instructors often use dictionaries or dictionary manuals so it needs a more modern application, e-vocabulary dictionary is needed in learning vocab in the Mosaic English Training Center. The purpose of this program is to improve the ability of the instructors and the quality of teaching so it can be applied to the teaching and learning process and facilitate learners in learning vocabulary in the Mosaic English English Training Center.

Abstract

The purpose of this community service is to socialize the use and the ways of utilizing YouTube as an effective learning media in English learning. The target audience are the English teachers of State Vocational School 2 Kediri. The method which was used in this community service was the approach method, the implementation method which consisted of the preliminary step, the socialization and audience step and the evaluation step. This activity was carried out through several stages, the first step was the introduction phase of Youtube. The second step is searching for English media through YouTube facilities and learning implementation. The last step was evaluation and motivation. The result of this community service showed that English teachers of State Vocational School 2 Kediri city could take the advantages of YouTube facilities as the effective English learning media and YouTube media was very popular with high-level students especially students of State Vocational School 2 Kediri city.

Abstract

UD Arang Tempurung is a trading business engaged in the production of coconut shell charcoal and coconut shell charcoal powder. The sieving system is driven by a combustion motor which results in an unstable rotation. This affects the sieve yield and requires skilled personnel for treatment. The filter material is made of a material that is less corrosion resistant. The next problem is that workers have not used personal protective equipment (PPE) while working so they are vulnerable to respiratory diseases due to a polluted work environment. To overcome these problems, the PkM team designed problem solving with the following stages: (1) Problem mapping, (2) Problem solving, (3) Tool development, (4) Tool socialization (5) Partner Productivity Monitoring Evaluation (6) Safety and Health Socialization Work (K3). The use of a sifter with an electric motor is proven to reduce operating costs by up to 90%. In addition to operational costs that can be reduced, operating time per 1.3 tons of production also experiences an efficiency of up to 20%. The knowledge of partners regarding the operation of tools and the application of K3 at work has also increased. This is indicated by the application of the use of PPE including masks when working. Partners have also paid attention to the placement and use of work tools better by considering K3 factors.

Abstract

This community service activity is an activity about using the Language Electronic Dictionary Application to learn English in EECC Pare English Village which has a purpose to socialize and to provide knowledge about the use and utilization of the Language Electronic Dictionary Application as an effective, fantastic and innovative learning medium in English language learning in EECC Pare English Village. The target audiences were the English tutors. The method which was used in this community service was the approach method, the implementation method which was consisted of the preliminary stage, the socialization and hearing stage, and the evaluation stage. The result of this community service showed that English tutors in EECC Pare English village could utilize and use the Electronic Language Dictionary application as an effective, fantastic and innovative English learning medium. In addition, this application media could be a motivation and very popular with learners who are learning English.
