Abstract

This study aims to explore and investigate Arabic and grammar learning at the Darussakinah Batu Bersurat Islamic Boarding School from 2005 to 2017 and from 2018 to now and to compare aspects of progress in learning Arabic from the two periods. The method used is the descriptive qualitative method, with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the progress of learning Arabic at the Darussakinah Batu Bersurat Islamic Boarding School is contained in several aspects; namely, aspects of the purpose of Arabic learning objectives, the textbooks used, the learning process, and the learning methods used. The purpose of learning Arabic at the Darussakinah Batu Bersurat Islamic Boarding School today is receptive and expressive. The Arabic language textbook uses the target language to accelerate language acquisition. The language of the Arabic grammar textbook uses the students' mother tongue so that Arabic grammar learning is effective and efficient. Teachers use varied learning methods to make learning not boring. The process of learning Arabic grammar in this Islamic boarding school is theoretically applicable by analyzing Arabic texts with the theories studied. Learning like this makes students understand and feel the benefits of learning grammar. The Arabic language learning process emphasizes more aspects of oral and written communication so that students feel the meaning of their lives from the learning carried out; with this meaning, students are active and enthusiastic about learning Arabic.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki sejauh mana teknologi berperan sebagai katalisator yang mengubah lanskap pendidikan Bahasa Arab di Indonesia. Desain penelitian ini mengadopsi pendekatan library research, dengan menggunakan dokumentasi sebagai instrumen utama untuk mengumpulkan data. Penelitian ini berfokus pada analisis artikel penelitian dari jurnal yang terkait dengan penggunaan teknologi dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Arab. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis melalui pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemanfaatan teknologi memiliki dampak signifikan dan manfaat yang substansial dalam konteks pembelajaran Bahasa Arab. Pembelajaran Bahasa Arab menjadi lebih mudah, efisien, dan efektif, serta lebih ekonomis karena tidak memerlukan biaya cetak. Selain itu, teknologi memungkinkan pengawasan pembelajaran siswa yang lebih baik, menghadirkan native speaker secara virtual, menghilangkan batasan ruang dan waktu dalam proses pembelajaran, dan memberikan variasi dalam penyajian materi ajar. Penerapan teknologi juga memberikan kontribusi positif dalam evaluasi pembelajaran Bahasa Arab. Guru dapat menentukan batas waktu pengerjaan soal tes, mencegah kemungkinan pencontekkan, dan merancang soal evaluasi yang tidak hanya bersifat tulisan, tetapi juga melibatkan elemen audio dan video. Temuan ini menyoroti peran penting teknologi dalam membawa inovasi dan efisiensi dalam pendidikan Bahasa Arab, memberikan pemahaman mendalam tentang bagaimana teknologi dapat memperkaya pengalaman belajar siswa dan meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran Bahasa Arab di Indonesia.

Abstract

To get a decent and quality textbook, it is necessary to evaluate and analyze the book, where a quality book will help achieve learning objectives. The purpose of this research is to analyze 3rd edition of the book Shorof science for beginners by Abu Razin published by the Bisa Learning Center, whether the textbook meets BSNP standards based on aspects of material, presentation, language and graphics and whether the book is suitable for beginners. The type of research used is qualitative and bibliographic research which aims to analyze more deeply the book Shorof Science for Beginners by Abu Razin. The method used is documentation study and literature study. Based on the research results, the Shorof science textbook for beginners by Abu Razin is a book that meets BSNP standards and meets the quality of teaching materials based on aspects of material, presentation, language and graphics and is very suitable for use for teaching Shorof science for beginners. The weakness of this book is that there is no Glossary and Summary at the end of the discussion chapter.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengevaluasi dampak Model Pembelajaran Berbasis Proyek (Project-Based Learning/PBL) terhadap kemampuan berbicara bahasa Arab siswa di Madrasah Aliyah Pondok Pesantren Khairul Ummah, Riau. Studi ini dilakukan dari Maret hingga Juni 2024 dengan subjek siswa kelas X A (kelas eksperimen) dan X B (kelas kontrol). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen semu dengan desain Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan PBL secara signifikan meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara bahasa Arab siswa di kelas eksperimen dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol. Data pre-test menunjukkan mayoritas siswa di kedua kelas berada pada kategori "Kurang". Setelah penerapan PBL, 100% siswa di kelas eksperimen mencapai kategori "Bagus Sekali", sementara di kelas kontrol hanya 11% yang mencapai kategori tersebut. Uji statistik menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam hasil belajar siswa di kelas eksperimen (mean difference -37,278; p < 0,000) dibandingkan kelas kontrol (mean difference -11,667; p < 0,000). N-Gain kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,77 (kategori tinggi) dan kelas kontrol sebesar 0,25 (kategori rendah) mengindikasikan efektivitas tinggi PBL dalam meningkatkan kemampuan bicara bahasa Arab. Effect size yang sangat besar pada kelas eksperimen (Cohen's d sekitar -3,286) menunjukkan dampak yang kuat dari intervensi. Temuan ini menggarisbawahi pentingnya penerapan metode PBL untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara bahasa Arab siswa secara efektif. This study evaluates the impact of the Project-Based Learning (PBL) model on students' Arabic speaking skills at Madrasah Aliyah Pondok Pesantren Khairul Ummah, Riau. Conducted from March to June 2024, the study involved tenth-grade students, with class X A serving as the experimental group and class X B as the control group. The research employed a quasi-experimental method using a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The results indicate that the implementation of PBL significantly improved the Arabic speaking skills of students in the experimental group compared to the control group. Pre-test data showed that the majority of students in both groups were in the "Poor" category. After the implementation of PBL, 100% of the students in the experimental group reached the "Excellent" category, while only 11% of the control group achieved this level. Statistical tests revealed a significant improvement in the learning outcomes of students in the experimental group (mean difference -37.278; p < 0.000) compared to the control group (mean difference -11.667; p < 0.000). The N-Gain for the experimental group was 0.77 (high category), and for the control group, it was 0.25 (low category), indicating the high effectiveness of PBL in enhancing Arabic speaking skills. The very large effect size in the experimental group (Cohen's d approximately -3.286) demonstrates the strong impact of the intervention. These findings underscore the importance of applying the PBL method to effectively improve students' Arabic speaking skills.

Abstract

Research on communicative methods for acquiring and teaching a second language has been extensively explored. Still, the research is more dominant on the acquisition and teaching of English only. This study aims to describe learning Arabic by using communicative methods and the factors that influence the Arabic speaking ability of students in the superior class of Darussakinah Batu Bersurat Islamic Boarding School. The method used is the descriptive qualitative method. The results of this study indicate that the use of communicative methods in learning Arabic increases students’ speaking skills, and students actively speak Arabic in the learning process. Other factors that affect students’ speaking ability are the language environment, continuous daily vocabulary, and good mastery of Arabic Grammar (nahwu and shorof grammar). Mastery of Arabic grammar is beneficial for students in reconstructing memorized vocabularies into complete sentences, thus creating a sense of confidence in speaking.

Abstract

Education plays a central role in shaping a quality generation and realizing the integrity of a nation. In the context of Arabic language education in Indonesia, especially at MI Tahfizh Cendekia Kota Pekanbaru, challenges related to the mastery of Arabic vocabulary have become a primary concern. This research aims to explore the significant impact of the implementation of the Suggestopedia method on the mastery of Arabic vocabulary among students at MI Tahfizh Cendekia Pekanbaru. Using a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental research design, this study involved students from classes III A and III B as research subjects. The Suggestopedia method was applied to the experimental group, while the control group followed conventional methods. Data analysis using t-tests and N-Gain tests revealed a significant difference between the two groups, with the experimental group showing a greater improvement in vocabulary mastery. The post-test results indicated that the Suggestopedia method effectively enhanced the mastery of Arabic vocabulary among students, with all students in the experimental group achieving an Excellent category. Although the control group also achieved positive results, the experimental group demonstrated a greater improvement. These findings contribute significantly to the implementation of the Suggestopedia method as an innovative strategy in enhancing Arabic vocabulary mastery in the context of MI education.

Abstract

This study aims to collect and review information about various studies that discuss critical thinking skills in Arabic language education journals throughout Indonesia in the 2020-2023 period. A qualitative research approach with a literature method was used. This study answers questions about the trend of critical thinking skills research from the number of studies per year, research design, treatment used, measurement instruments, data analysis techniques, and an overview of the series of studies that researchers have conducted. The data analysis technique used content analysis. The results showed increased publications discussing critical thinking skills, although it has yet to become Indonesia's primary trend in Arabic language learning. The study also identified the dominance of qualitative research, research subjects that tend to be MA and undergraduate students, and measurement instruments involving observation sheets, tests, interviews, and documentation. In addition, the articles were generally published in accredited journals, indicating the quality and credibility of the research. Recommendations for future research include increasing quantitative research, classroom action research (PTK), and development research (R&D), as well as involving a wider range of research subjects and varising research designs. This study provides in-depth insights related to critical thinking skills research in the context of Arabic language learning in Indonesia. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengumpulkan dan mengkaji informasi tentang berbagai penelitian yang membahas keterampilan berpikir kritis pada jurnal pendidikan bahasa Arab se-Indonesia pada periode 2020-2023. Pendekatan penelitian kualitatif dengan metode kepustakaan digunakan. Penelitian ini menjawab pertanyaan tentang tren penelitian keterampilan berpikir kritis dari aspek jumlah penelitian pertahun, desain penelitian, perlakuan yang digunakan, instrumen pengukuran, teknik analisis data, dan gambaran rangkaian penelitian yang telah dilakukan oleh para peneliti. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis konten. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan jumlah publikasi yang membahas keterampilan berpikir kritis, meskipun belum menjadi tren utama dalam pembelajaran bahasa Arab di Indonesia. Penelitian ini juga mengidentifikasi dominasi penelitian kualitatif, subjek penelitian yang cenderung pada siswa MA dan mahasiswa strata 1, serta instrumen pengukuran yang melibatkan lembar observasi, tes, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Selain itu, artikel-artikel tersebut umumnya diterbitkan di jurnal-jurnal terakreditasi, menunjukkan kualitas dan kredibilitas penelitian. Rekomendasi untuk penelitian selanjutnya mencakup peningkatan penelitian kuantitatif, penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK), dan penelitian pengembangan (R&D), serta melibatkan subjek penelitian yang lebih luas dan varisasi desain penelitian. Penelitian ini memberikan wawasan mendalam terkait penelitian keterampilan berpikir kritis dalam konteks pembelajaran bahasa Arab di Indonesia.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kajian dasar linguistik modern. Metode penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitaitf. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah literatur yang berkaitan dengan linguistik Modern. Teknik analisis data adalah analisis isi yang berkaitan dengan linguistik, linguistik umum dan linguistik modern serta karya yang terkait dengannya. Hasil penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa linguistik modern merupakan kajian ilmiah tentang bahasa itu sendiri, baik dari segi penggunaan bahasa sebagai ujaran (parole) maupun struktur leksikal, gramatikal, dan fonologis bahasa (langue) . Objek kajian linguistik modern adalah komponen penyusun bahasa, yaitu fonologi, morfologi, sintaksis dan semantik. Tujuan linguistik modern adalah untuk memperoleh pemahaman yang lebih baik tentang sifat, fenomena, dan komponen bahasa sehingga dapat digunakan untuk berkomunikasi dengan orang lain dalam konteks masyarakat.

Abstract

The primary objective of this research is to examine digital technology that can be used in Arabic language learning evaluation. The research method employed is a literature review by analyzing relevant scientific articles from indexed journals. The findings reveal that several digital technology, such as Edmodo, Quizizz, Google Forms, Kahoot, Plickers, and Thatquiz, possess unique features that support the learning evaluation process. The use of digital technology has been proven to improve time efficiency, accessibility for students, and learning motivation through an interactive approach. Additionally, the integration of digital technology in evaluation enables personalized learning, resource efficiency, long-term data management, and the development of digital skills for both students and educators. The implications of this study indicate that integrating digital technology into the evaluation of Arabic language learning can enhance teaching quality and responsiveness to students' needs. The main contribution of this research is to provide educators with a guide for selecting and implementing appropriate digital evaluation technologies.

Abstract

Speaking proficiency in Arabic is a fundamental language skill that supports students’ religious comprehension, particularly within the context of Islamic schools (madrasah). However, the limited frequency of speaking practice, low levels of student self-confidence, and the use of less interactive teaching methods present significant barriers to the development of this competency. In response to these challenges, this study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the windows shopping learning model in enhancing the Arabic speaking skills of eighth-grade students at MTs Pondok Pesantren Nurul Huda, Indragiri Hulu. Employing a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, data were collected through pre- and post-tests and analyzed using a t-test and N-Gain calculation. The findings reveal that the implementation of the windows shopping model has a significant positive effect on improving students' Arabic speaking abilities. This model effectively fosters an active and communicative learning environment through independent exploration, peer dialogue, and oral presentation, all of which encourage direct student engagement. The novelty of this study lies in the application of the windows shopping model within the Arabic language learning context—an area where its use has previously been more common in social studies instruction. This model holds promise as a reference for madrasah curriculum development policies focused on active learning and offers an alternative strategy for enhancing students’ oral communication skills in a contextual, participatory, and meaningful manner.
