Abstract

This community service aims to enhance the understanding and skills of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Waringin Jaya Village, Bojong Gede Subdistrict, Bogor Regency, regarding the importance of business legality through Halal Certification and PIRT (Traditional Food Production License). The lack of knowledge among MSME actors about procedures, regulations, and the benefits of certification has led to low product competitiveness and limited market access. The activity was carried out through socialization, technical training, and administrative assistance for certification applications in accordance with the provisions of BPJPH (Indonesian Halal Certification Agency) and BPOM (National Agency of Drug and Food Control). The implementation methods included preparation, site observation, coordination with related agencies, material socialization, technical training for registration, and activity evaluation. The results of the activity showed an increase in participants’ understanding of the urgency of Halal certification and PIRT, as well as their ability to prepare the necessary documents. Through this activity, MSME actors are expected to meet product safety and halal standards, increase consumer trust, and expand local product marketing opportunities. In conclusion, this discussion asserts that Halal certification and PIRT licenses are mandatory for MSME actors selling various products and must be familiar with the regulations regarding Halal Certification and PIRT Licenses.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi seberapa efektif pelatihan TOEFL dalam meningkatkan kemampuan bahasa Inggris karyawan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan PT. Inspira Teknologi Bolasepak. Untuk penelitian ini, pendekatan mix-methods digunakan, dan desain quasi-experimental satu kelompok pretest-posttest menggunakan 14 karyawan sebagai sampel. Untuk menentukan perbedaan antara skor sebelum dan sesudah pelatihan, kuesioner evaluasi pelatihan, dan tes TOEFL (pre-test dan post-test) digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan dianggap efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan bahasa Inggris peserta, dengan peningkatan rata-rata skor TOEFL dari 428 menjadi 493, dengan peningkatan sebesar 65 poin yang signifikan secara statistik (p < 0,05). Selain peningkatan aspek kognitif, ada perubahan perilaku, seperti peningkatan kepercayaan diri dan kemampuan untuk berkomunikasi dengan orang lain dalam bahasa Inggris di tempat kerja. Oleh karena itu, pelatihan TOEFL benar-benar meningkatkan kualitas sumber daya manusia dan mempersiapkan perusahaan untuk menangani tuntutan komunikasi global. Kata kunci: pelatihan TOEFL, kemampuan bahasa Inggris, quasi-experimental, evaluasi pelatihan, tuntutan global.

Abstract

Bahasa Inggris harus diperkenalkan sejak dini kepada anak-anak agar tidak asing ketika berinteraksi dengan dunia di luar lingkungannya. Keuntungan mengenal apalagi menguasai akan menjadi keunggulan bagi-anak-anak untuk bergaul lebih jauh dalam mengenali dunianya. Bahasa Inggris selain menunjukkan penggunanya, juga menjadi asal tempat pengguna. Dengan pengetahuan ini, anak-anak akan mengetahui kaidah berbahasa Inggris yang benar dan dapat menyerap sejak dini simbol-simbol yang dinyatakan dalam aktivitas keseharian. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) dosen dan mahasiswa Sastra Inggris ini dilakukan, dengan maksud agar anak-anak Paud Nurmaima Cibadak Kota Bandung mampu memahami secara benar penggunaan bahasa Inggris melalui pendampingan pengajaran bahasa Inggris.Tujuan PKM untuk memberikan pengetahuan secara dini penggunaan bahasa Inggris kepada anak-anak PAUD, dengan menggunakan metode STAR (Situation, Task, Activity, Result). Melalui metode STAR ini dapat dilihat perkembangan lebih lanjut dari proses pendampingan pengajaran hingga terbentuknya pengetahuan anak-anak dalam memahami bahasa Inggris. Hasil PkM adalah terbentuknya pemahaman dan pengetahuan dasar anak-anak mengenai simbol bahasa Inggris sehingga mengurangi kebingungannya dalam memahami lafal dan simbol yang berbeda dengan bahasa Ibu.

Abstract

Digitalization has brought significant changes to the teaching and learning process, especially in English language learning. By integrating technology and information communication into its activities, moreover, it provides opportunities to create more interactive and engaging learning. This community service carried out at SMP Plus Al Ittihat Garut aimed at improving digital literacy of the teachers and students. The program was conducted through seminars, workshops, and intensive mentoring methods to implement affectively the program. The results of the activity showed an increase in positive attitudes towards the use of technology, digital skills, and teachers' ability to integrate digital media into English language learning. However, the limited internet access, imbalance in the availability of digital devices, and low digital literacy among teachers and students were considered as major obstacles in optimizing activities and utilizing technology in their implementation at this school. Based on the responses and enthusiasm of teachers and students, this digital literacy activity required a good sustainability to support more effective, creative, and adaptive learning in the digital era so that it can be a strategic step in overcoming the technology gap and improving the quality of education in the rural areas with limited resources.

Abstract

This research was based on the Community Service Program activities in the program of Everyday English based on CLT held in the Saung Angkung Udjo tourist area. The purpose of this study was to describe the implementation of the program by observing the effectiveness of the CLT approach applied in order to improve the English communication skills of child performers. This study involved 30 performers aged 8–15 years who are active in angklung and Sundanese cultural arts performances. Observations and interviews were applied to gather data and information that support this research. The results of the activity showed that participants already have the basics of English, but still experience limitations in using the language communicatively. The results of the observation showed that after participating in the training, the performers showed better English skills and were more confident in conveying vocabulary in English to tourists. Thus, the Everyday English program based on CLT can be an applicable learning model in improving English communication competency in the context of cultural tourism in terms of improving the quality of interaction between artists and tourists.
