Abstract

The workshop on cable-based and wireless networks with VLANs and routing using Mikrotik is one of the community service activities carried out by Lecturers at the Palembang Palembang Institute of Business Technology. The aim of this activity is to increase the skills of students at Muhammadiyah 1 Palembang Vocational High School. The activity will be carried out on Monday 8 January 2024. The implementation method uses lecture and practice methods. The training activity is divided into three parts, namely the first is a presentation about networks, VLANs and routing using a proxy, the second is practice in creating a network, VLAN configuration and routing using a proxy which is carried out alternately by the presenter and training participants and the third is an exercise as evaluation material to determine the participant's level of understanding. . The result of this activity is the increased ability of students at the Muhammadiyah 1 Palembang Vocational School Menangah regarding computer networks and VLANs. The implementation of this activity went well where the training participants were active and able to complete the exercises well and on time.

Abstract

Training on the use of Artificial Intelligence used to create promotional media for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) is one of the community service activities carried out by Lecturers at the Palcomtech Institute of Technology and Business. The aim of this activity is to increase the knowledge and abilities of SMEs assisted by PT. Pertamina International Unit III Plaju Refinery to create promotional media. The activities will be carried out on Sunday 17 December 2023 at the Pertamina Education Park which is located at Talang Putri, Plaju District, Palembang City. The training was attended by 33 business actors. The implementation method is carried out by means of presentations and practice using the Canva application which utilizes artificial intelligence to create promotional designs quickly and effectively. The implementation of this training activity went very well where all participants actively participated in the training and were able to create promotional designs for their respective businesses

Abstract

The results of a survey conducted by the Indonesian Career Center Network (ICCN) in 2017 showed that 87% of Indonesia’s students stated that the field of study they chose did not match their interests. Based on the results of this survey, as well as the observations and findings emerging from the research environment, it is a motivation for researchers to develop applications of interest and talent tests. The design thinking method applied consists of five stages, namely, emphasize, define, imagine, prototype, and test, and has produced a minimum viable product (MVP) called Prodi P. The resulting MVP has three main features are interest and talent tests, product information, and consultation. The test results of the MVP are carried out in two ways: alpha testing and beta testing. The results of alpha testing indicated that 100% of the application features met the requirements, while beta testing stated that the application was attractive and provided positive information, and 91.6% of visitors declared that the provided test tools were relevant to the characteristics of the computer science program.In conclusion, the app has been running according to the user's expectations.

Abstract

This training aims to enhance teachers' skills in using technology, particularly the Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) Studio application, to produce effective and engaging learning videos for students. The methods applied in this training include presentations, demonstrations, and hands-on practice with the OBS Studio application to create learning videos. The outcome of this training is learning videos designed by the teachers. Based on the assessment of the videos created by the teachers and the analysis of the questionnaire data, it can be concluded that this training has improved the teachers' ability to create learning videos using the OBS Studio application, and the teachers were highly satisfied with the content and delivery of the training materials.

Abstract

This prototype of an IoT-based Automatic Billiard Billing and Light Management System is designed to revolutionize billiard business operations, delivering significant efficiency and accuracy. The system integrates a powerful ESP32 microcontroller with the reliable MQTT protocol, creating a seamless communication network that enables remote monitoring and control. Sophisticated sensors installed on each billiard table are responsible for detecting the real-time duration of table usage, then transmitting this data to the server via ESP32 and MQTT. The collected data is then processed and presented in an intuitive and easily accessible application for business managers. This application not only displays the current status of each table and playtime duration information, but also automatically calculates rental fees based on predetermined rates. Furthermore, the system also has the capability to automatically control the billiard table lights, so that the lights only turn on when the table is in use, and turn off when not in use. Thus, this prototype system not only minimizes the potential for billing calculation errors and reduces the need for manual intervention, but also provides invaluable convenience in monitoring overall business activity, transparent billing management, and ultimately, increases the profitability of the billiard business.

Abstract

 PT Bintang Suryasindo, a company focusing on the distribution of consumer products, caters to a diverse customer base, including outlets spread across various regions. One crucial aspect of company operations is the management of receivables originating from these outlets. To facilitate its business operations, PT Bintang Suryasindo provides credit or receivable facilities to outlets. However, in its implementation, customer outlets often struggle to recall or monitor the receivable payment deadlines they must meet. Therefore, an effective solution is required to provide timely notifications to outlets. One viable solution is to develop an application capable of sending receivable notifications directly to outlets. The application, built using the Waterfall method, incorporates features such as employee task schedules, settled outlets, and overdue outlets. The results of testing for all 18 test cases were successful and aligned with the testers' expectations. This indicates that the application is ready for implementation.

Abstract

Online courses are currently growing rapidly, influenced by various factors, especially among college students. This study uses the Technology Acceptance Model, by adding the variable of facilitating conditions. This study aims to determine the effects of perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, and facilitating conditions on the actual use of online courses, mediated by intention to use. This study is the first conducted on students in university in South Sumatra, Indonesia, who have used or are currently using online courses. The data collection was carried out from June 24, 2024, to August 9, 2024. The research instrument used was a questionnaire based on a 5-point Likert scale. The sampling technique used in this study was purposive sampling, targeting students at universities under the Higher Education Service Institution Region II in Indonesia. A total of 360 students participated as respondents. The questionnaire results were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling – Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). Data analysis was conducted using the SmartPLS software, version 4.1.1.2. The results showed that perceived ease of use had a significant influence on intention to use (path coefficient = 0.281, T-statistic = 6.642, P-value = 0.000), and perceived usefulness also had a positive influence on intention to use (path coefficient = 0.155, T-statistic = 4.545, P-value = 0.000). Facilitating conditions also had a positive influence on intention to use (path coefficient = 0.476, T-statistic = 8.880, P-value = 0.000), and intention to use significantly influenced actual use (path coefficient = 0.452, T-statistic = 10.490, P-value = 0.000). These findings highlight the important role of perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, and facilitating conditions—mediated by intention to use—in significantly influencing the actual use of online courses among students, particularly at universities under the jurisdiction of the Higher Education Service Institution Region II in Indonesia.

Abstract

The focus of this research is implementing the waterfall method in designing a reading room digitalization system. The system development method uses the waterfall method, which consists of software requirements analysis, design, program code creation, testing, and maintenance, while system modeling uses data flow diagrams. This system is tested using black box testing with the type of Balance Equivalence Partitioning and Sample Testing, which is used to ensure that the selected values can produce good data and match the data entered by the user. The results of this research show that applying the waterfall method to building a reading room digitalization system can be done well because this method is unidirectional, meaning that each phase must be completed before the next phase begins, and the system is built where the requirements have been clearly defined from the start and are not possible to change randomly. significant during development

Abstract

Blended Learning practiced by the PalComTech Institute of Technology and Business in the teaching and Learning activity system describes a combination of 3 teaching and Learning activity systems face-to-face (offline), online (online), and application support. The PalComTech Online Learning Android application is an application for teaching and Learning activities used by the PalComTech Institute of Technology and Business in supporting the ease of teaching and Learning activities online (online). To support teaching and Learning activities digitally, this application provides Learning modules in the form of video material and pdf material. The application of technological sophistication along with the development of the user-friendly PalComTech Online Learning Android Application will run better in carrying out the teaching and Learning process and training easily and can also create a generation of students who are aware of the use of digital technology. Therefore, this research tested the level of Usability in using the PalComTech Online Learning Android application with the PACMAD (People at the Center of Mobile Application Development) method which consists of factors of Effectiveness, Efficiency, Satisfaction, Learnability, Errors, Memorability, and Cognitive Load.
