Abstract

Finishing workstations have two activities: cleaning and painting. Irregular work layouts cause time wasted just to move the product to be worked on. In addition, there is no permanent work layout arrangement or placement of work objects so that every day there is a change in work layout makes workers have to make adjustments again, so this will waste time and will reduce the productive time of each worker at the painting work station. The purpose of this study is to design an improvement layout that can be used for cleaning and painting work using the motion study method. The results of the motion study analysis obtained a repair work layout combining two cleaning and painting jobs into one repair layout with the placement of workpieces and work equipment according to the needs of the right and left hands, so that the resulting work movement is more effective and increases cycle time efficiency.

Abstract

All companies hope for an effective and efficient production system, but an imperfect production system means that PT XYZ must improve its production activities. The company strives to produce good products followed by a high level of productivity. In this research, we investigate a case at PT XYZ which produces hot stamping foil in the rewind section. This research found that there was waste that occurred in set-up replacement activities in production. Because it requires a long processing time, we perfected the system by implementing the Single Minute Exchange of Dies (SMED) method, then the process optimized internal activities in the set-up process. The application of the SMED concept is carried out by changing internal activities into external activities with the addition of helpers. This research aims to provide a more effective and efficient set-up replacement process so that machine downtime can be reduced. The results of this research show a 52% reduction in set-up time obtained by adding a helper with a time before implementation of 58 minutes to 30 minutes. This research concludes that SMED is effective in reducing machine set-up time and increasing the efficiency of the production process with benefits after implementing the SMED method by adding a helper of Rp. 10,649,336. In this way, implementing the SMED method helps companies increase production set-up replacement times in the rewind section.

Abstract

Optimalisasi waktu dalam keseimbangan lintasan produksi sangat penting bagi perusahaan yang bergerak di industri komponen otomotif seperti PT YYY dimana proses produksi dibuat secara massal dimana metode dan elemen-elemen kerja dilakukan berulang-ulang. Oleh karena itu keseimbangan lintasan ini harus direncanakan dengan baik supaya mampu mengefisiensikan penggunaan tenaga kerja dan memaksimalkan keuntungan perusahaan. Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut, diperlukan manajemen pengendalian produksi yang baik agar tidak ada waktu dan operator yang menganggur hingga berakibat kerugian bagi perusahaan. Line balancing merupakan penyeimbangan penugasan beberapa elemen kerja ke stasiun kerja untuk meminimalkan banyaknya work station dan mengurangi total waktu menunggu (idle time) pada seluruh stasiun kerja pada tingkat output tertentu. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode Rank Positional Weight (RPW). Adapun alur penelitian dimulai dari identifikasi masalah, studi lapangan dan studi literatur. Setelah melakukan studi pendekatan, kemudian dilakukan penentuan batasan masalah, rumusan masalah serta tujuan penelitian.  Nilai smoothness index yang diperoleh yaitu 590,565 menunjukkan adanya ketidakseimbangan distribusi beban kerja antar stasiun. Meskipun tingkat efisiensi mendekati batas minimal yang diterima dalam industri, nilai tersebut masih menunjukkan potensi perbaikan.   Optimizing time in the balance of the production trajectory is very important for companies engaged in the automotive component industry such as PT YYY where the production process is made in bulk where the methods and elements of work are carried out repeatedly. Therefore, this trajectory balance must be well planned in order to be able to efficiently use labor and maximize company profits. To overcome this, good production control management is needed so that there is no time and idle operators that result in losses for the company. Line balancing is the balancing of assigning several work elements to the workstation to minimize the number of work stations and reduce the total idle time on all workstations at a certain output level. This study uses a quantitative approach using the Rank Positional Weight (RPW) method. The research flow starts from problem identification, field studies and literature studies. After conducting an approach study, then the determination of the problem limit, problem formulation and research objectives are carried out. The smoothness index value obtained was 590.565 indicating an imbalance in the distribution of workload between stations. Although the level of efficiency is close to the minimum limit accepted in the industry, it still shows potential for improvement

The use of websites in today's industrial world plays a significant role. Websites are used as a medium for information, sales, and product promotion. Digital branding is an effective and superior strategy for facilitating digital communication between sellers and buyers. Through branding, companies can introduce their brands while building a positive image and reputation among consumers. This branding effort aims to foster consumer trust in the company. This research uses the prototyping method, an approach in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) that focuses on developing working models. The creation of a website-based pet shop digital branding system can help shops introduce their businesses and products to buyers because it can be accessed directly from anywhere. Abstract

CV. Indah Karya Furniture, a company engaged in the furniture manufacturing industry, faces challenges in maintaining the quality of its flagship product, the meja nakas (nightstand). This research employs the Nine Tools approach, a combination of the basic seven tools and the new seven tools, including: control chart u, stratification, Pareto diagram, histogram, scatter diagram, fishbone diagram, affinity diagram, interrelationship diagram, and tree diagram. The data analyzed consists of production and defect data from July 2024, totaling 355 units. The findings reveal that delamination is the most frequent defect, with 101 occurrences (70%), followed by uneven surfaces with 28 occurrences (19%), and joint gaps with 16 occurrences (11%). According to the u control chart, the production process is statistically unstable, as some points exceed the upper control limit. The scatter diagram indicates a random relationship between production volume and defect count.
