Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out how the workload of room attendants at Asialink Hotel Batam City, based on the Koesomowidjojo workload theory with 3 indicators (work conditions, use of working time, targets to be achieved). This research is a qualitative descriptive study with the object of research are room attendants and participants from the Department of Housekeeping. The results of this study indicate that the workload on the employees of the Housekeeping Department, especially room attendants, is not optimal enough. The existence of multi-profession work, namely employees get workload from two types of work as room attendants and public area attendants, causing a lack of work focus on employees and having an impact on employee work mobility in one or both of the work professions carried. Management can provide work professions to employees separately, this can be done by increasing the number of workers in the Housekeeping Department.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi optimasi Hotel Management System (HMS) melalui pengalaman night reception di Vivotel Hotel Batam. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus, penelitian ini melibatkan wawancara dengan dua staf night reception dan satu perwakilan manajemen, observasi partisipan selama lima shift malam, serta analisis dokumen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan efisiensi operasional yang signifikan, termasuk pengurangan waktu check-in sebesar 37,5% dan efisiensi night audit sebesar 62,5%. Kualitas layanan juga meningkat, tercermin dari kenaikan Net Promoter Score sebesar 20%. Tantangan utama meliputi adaptasi staf terhadap sistem baru dan integrasi dengan sistem eksternal. Penelitian ini mengidentifikasi peluang pengembangan HMS, termasuk peningkatan fitur pelaporan dan integrasi dengan sistem manajemen energi. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya pendekatan berfokus pengguna dalam optimasi teknologi perhotelan dan memberikan wawasan berharga bagi pengembangan HMS di hotel-hotel sejenis.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi filosofi dan simbolisme barang baru dalam konteks wisata belanja di Grand Mall Batam menjelang hari raya. Menggunakan pendekatan fenomenologi kualitatif, studi ini melibatkan wawancara, observasi, dan analisis dokumen. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa Grand Mall Batam bertransformasi menjadi ruang liminal yang memfasilitasi transisi dari rutinitas ke momen sakral hari raya. Pembelian barang baru terungkap sebagai ritual pembaruan diri yang mendalam, melampaui tindakan konsumsi semata. Posisi mal sebagai hub ritel transnasional menciptakan ruang unik untuk negosiasi identitas budaya. Konsumsi simbolis dan status sosial menjadi aspek penting, dengan preferensi pada merek terkenal mencerminkan konsumsi conspicuous. Teknologi, terutama media sosial, berperan signifikan dalam membentuk pengalaman belanja hibrida. Lonjakan penjualan menjelang hari raya mengungkap narasi kompleks tentang perubahan tradisi dan adaptasi terhadap modernitas. Fenomena ini merefleksikan perpaduan kompleks antara spiritualitas, identitas, status sosial, dan dinamika ekonomi global, menantang dikotomi tradisional antara sakral dan profan dalam praktik konsumsi modern.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menginterpretasikan ekspresi musikal penyanyi di Port House sebagai atraksi wisata di Batam. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan metode etnografi, penelitian ini mengeksplorasi bagaimana penyanyi memanfaatkan ekspresi musikal untuk menciptakan hubungan emosional dengan audiens, sekaligus membentuk citra Batam sebagai destinasi wisata malam. Observasi partisipatif dan wawancara semi-terstruktur digunakan untuk menggali interaksi antara penyanyi dan audiens serta bagaimana teknologi modern mendukung kualitas pertunjukan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekspresi musikal penyanyi tidak hanya mencerminkan kreativitas individu, tetapi juga memainkan peran penting dalam menarik wisatawan, meningkatkan kepuasan mereka, serta memperkuat identitas budaya lokal Batam di tengah pengaruh global. Penelitian ini memberikan wawasan tentang seni pertunjukan sebagai daya tarik wisata yang unik dan berkontribusi terhadap pengembangan pariwisata di Batam.

Abstract

Perkembangan industri perhotelan yang pesat, khususnya di wilayah Batam, mendorong pentingnya peningkatan kualitas pelayaanan Receptionist dalam memperlancar proses check-in dan proses check-out. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peranan Receptionist dalam memperlancar proses check in dan check-out di Asialink Hotel by Prasanthy. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif, dengan pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara dengan Receptionist dan Front Office Manager serta dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Receptionist memiliki peran krusial dalam menciptakan pengalaman menginap yang positif bagi tamu. Peran tersebut mencakup: memberikan informasi dan layanan yang ramah dan profesional, memproses data tamu dengan akurat dan efisien, mengelola sistem reservasi dan pembayaran, menangani keluhan dan permintaan tamu dengan cepat dan tepat, serta menjaga kebersihan dan kerapihan area resepsionis. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa Receptionist merupakan ujung tombak dalam memberikan kesan pertama yang baik kepada tamu, sehingga menjadi faktor penting dalam membangun loyalitas dan citra positif bagi Asialink Hotel by Prasanthy.

Abstract

Industri pariwisata tidak hanya mencakup destinasi wisata tetapi juga hotel, seperti pengelolaan hotel dan pengelolaan pariwisata. Hotel adalah suatu usaha penginapan yang menyediakan jasa penginapan, makanan dan minuman, serta jasa penunjang lainnya, baik sebagian maupun seluruhnya, kepada masyarakat umum dan dioperasikan secara komersial. Housekeeping tidak hanya menjaga kebersihan dan ketertiban, tetapi juga membantu menciptakan lingkungan yang mendukung kenyamanan dan keselamatan para tamu. housekeeping atau tata graha merupakan aspek penting dalam banyak bidang, khususnya dalam industri perhotelan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini memberikan hasil analisis terkait dengan peran housekeeping dalam menciptakan suasana nyaman dan aman di Planet Holiday Hotel & Residence Batam. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif. Hasil yang diperoleh, bahwa housekeeping memiliki peran yang sangat vital dalam menciptakan suasana nyaman dan aman di hotel, beberapa aspek penting dari peran housekeeping diantaranya pada aspek kebersihan dan ketertiban, keselamatan dan keamanan, serta pemberian layanan yang ramah dan professional. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa di Planet Holiday Hotel & Residence Batam sudah memberikan suatu pelayanan yang sangat baik terhadap para tamu. Selain itu, ditinjau dari hotel sendiri juga menyediakan layanan training housekeeping untuk meningkatkan keterampilan dari para pegawai di Planet Holiday Hotel & Residence Batam

Abstract

Marine attractions like Viovio Beach in Batam are a big part of the tourism industry, which is a vital part of regional economies. How pleasant and relaxing the surrounding area is has a significant impact on how satisfied tourists are. Examining how the natural setting and amenities at Viovio Beach affect visitors' happiness is the primary goal of this research. With the use of questionnaires sent out to 150 participants, a descriptive and quantitative approach was used. Multiple regression tests, as well as tests for validity and reliability, classical assumptions, and SPSS, were used to analyze the data. Tourist satisfaction is partly and concurrently impacted by environmental ambiance and comfort, according to the results. With an Adjusted R² value of 0.677, these factors explain 67% of the variation in satisfaction, with comfort being the most important component. The findings show that cleanliness, safety, and helpful staff are the three most important factors in creating memorable experiences for tourists. According to the research, if you want your location to be more competitive and promote sustainable tourism, you need to focus on making the atmosphere more comfortable and pleasant.

Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance the capacity of the Pulau Bulang community in tourism marketing through social media and digital platforms for the promotion of cultural heritage and mangrove ecotourism. Pulau Bulang possesses significant natural and cultural tourism potential; however, limited digital literacy and inadequate tourism marketing strategies have constrained its visibility and development as a sustainable tourism destination. The program was implemented using a participatory and community-based approach, involving local community members, youth groups, and tourism-related stakeholders. The activities were conducted through a series of mentoring sessions, interactive discussions, and hands-on practices focusing on digital content creation, social media utilization, and basic destination branding. Participants were guided to directly apply digital marketing concepts by producing and sharing tourism-related content that highlights local cultural heritage and mangrove ecosystems. Evaluation was carried out through observation, participant feedback, and assessment of digital outputs produced during the program. The results indicate an improvement in community awareness and skills in utilizing digital platforms for tourism promotion. Participants demonstrated increased confidence and ability to promote Pulau Bulang as a tourism destination in a more structured and sustainable manner. This program contributes to strengthening community participation in tourism development and supports sustainable tourism principles through the integration of environmental conservation, cultural preservation, and digital-based promotion strategies.

Abstract

This study examines the negative experiences of guests staying at TRC Bintan Resort, focusing on the quality of basic services and the physical condition of the property. The analysis was conducted using a descriptive qualitative approach, based on a narrative review of online reviews containing complaints about room sanitation, infrastructure damage, and environmental discomfort. The results revealed systemic failures, including weak hygiene standards, facility degradation, and inadequate management of the resort environment, which directly impacted guest perceptions of value and emotions. These findings reinforce the existence of a total quality gap arising from the mismatch between guest expectations and service realities. Using the SERVQUAL framework and the Kano Model, this study identified that most issues centred on the basic needs dimension, which must be met in the hospitality industry. This study contributes to the hospitality management literature by highlighting the importance of preventative maintenance, service quality monitoring, and the integration of environmental sustainability principles as strategies for rehabilitating resort reputations in tropical coastal areas.

Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance the capacity of homestay and guesthouse managers in Bintan Island, Riau Islands Province, in utilizing digital marketing and branding strategies to strengthen the competitiveness of community-based tourism enterprises. The program was conducted using participatory and applicative approaches through a two-day training held on 5–6 November 2025, involving 40 participants consisting of homestay managers, guesthouse operators, and local tourism practitioners. The training materials focused on three main topics: social media and Online Travel Agent (OTA) promotion, photo and video–based visual storytelling, and branding strategies for building business image and online reputation. Evaluation results indicate a significant improvement in participants’ knowledge and skills, with an average post-training score of 3.75 (categorized as good to very good). Participants were able to apply digital marketing techniques more effectively, produce engaging and authentic visual content, and manage their online image and reputation more professionally. The program also strengthened participants’ digital literacy and branding capabilities, while fostering a collaborative network among homestay managers for promoting community-based tourism in Bintan Island. Overall, this training contributes positively to enhancing the competitiveness of local homestays and supports the development of sustainable, technology-driven tourism in the region.
