Abstract

Abad 21 ditandai dengan perubahan yang sangat cepat akibat teknologi digital, termasuk bidang pendidikan. Guru harus berinovasi agar dapat menciptakan kondisi yang mendorong siswa berkembang daya pikir kritis, kreatif, komunikatif, dan kolaboratif. Guru SMP Muhammadiyah 8 Kota Batu perlu dikembangkan kreativitasnya agar dapat mengembangkan daya kritis dan kreatif siswa. Tujuan kegiatan ini melatih dan mendampingi guru mengembangkan kreativitasnya dalam merancang dan melaksanakan pembelajaran HOTS untuk mengembangkan daya kritis dan kreatif siswa. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan dengan metode pendampingan dan pelatihan model pembelajaran inovatif berbasis HOTS melalui lesson study for learning community bagi guru Matematika, Bahasa Indonesia, dan IPA. Hasil kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan dan pendampingan pembelajaran inovatif berbasis HOTS melalui pendampingan lesson study kolaboratif (Lesson Study for Learning Community) guru-guru lebih kreatif dalam merancang, melaksanakan pembelajaran, dan evaluasi secara HOTS. Guru kreatif memilih permasalahan untuk mengembangkan kemampuan siswa mengidentifikasi masalah dalam belajar; merancang langkah-langkah pembelajaran yang dapat membimbing siswa berpikir kritis dan kreatif;  memilih dan merancang bahan ajar, mengembangkan, dan memanfaatkan media pembelajaran;  dan menyusun instrument penilaian pembelajaran untuk memandu siswa belajar dan berpikir tingkat tinggi. Di samping itu, guru menjadi lebih terbuka dengan sesama kolega dalam merancang dan melaksanakan pembelajaran, bahkan dalam merefleksi pembelajaran.

Abstract

Literature and politics come from the results of interactions between humans with one another. Politics and humans have a relationship with each other. The aims of this study are (1) representation of political conflict (2) the causes of political conflict and (3) the impact of political conflict in the novel. The object used is the novel Lantern Batukaru by Putu Setia. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method, explaining the facts that occur in the novel. The data collection technique is a note-taking technique by reading the entire contents of the novel, then taking notes on important things that can support the research. Data analysis is done by interpreting the data in accordance with the theory. The results of this study indicate that (1) there was a political conflict that occurred during the New Order era which was dominated by party power and suppression due to ideological differences between parties (2) the factors causing political conflict were the dissemination of information that was not known to be true so that it harmed and caused victims. soul (3) the impact of political conflict in the presence of murder, crackdown and sexual harassment committed on minors.

Abstract

Literacy competencies are important for students to keep abreast of the pace in the 4.0 industrial age. Misunderstanding of the concept of literacy may result in the incorrect application of literacy acculturation. This study is aimed at 1) describing teachers’ misconceptions of reading literacy and 2) describing the implementation of students’ reading literacy acculturation at school. Data were collected from teachers’ and students’ statements and activities during the literacy acculturation activities in the participating schools from 19 regencies in East Java, Indonesia. Additional data were in the forms of documents and field notes obtained from observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentary studies. The results show that: 1) the concept of literacy is understood as literal and mechanistic reading, and 2) schools tend to apply formal literacy activities by asking students to read texts 15 minutes before classes begin. Several problems are found in most research sites in which there is no follow-up on the given free reading assignments, teachers and school principals neither become literacy models, the availability of fiction and non-fiction books is limited, and students are not highly motivated to follow the reading literacy program. This study implies the urgent need to improve all school stakeholders understanding of the literacy concept and provide better activities for the implementation of the reading literacy acculturation program in schools.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Sebagai calon mahasiswa calon guru harus terbebas dari miskonsepsi, pemahaman konsep sangat diperlukan dalam pembelajaran dan juga dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, jika pemahaman konsep kuat maka siswa dapat berkembang dan memahami konsep yang lebih tinggi, pentingnya menganalisis miskonsepsi khususnya pada materi bioteknologi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis miskonsepsi bioteknologi pada mahasiswa pendidikan biologi dalam penerapan model STM. Jenis penelitian ini termasuk penelitian deskriptif yang berfungsi untuk mendeskripsikan miskonsepsi yang terjadi pada siswa. Teknik pengambilan sampel penelitian ini adalah purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah pre-test dan post-test. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah tes penguasaan konsep yang dilengkapi dengan angket keyakinan terhadap jawaban dengan skala likert. Teknik analisis data penelitian menggunakan teknik Certainty of Response Index (CRI) dan persentase tingkat miskonsepsi. Hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa mahasiswa mengalami miskonsepsi pada pengetahuan awalnya sebesar 37,8 % berada pada kategori sedang, sedangkan pada hasil analisis setelah pembelajaran melalui penerapan model STM mahasiswa mengalami miskonsepsi dengan menunjukkan nilai sebesar 55,2 % pada kategori tinggi. Temuan yang diperoleh adalah penerapan model STM dapat menimbulkan miskonsepsi pada mahasiswa pendidikan biologi.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi dalam proses pembelajaran yang terjadi begitu masif memberikan berbagai kemudahan bagi para pelakunya. Seiring dengan perkembangan tersebut, akhir-akhir ini penggunaan mesin terjemahan online mencuri perhatian bagi sebagian besar penerjemah ataupun mahasiswa dalam menyelesaikan tugas mentransfer informasi, ide, ataupun pesan dari satu bahasa ke bahasa lainnya. Aplikasi terjemahan menjadi sebuah media yang menarik karena memiliki banyak fitur yang memberikan kemudahan-kemudahan bagi para penggunanya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan informasi terkait dengan kesalahan-kesalahan dalam menerjemahkan sebuah teks berbahasa inggris ke dalam bahasa Indonesia dengan menggunakan mesin terjemahan yang dilakukan oleh mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris Fakultas Pendidikan dan Vokasi Universitas Lancang Kuning. Metode penelitian yang digunakan ialah deskriptif kuantitatif dengan sumber data pada penelitian ini ialah teks report yang disadur dari sumber cnn.com dengan judul artikel Authorities find Boat of Slain British Journalist and Indigenous Expert in Brazilian Amazon. Adapun hasil dari penelitian ini ialah terdapat kesalahan pada aspek sintaktik sebanyak 73 dengan tingkat persentasi 14.5 % dan kesalahan pada aspek leksikal sebanyak 447 dengan tingkat persentasi sebesar 85.5 %. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa dalam menerjemahkan, keberadaan sebuah media atau alat yang dikenal sebagai mesin terjemahan pada dasarnya adalah sebuah alat bantu yang mana untuk mencapai hasil terjemahan yang memenuhi standar akurasi, keberterimaan, dan keterbacaan, seorang penerjemah harus tetap menggunakan pengetahuan dan keterampilannya dalam memoles kalimat ataupun teks sehingga mampu menghasilkan terjemahan yang berkualitas sesuai dengan standar.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi persepsi mahasiswa terhadap permasalahan di dalam keterampilan menyimak. Metode penelitian ini adalah quantitative dengan pendekatan survey. Populasi dalam penelitian ini melibatkan mahasiswa pendidikan bahasa Inggris dari semester 2,4,6 dimana mahasiswa tersebut sudah belajar mata kuliah keterampilan menyimak. Kuesioner/angket yang diadopsi dari (Bingol et al., 2014) digunakan sebagai instrument penelitian ini dalam pengumpulan data. Kemudian Data yang diperoleh dari angket dianalisis dengan menggunakan SPSS untuk mencari statistik deskriptif seperti Mean dan Standard Deviation (SD). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kecenderungan atau tingkat persetujuan mahasiswa terhadap permasalahan dalam pembelajaran menyimak berada pada level persepsi “Menengah” atau “Moderate” dengan skor Mean 3,26 (SD 0,558). Hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa persepsi mahasiswa terhadap permasalahan dapat ditemukan cara atau metode pembelajaran yang efektif.

Abstract

Some teachers have a lot of strategies in the learning and teaching process in English class, but only a few teachers link local culture into the learning process in their class, meanwhile the teacher's strategies is an important role in improving students' ability to learn English containing local culture. The design used in this research is a type of narrative inquiry research with a qualitative approach. which is held in the intensive course class of the faculty of teacher training and education in January 2022. The subject of this research is an English teacher who teach in the intensive class at the Faculty of Education and Vocational Studies, Universitas Lancang Kuning. Then, the data from the observations and interviews were analyzed. Based on the results of the interview, the teacher applies information about local culture into eight techniques or strategies; brainstorming, contextualizing topics, conducting class discussions, creating video projects, looking for references/literature, designing lesson syllabus, selecting textbooks, drilling topics. The researcher found that these techniques had an impact on increasing students' ability to learn English with local culture. The findings of this study revealed that bringing local culture in English language teaching gave a significant effect on the students' ability in learning English with local culture at intensive course class. The idea of ​​bringing local culture in the classroom was in line with the implementation of Contextual Teaching and Learning approach. During the teaching and learning process, the students not only learned a foreign language but also became aware of preserving their local culture.

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the use of the Project Based Learning (PJBL) learning model on the motivation of biology education students at the Muhammadiya Sorong Education University. This research was carried out in semester 4 in classes 4.1 and 4.2 at the Muhammadiyah University of Education, Sorong, academic year 2022/2023. The research design used was Quasi Experiment Pretest Posttest Control Group Design. In Quasi Experiment Pretest Posttest Control Group Design, the experimental and control groups are selected randomly. Data collection was carried out through pretest, posttest and observation sheets. Based on the results of research in the control class, the average overall score of the control class motivation indicators was 2.35, including in the medium category with a percentage of 57.47%. Meanwhile, in the experimental class there was a significant difference between the class given conventional learning and the class given Project Based Learning (PJBL). Student motivation appears to have increased. The questionnaire value of 2.51 is included in the high category with a percentage of 60.13%. Thus, learning with the Project Based Learning (PJBL) model can be said to increase the learning motivation of 4th semester students in the Biology Education Department at the Muhammadiyah Sorong University of Education.

Abstract

At English Education Department of Education and Vocational Studies Faculty of Universitas Lancang Kuning, it was found that the students had low speaking skills. One of the factors is the students’ hesitation in making mistakes, especially mistakes in grammar. It was Classroom Action Research (CAR). The aimed of this research was to improve the students’ low speaking skills by using TENANT (Teaching English with Natural Acting and Natural Talking) and Real Object. This research had been carried out since February until April 2022. It had three cycles and five meetings within it. There were 24 students all of them who were taught to speak English by using TENANT and Real Object. It was found that there was improvement of the students’ speaking skills under the use of TENANT and Real Object which were based on the students’ speaking based score with their scores from cycle I, II, and cycle III. In conclusion, TENANT and Real Object can help the students to improve their speaking skills. This finding implies that the use of TENANT and Real Object can be used to enhance the students’ speaking skill in English speaking class.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: The integration of TikTok as a tool in English language learning has rapidly expanded due to its engaging, short-form video format and the platform’s ability to foster creativity, student participation, and peer interaction. Despite this growth, limited scholarly attention has been paid to the digital ethical challenges posed by TikTok’s use in educational settings, particularly those related to data privacy, algorithmic bias, content moderation, and disinformation. Methodology: This research employs a systematic literature review approach, synthesizing findings from relevant studies on TikTok in education, with emphasis on English language instruction. The selection process follows PRISMA guidelines to ensure comprehensive and unbiased coverage of relevant literature. Main Findings: Findings indicate that TikTok significantly enhances learners’ speaking, listening, and digital communication skills while encouraging collaborative and socially interactive learning environments. However, ethical issues—such as exposure to inappropriate content, misinformation, lack of algorithm transparency, and student data vulnerabilities—emerge as critical concerns that require careful pedagogical management. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study presents a novel conceptual framework for integrating TikTok into English language education ethically and responsibly, positioning it at the intersection of digital pedagogy and media ethics. It advocates for the inclusion of digital literacy and ethics training within the curriculum to equip educators and students to engage with social media tools in a more informed and secure manner.
