Abstract

All manufacturing processes must begin with a design in the manufacture of products, including the thermoforming process. The thermoforming process has several stages in product design, namely: thermoforming product design and mold design. The mold is an illustration of the shape of the thermoforming product that will be made. The Vacuum Forming Department at PT SM Engineering received a request from customers to manufacture plastic packaging trays for cable sub-assembly products with part number NA100715R2-1. Based on this, the researcher intends to conduct research on product design and plastic packaging tray molds using the Design for Manufacture and Assemby (DFMA) method. Based on the DFMA analysis of the initial design, the components that make up the vacuum forming mold are 108 components with a weight of 23.95 kg, a total machining time of 22.16 hours and a total cost of Rp20,945,984. From the results of the initial design evaluation, a new design of vacuum forming molds was obtained. The new design designed was analyzed using DFMA and the results obtained that the components that make up the vacuum forming mold are 94 components with a weight of 23.05 kg, a total machining time of 18.91 hours and a total cost of Rp18.962.891. From the initial design and the newly designed vacuum forming design, after being compared based on the processing parameters, the best new design was selected.

Abstract

There are a number of activities that are carried out manually and encourage an individual to have competence in the muscles and bones. However, the competence possessed by an individual is very limited so that when carrying out activities manually, it is not uncommon for complaints to occur in the muscles, namely Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs). the activitiy at PT Triplus Hitech are still manual, especially in the process before and after mixing the resin material, therefore there are a number of complaints on this activity. The purpose of this analysis is to see the subjective complaints of MSDs, the ergonomics risk ratio and the relationship between age, work posture, body mass index, smoking behavior in MSDs complaints. The media used is NBM questionnaires, pictures of work postures and questionnaires on worker characteristics. in the NBM questionnaire, the subjective complaint most felt was in the waist with a value of 40 (100%). in this analysis using the REBA method with calculations carried out to obtain high risk level data, namely in groups before the resin material mixing process an average of 11 and in the section after the resin material mixing process The average is 9.3. According to the results of analysis tests related to a number of complaints on MSDs including age, body posture and body mass ratio, it has a significance value of <0.05, and that which is not related to MSDs complaints, namely smoking has a significance value of > 0.05.

Abstract

The role of humans as still has a big impact in every industrial action. Unlike machines that can be repaired by humans as workers, they still have limitations. Manual and repetitive work has a high risk of MSDs complaints due to manual work facilities. Tofu drying activities at the Tahu Awi Saguba UKM during tofu drying have the potential to pose a risk of MSDs because it is carried out manually, repeatedly with simple work facilities and non-ergonomic work postures. This study begins with the calculation of the NBM questionnaire. Research achievements show that there are complaints on the neck, shoulders, upper arms, back, waist, elbows, forearms, wrists and hands. The average achievement of the work risk score with REBA is 6 which is moderate and requires corrective action. In an effort to reduce this risk, a trolley rack design was carried out by implementing the EFD method. The achievements of the trolley rack design according to the ergonomic aspects, namely; ENASE. With the priority of designing a trolley rack to reduce pain in workers with weight (0.333) and a trolley rack specification target designed in harmony with worker anthropometry. Anthropometric data used during this design are TB, TSB, LB and GT.
