Abstract

This study aims to analyze the product diversification strategy implemented by Pegadaian Purwokerto Branch and its impact on the company's financial stability. A qualitative descriptive approach was applied using a case study method through structured interviews, direct observations, and internal document analysis. The research also integrates the General Electric (GE) Matrix to map the business strength and market attractiveness of each diversified product. The findings reveal that Pegadaian’s diversified products—such as gold savings, vehicle financing, and Hajj/Umrah financing—have significantly contributed to expanding market reach and increasing revenue. This success is supported by comprehensive feasibility studies, structured risk management systems, and the operational role of branch-level human resources. Nevertheless, challenges remain, particularly in service digitalization and HR readiness. This research contributes both theoretically and practically to product development strategies in financial services, especially for state-owned enterprises seeking sustainable business growth through data-driven diversification.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital transformation, coupled with the increasing intensity of competition in the financial industry, compels banking institutions to implement appropriate strategies to enhance their competitiveness—particularly in serving the micro and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) segments. This study aims to analyze the application of the Strategic Position and Action Evaluation (SPACE) Matrix as a tool for formulating effective marketing strategies at Bank BRI Unit Sokaraja Tengah.By employing a qualitative approach through direct observation and interviews, this research evaluates four key dimensions within the SPACE Matrix framework: Financial Strength (FS), Competitive Advantage (CA), Environmental Stability (ES), and Industry Strength (IS). The analysis results indicate that FS scored 5, CA scored 4, ES scored 4, and IS scored 3. Collectively, these scores position Bank BRI Unit Sokaraja Tengah within the aggressive quadrant.These findings suggest that the bank unit possesses strong internal capabilities and significant external opportunities for continued growth and innovation. Based on this strategic positioning, the recommended strategies include: strengthening digital service innovation, enhancing customers' financial literacy, and fostering active collaboration with the SME community. The implementation of this aggressive strategy is expected to reinforce the bank's competitive position and sustainably support growth in the microeconomic sector.

Abstract

The study analyzes the business strategy of UPC Pegadaian Pasar Bumiayu using the SERVO approach (Strategy, Environment, Resources, Values, Organization). The findings indicate that Pegadaian has developed adaptive and innovative strategies through service digitalization, sharia-based products, as well as public education and strategic partnerships. Both internal and external environments are managed responsively, utilizing human resources and technology effectively. Organizational values promote a collaborative work culture and inclusive leadership. The evaluation shows that the SERVO approach helps Pegadaian remain competitive and relevant in the modern financial industry.

Abstract

This study intends to investigate the business model and product marketing strategy of BMT Dana Mentari Muhammadiyah Purwokerto using the Business Model Canvas (BMC) approach. The background of this research is rooted in the need for Islamic microfinance institutions to adapt amidst increasing competition, particularly in product development and marketing. The research uses a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through in-depth interviews with BMT management. The findings suggest that BMT Dana Mentari has implemented the nine elements of the BMC comprehensively, including community-based customer segmentation, strong Sharia-compliant value propositions, and marketing strategies such as direct outreach and personal selling. However, challenges remain, particularly in service digitalization and promotional efforts. The implications of this study highlight the importance of continuous innovation in Sharia-based products and marketing strategies to enhance competitiveness and institutional sustainability.

Abstract

The Balanced Scorecard (BSC) approach enables a more holistic performance evaluation by considering non-financial aspects as equally important as financial indicators. Findings from this study indicate that PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BSI) has not only achieved strong financial performance following the merger, but has also demonstrated significant progress in other strategic dimensions. From the financial perspective, BSI recorded solid profitability with an average Net Profit Margin (NPM) of 25.01%, Return on Assets (ROA) of 2.27%, and Return on Equity (ROE) of 17.16%, consistently exceeding the national banking industry average. In the customer perspective, the increase in the number of customers—reaching over 20 million by mid-2024—reflects BSI’s success in building customer loyalty and satisfaction, including through digital service innovations and enhanced banking accessibility. From the internal business process perspective, operational efficiency has continued to improve, as evidenced by the declining BOPO ratio, strengthened information technology systems, and strategic expansion through the opening of a branch in Dubai as a first step toward the international stage. Meanwhile, in the learning and growth dimension, BSI has shown a strong commitment to human resource development through training and skill enhancement, reinforcement of a work culture based on the core values of AKHLAK (Trustworthy, Competent, Harmonious, Loyal, Adaptive, and Collaborative), and digital transformation through the launch of the BYOND by BSI SuperApp. By consistently integrating all four BSC perspectives, BSI has not only enhanced its overall performance but also strengthened its foundation for long-term growth. The BSC approach has proven to be a strategic and effective tool for comprehensively, sustainably, and adaptively evaluating and directing the performance of Islamic financial institutions in an evolving landscape.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the risks and strategies in consumer financing distribution at Bank Mega Finance Syariah Purwokerto using a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) approach. Islamic financial institutions play a significant role in supporting community economic activities through financing products based on sharia principles. However, in practice, these institutions also face various challenges such as late installment payments, unauthorized transfer of financed assets, and intense competition in the financial services market. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method through direct observation and in-depth interviews with internal company parties, particularly the collection department. The results indicate that the main strength of Bank Mega Finance Syariah Purwokerto lies in its diverse financing services, including cash loans, vehicle financing, and smartphone credit. Its weaknesses include the risk of payment arrears and potential losses caused by customers who pawn or sell financed items. The institution’s opportunities are in market expansion through digital-based leasing registration applications, while its threats involve high competition and strict consumer protection regulations. These findings provide strategic recommendations for strengthening risk management and improving the quality of sharia-compliant financing services in Purwokerto and its surrounding areas.

Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan program Optimalisasi Estetika Kampung Ilmu di Desa Sered, Kecamatan Madukara, Kabupaten Banjarnegara, sebagai sarana edukasi dan informasi bagi masyarakat. Program ini dirancang untuk menjawab permasalahan rendahnya literasi, kurangnya kesadaran lingkungan, serta belum optimalnya fungsi Kampung Ilmu sebagai pusat pembelajaran berbasis kearifan lokal. Metode yang digunakan adalah Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) yang menekankan pada penggalian dan pemanfaatan aset lokal melalui partisipasi aktif masyarakat. Pelaksanaan kegiatan meliputi pembuatan dan penataan pojok baca, pemasangan plang informasi edukatif mengenai pengelolaan sampah, serta penanaman bibit sayuran. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan adanya peningkatan estetika lingkungan, tumbuhnya kesadaran masyarakat terhadap pentingnya literasi dan kebersihan lingkungan, serta penguatan kemandirian pangan melalui pemanfaatan pekarangan. Keterlibatan masyarakat dalam setiap tahap pelaksanaan terbukti menumbuhkan rasa kepemilikan sehingga program dapat berkelanjutan meskipun kegiatan KKN telah berakhir. Dengan demikian, program ini tidak hanya meningkatkan kualitas lingkungan fisik Kampung Ilmu, tetapi juga memperkuat peranannya sebagai ruang edukasi, informasi, dan pemberdayaan masyarakat yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the marketing strategy of the Multi-Service Ijarah product at BMT Mentari Bumi Panican, Purbalingga, using a SWOT analysis approach. The Multi-Service Ijarah is a service-based financing product used for non-asset needs such as education, healthcare, and other urgent expenses. Despite its great potential, the utilization rate remains low, accounting for only 19% of the total financing distributed. This research applies both descriptive quantitative and qualitative methods, through questionnaires and interviews with BMT's internal parties. The findings reveal that the main strengths of BMT lie in its fast and friendly service process and the provision of customer education regarding the contract. Its weaknesses include limited socialization and insufficient use of digital technology. Opportunities exist in fulfilling emergency financial needs, particularly for customers requiring flexible repayment options. However, threats arise from the public's lack of understanding of the Ijarah concept and competition from more recognized and accessible financial institutions and Islamic fintech platforms. Based on the identified SWOT factors, the study recommends strengthening promotional strategies, leveraging digital tools, and enhancing community education to improve competitiveness and market penetration of the Multi-Service Ijarah product. This research is expected to contribute to developing more effective marketing strategies in Islamic microfinance institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the performance of KSPPS BKK Bersama Kami Kasembadan through the application of the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) framework, which comprises four fundamental perspectives: financial, customer, internal processes, and learning and growth. Employing a descriptive quantitative methodology, the data utilized in this research were obtained from the cooperative’s financial statements and internal records spanning the years 2021 to 2024. The results indicate that the cooperative was able to maintain its financial ratios in alignment with the benchmarks established by Bank Indonesia. Moreover, the adoption of door-to-door service strategies and the continuous implementation of employee training programs contributed to enhanced service quality and organizational capability. In conclusion, the use of the BSC served as an effective strategic tool in evaluating and reinforcing the cooperative’s performance in accordance with sharia principles.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the influence of unemployment, education and inflation on poverty in Indonesia for the 2014-2020 period, either partially or simultaneously. Type of quantitative research with secondary data sources, namely those originating from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). The total population of 34 provinces in Indonesia, the entire population was used as a sample or saturated sample. Meanwhile, the data analysis technique is multiple regression analysis. The results of this research show that the unemployment and inflation variables partially have a positive and significant effect on poverty in Indonesia for the 2014-2020 period with a t-count value of 2.326 > 1.6586 (t-table) and a significance value of 0.022 < alpha (0, 05) and the t-count value is 2.118 > 1.6586 (t-table) and the significance value is 0.036 > alpha (0.05). Meanwhile, the education variable partially has no effect on poverty in Indonesia for the 2014-2020 period because the t-count value is 1.486 < 1.6586 (t-table) and the significance value is 0.140 > alpha (0.05). Simultaneously, unemployment, education and inflation have a positive and significant effect on poverty in Indonesia for the 2014-2020 period with an f-count value of 909.066 > 2.686 (F-table) with a significance value of 0.000 < alpha (0.05).
