Abstract

This study aims to describe the level of information literacy competency of students using the MIL Concept and Application Model scheme at SMP Negeri 29 Padang. This study uses quantitative research with descriptive methods. The population of this study was students of SMP Negeri 29 Padang with a total of 288 students, while the sample used the proportion formula, namely 72 students. The instrument used in this research is test questions. To analyze the data in this study using descriptive analysis with the frequency formula. The results showed that the level of information literacy competency of students based on indicators of formulating information needs earned an average score of 80.5. The indicator of using and accessing information gets an average score of 60.6. The indicator of using information ethically gets an average score of 77.7. The indicator of using ICT (technology, information, and communication get an average score of 85.4. Overall the level of students' information literacy ability gets an average score of 76 which indicates that the level of information literacy skills of students of SMP Negeri 29 Padang is considered good.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the impact of increasingly rapid technological developments, so that it affects the existence of libraries and archives in 50 Kota. The purpose of this study was to describe the context, content, communication, and connection of Instagram at the Library and Archives Service of 50 Kota Regency as a promotional media. This is a qualitative study that uses the descriptive method. Interviewing, observation, and documenting procedures are used to obtain data. Based on research findings and discussion, it shows that library promotion through social media Instagram has fulfilled two of the four elements used. The elements that are met are the application of communication and connection. Based on the research results the application of context or message content seen from the clarity and completeness of the message is not yet persuasive. The application of content or message packaging has not been running effectively, it can be seen from the uploaded content that is less varied and the appearance of the feed on the @perpustakaandaerah50k account is less attractive. The application of communication or interaction between the @perpustakaandaerah50k admin and followers has been going well, as can be seen from the comments and direct messages which were responded positively by the admin. And the application of the connection is also going well, as can be seen from the use of the hashtag feature in promotions through Instagram social media, making it easier for followers to get information.

Abstract

This study aims to describe kurenah activities as a media for promoting child services at the Padang Panjang City Library and Archives Service. This study uses descriptive qualitative research methods, with data collection techniques namely observation, interviews and documentation. The data analyst uses Miles and Huberman's model theory, namely data reduction, data presentation and verification. The results showed that kurenah activities as a media for promoting children's services at the Padang Panjang City Library and Archives Service could make children and parents visit children's services by: (a) attracting the attention of children and parents supported by services. children's librarians, children's collections, children's service facilities, and service conditions; (b) generating interest (interest) of children and parents is carried out by holding supporting activities, such as the use of promotional media, and giving rewards; (c) desire (desire) arises as evidenced by children and parents asking when the activities are carried out and benefits obtained from participating in activities; (d) action obtained from kurenah activities as a media for promoting child services, namely increasing the number of visits to children's services and children who have never visited the library in the end visited the library.Penelitian ini bermaksud untuk mendeskripsikan kegiatan kurenah sebagai media promosi layanan anak di Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Kota Padang Panjang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif, dengan teknik pengumpulan data yaitu observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Analis data menggunakan teori Miles dan Huberman yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data dan verifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan kurenah sebagai media promosi layanan anak di Dinas perpustakaan dan kearsipan Kota Padang Panjang dapat membuat anak-anak dan orang tua berkunjung ke layanan anak dengan: (a) menarik perhatian (attention) anak-anak dan orang tua didukung dengan pelayanan pustakawan anak, koleksi anak, fasilitas layanan anak, dan kondisi layanan; (b) memunculkan ketertarikan (interest) anak-anak dan orang tua dilakukan dengan mengadakan kegiatan penunjang, seperti penggunaan media promosi, dan pemberian reward;(c) keinginan (desire) timbul dibuktikan oleh anak-anak dan orang tua menanyakan kapan pelaksanaan kegiatan dan manfaat yang diperoleh jika mengikuti kegiatan; (d) tindakan (action) di peroleh dari kegiatan kurenah sebagai media promosi layanan anak yaitu meningkatnya jumlah kunjungan pada layanan anak dan anak-anak yang tidak pernah mengunjungi perpustakaan pada akhirnya mengunjungi perpustakaan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan model bioskop mini dalam pengoptimalan keterampilan literasi sekolah. Model penelitian ini didukung oleh kurikulum sekolah yang disesuaikan dengan bahan ajar yang dipakai oleh SMKN 1 Padang Panjang. Alasan lainnya adalah guna mewujudkan keterampilan literasi sekolah bagi para siswa untuk dapat memahami mata pelajaran yang diajarkan oleh guru agar mudah dipahami. Setelah melakukan observasi lapangan, maka bentuk dari keterampilan literasi adalah model bioskop mini dalam pengoptimalan keterampilan literasi di SMKN 1 Padang Panjang. Media audiovisual dipilih dalam keterampilan sekolah dikarenakan media audiovisual dapat memberikan serta memperlihatkan tayangan secara langsung berupa gambaran peristiwa atau fenomena yang ditampilkan. Tujuannya agar peserta didik dapat menarik kesimpulan mengenai nilai pembelajaran yang dapat diambil dari cerita yang ditayangkan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah jenis penelitian dan pengembangan dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini merupakan metode penelitian dan pengembangan atau Research and Development (R&D) menggunakan metode 4D yang terdiri dari define, design, development, and disseminate. Prosedur pengembangan penelitian ada tiga tahap. Pertama, tahap persiapan. Kedua, tahap pelaksanaan. Ketiga, tahap evaluasi. Hasil dan temuan penelitian dapat disimpulkan pada perpustakaan SMKN 1 Padang Panjang memiliki perencanaan untuk melakukan update layanan perpustakaan setelah mendapat model bioskop mini menggunakan metode 4D sebagai pengoptimalan keterampilan literasi Siswa SMKN 1 Padang Panjang.

Abstract

The phenomenon of needing information regarding self-development is considered important. To meet these needs, the Instagram account @viviatal is an alternative. After the information needs are met, of course followers of the @viviatal account will get an information experience. This research aims to determine the information experience felt by followers of the Instagram account @viviatal. This research uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The information in this research was determined using a purposive sampling technique. Collection techniques were carried out by means of observation, interviews and documentation. The analysis technique used is thematic analysis technique, namely identifying patterns and forming new themes based on the data collected. The results of this research show that the Instagram account @viviatal (1) is the result of identifying sources of information, (2) becomes a media that plays a role, and (3) has an impact in increasing insight, consideration in decision making, and has a positive impact on followers of the Instagram account @viviatal.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the information literacy competency of generation Z mental health topics in the Digital Era (Case Study of Padang State University FBS Students). Information literacy competency is measured using the seven pillars SCONUL information literacy model with indicators: identify, scope, plan, gather, eval_uate, manage, and present. This research method is quantitative descriptive. The population of this research is FBS students class of 2020 totaling 1,080 population. The sample in this study amounted to 91 samples using the Slovin formula and the technique used was proportional random sampling. Data collection in this study used multiple choice test questions. Based on the research results, it is known that: (1) ability regarding identify is in the medium category with an average of 57.6; (2) ability regarding scope is in the medium category with an average of 56.7; (3) ability regarding plans is in the good category with an average of 61.9; (4) the ability to gather is in the medium category with an average of 58; (5) the ability to eval_uate is in the good category with an average of 67.7; (6) the ability to manage is in the good category with an average of 63; (7) ability regarding the present is in the good category with an average of 62.8. Overall the indicator obtained an average of 61.1 in the good category, this shows that students have information literacy skills on mental health topics.

Abstract

Literacy hegemony is currently formed by the cultural practices of the dominant social group, in this case, adult humans. The whole practice is seen from the eyes of adults as a form of the legitimacy of power. Since 2017 the phenomenon of children's involvement in literacy practices has increased. Even though children work together with adults in their operations, they are able to accommodate their needs well. This article tries to look at communication activities that occur in the phenomenon of children's involvement in literacy practices in the Province of the Special Region of Yogyakarta. The writing of this article is based on the theory of symbolic and sociocultural interaction with a constructivist approach. The research informants consisted of 5 elementary school children in the Special Region of Yogyakarta Province who had a consistent and measurable literacy trajectory and were involved in various literacy practices from 2017 to 2019. The results showed that communication activities in children involved in literacy practices partially begin early, intensely, and in a conducive communication environment. The presence of parents or adults around the child is decisive. Creating space for discussion and children's participation through play activities and text media forms interactions that help children's cognitive and affective development, encouraging children's involvement in literacy practices

Abstract

This study aims to describe: (1) Mobile Library Services at the Bukittinggi City Library and Archives Office given to Users, (2) User Satisfaction with Mobile Library Services at the Bukittinggi City Library and Archives Office. This type of research is qualitative with a descriptive method, informants in this study were selected using purposive sampling techniques. The data collection techniques carried out are observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques in this study are data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results of this study show that: (1) Mobile library services at the Library and Archives Service can be carried out by users openly, services can be used by users to borrow collections and read in places with the reading garden provided, as well as for member registration, and for reading park services users are not allowed to bring books and are required to read in a place with the facilities provided, and for users who are not yet permanent members can also use mobile library services, so as to make it easier for users; (2) The satisfaction of users with mobile library services at the Bukittinggi City Library and Archives Department is good. The library has implemented the dimensions of Reliability, Responsiveness, Assurance, Empathy, and Physical Evidence. From the dimension of user satisfaction, based on the results of direct research to the field, everything can be fulfilled with a good response from users and user satisfaction with mobile library services can be fulfilled.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengidentifikasi tingkat keusangan literatur yang disitir pada skripsi mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia tahun 2021. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Dari 42 skripsi sebagai populasi, 42 skripsi diambil sebagai sampel dengan menggunakan teknik slovin. Data dikumpulkan dengan studi pustaka atau studi dokumentasi dan dianalisis dengan teknik persiapan, tabulasi, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kebanyakan sitiran (64%) yang kurang dari tahun 2012 dianggap sudah usang, sedangkan sitiran yang lebih baru (35%) dinilai terkini/mutakhir. Tingkat keusangan literatur pada skripsi mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia adalah 9 tahun.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan optimalisasi layanan pojok baca di Perpustakaan UPT Universitas Andalas. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif deskriptif. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh mahasiswa aktif Universitas Andalas yang berjumlah 40.389 orang, dengan sampel sebanyak 100 responden. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner, dokumentasi, wawancara, dan studi literatur. Analisis data melibatkan uji validitas dan reliabilitas, pengujian hipotesis, dan dibantu oleh aplikasi SPSS versi 26.0. Tahapan penelitian termasuk pemeriksaan data (editing) dan tabulasi data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa layanan pojok baca secara signifikan meningkatkan minat mahasiswa untuk mengunjungi perpustakaan, dengan skor 3,25 dari skala 4. Secara spesifik, alasan penggunaan layanan pojok memperoleh skor 3,3, penilaian terhadap layanan memperoleh skor 3,31, hasil dari pemanfaatan layanan memperoleh skor 3,27, perhatian dalam meningkatkan minat kunjungan memperoleh skor 3,29, kesenangan dalam berkunjung memperoleh skor 3,29, dan kesediaan untuk berkunjung memperoleh skor 3,09. Semua skor ini berada dalam kategori tinggi hingga sangat tinggi, menunjukkan efektivitas layanan pojok baca dalam meningkatkan kunjungan perpustakaan di kalangan mahasiswa.
