Abstract

Mathematical problem-solving ability is one of the essential competencies that students must master. However, initial observations at SMP Negeri 1 Hiliduho revealed that students’ problem-solving skills are still relatively low, and Project Based Learning (PjBL)-based teaching materials have not yet been applied in the school. This study aims to develop a PjBL-based instructional module that is valid, practical, and effective in improving students’ mathematical problem-solving ability. The research was conducted using a development approach with the ADDIE model, which includes five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Research instruments consisted of expert validation questionnaires, practicality questionnaires for teachers and students, and a problem-solving test. The data collected were both qualitative and quantitative. Qualitative data were obtained from comments, suggestions, and feedback provided by validators, while quantitative data were derived from the results of validation scores, teacher and student responses, and students’ test results. The research findings showed that the developed learning module was highly valid, as evidenced by validation scores of 98% and 99% from two content experts, 96% from the language expert, and 98% from the design expert. The module was also considered highly practical, with a score of 90.63% from students and 93% from the teacher. Furthermore, the module proved effective in enhancing students’ mathematical problem-solving skills, with an average score of 80.25 (high category) and classical completeness of 83.33% (high category). In conclusion, the PjBL-based module developed in this study fulfilled the criteria of validity, practicality, and effectiveness, thus supporting the achievement of learning objectives.

Abstract

Initial observations at SMP Negeri 3 Alasa Talumuzoi revealed that students’ critical thinking skills were very low, and the available teaching materials were limited and highly dependent on the teacher. To address these issues, this study aimed to develop a problem-based learning (PBL) module that is valid, practical, and effective in improving students’ critical thinking skills. The research employed a development design using the ADDIE model, which includes five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Data collection instruments comprised learning outcome tests, validation questionnaires from material, language, and design experts, as well as teacher and student response questionnaires. Both quantitative and qualitative data were analyzed: quantitative data included validator scores, student and teacher responses, and learning outcomes, while qualitative data consisted of comments and suggestions on the developed module. The results demonstrated that the PBL module met validity criteria for content, language, and design. It was highly practical, with a student practicality score of 96% and a teacher practicality score of 92.8%. Furthermore, the module effectively improved students’ critical thinking skills, achieving an average score of 80.20%, categorized as very high, and a classical mastery percentage of 91.66%, categorized as very effective. In conclusion, the developed problem-based learning module fulfilled the research objectives and provides a reliable, practical, and effective tool for enhancing students’ critical thinking skills in mathematics.

Abstract

This study was motivated by observations at UPTD SMP Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli Selatan, which indicated that students’ creative thinking skills were very low and the available teaching materials were limited. Students often struggled to understand the material and relied heavily on the teacher, highlighting the need for more effective learning resources. The purpose of this research was to develop a Problem Posing-based learning module that is valid, practical, and effective in enhancing students’ creative thinking skills. This study employed a development research design using the ADDIE model, comprising analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. Data were collected using learning outcomes tests, validation questionnaires, and student response questionnaires, encompassing both quantitative and qualitative data. Quantitative data included validator scores, student responses, teacher feedback, and learning outcomes, while qualitative data comprised comments and suggestions from validators. The results showed that the developed module met validity criteria for content, language, and design. It was highly practical, with student practicality at 91.18% and teacher practicality at 96.42%. Furthermore, the module effectively improved students’ creative thinking, achieving an average score of 81.56%, categorized as very creative. In conclusion, the Problem Posing-based learning module successfully fulfilled the research objectives, providing a reliable, practical, and effective tool to support the development of students’ creative thinking skills in mathematics.

Abstract

Mahasiswa sering mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami konsep-konsep geometri transformasi karena sifatnya yang abstrak dan menuntut kemampuan berpikir visual serta logis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peningkatan pemahaman konsep dan motivasi belajar mahasiswa setelah penggunaan platform Quizizz sebagai media kuis dalam pembelajaran geometri transformasi. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan deskriptif kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian  adalah one-group pretest-posttest design. Data dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif dengan perbandingan skor sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 40 mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika di Universitas Nias. Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi tes uraian dan angket. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan skor rata-rata dari 48,40 pada pretest menjadi 86,50 pada posttest. Mahasiswa juga menunjukkan peningkatan motivasi dan keterlibatan belajar setelah penggunaan Quizizz. Temuan ini menunjukkan potensi penggunaan Quizizz sebagai media kuis yang mendukung pembelajaran matematika secara lebih interaktif dan bermakna. Penelitian ini berkontribusi pada pengembangan strategi evaluasi formatif berbasis teknologi dalam pendidikan matematika.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi berdasarkan hasil studi pendahuluan yang dilakukan peneliti di UPTD SMP Negeri 1 Moro’o. Ditemukan masalah yaitu (1) kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa masih kurang (2) kemampuan awal siswa belum optimal. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektifitas connected mathematics project terhadap kemampuan koneksi matematis ditinjau dari kemampuan awal UPTD SMP Negeri 1 Moro’o. Populasi penelitian ini adalah kelas VIII dan sampel penelian terdiri dari dua kelas yaitu kelas VIII-A sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VIII-B sebagai kelas kontrol di UPTD SMP Negeri 1 Moro’o yang berjumlah 57 siswa. Teknik pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik Nonprobability sampling. Jenis penelitan ini adalah kuantitatif dengan metode penelitian eksperimen semu (quasi eksperimen design), dan instrumen penelitian ini berbentuk uraian kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa. Hasil rata-rata tes dari kelas eksperimen diperoleh sebesar 71,75 dan kelas kontrol sebesar 59,57. Hasil ini menunjukan adanya peningkatan kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa yang dilihat dari rata-rata tes awal kelas eksperimen diperoleh sebesar 50,24 dan kelas kontrol sebesar 46,14. Dengan demikian, penggunaan model Connected Mathematics Project secara tepat oleh guru dan siswa dapat meningkatkan kemampuan koneksi matematis secara aktif, kreatif, dan kontekstual.

Abstract

This study is based on the results of a preliminary study conducted by researchers at UPTD SMP Negeri 7 Gunungsitoli, found problems, namely (1) the learning model in the classroom is less varied and (2) the lack of students' mathematical problemsolving abilities in solving mathematical problems. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the Multi Representation Discourse (DMR) learning model on the mathematical problemsolving abilities of students at UPTD SMP Negeri 7 Gunungsitoli. This type of research is quantitative research using a quasiexperimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The population of this study was grade VIII students and the research sample consisted of two classes, namely VIII-C as the experimental class and VIII-A as the control class. The instrument in this study was in the form of a mathematical problemsolving ability essay test. The results of the study obtained based on oneparty hypothesis testing obtained a tcount value = 5,283 and a ttable value = 1.678. Because tcount > ttable or 5,283> 1.678, reject H0 and accept Ha, which means "there is an influence of the Multi Representation Discourse (DMR) learning model on students' mathematical problemsolving abilities".

Abstract

This research was motivated by a preliminary study conducted at UPTD SMP Negeri 7 Gunungsitoli, which revealed that mathematics learning still employed conventional teaching models and that students' mathematical creative thinking skills were still relatively low. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of the Self-Directed Learning model on students' mathematical creative thinking abilities. The research method used was quantitative with a quasi-experimental approach and a pretest-posttest control group design. The population of the study was all eighth-grade students, with two classes selected through simple random sampling: class VIII-B (23 students) as the experimental group and class VIII-A (24 students) as the control group. The research instrument was an essay test designed to assess students' mathematical creative thinking skills. The results of the one-tailed hypothesis test showed that the calculated t-value was 5.118, which was greater than the t-table value of 1.682. Therefore, the null hypothesis (H₀) was rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (Hₐ) was accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that the Self-Directed Learning model has a significant effect on students' mathematical creative thinking abilities.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low mathematics learning outcomes among students, their limited engagement during the learning process, and the unappealing presentation of learning materials at SMP Negeri 4 Alasa. The purpose of this research was to examine the effect of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model on students' mathematics learning outcomes within the Merdeka Curriculum. This experimental study employed a quasi-experimental method using a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The research subjects included all seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 4 Alasa, with class VII-B (30 students) serving as the experimental group taught using the PjBL model, while class VII-A (30 students) served as the control group using conventional teaching methods. The instrument used was an essay-based learning outcome test comprising five questions. Data analysis results showed that the calculated t-value was greater than the critical t-value (4.855 > 1.671). Thus, H0 was rejected, and Hₐ was accepted, indicating that the implementation of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model had a significant effect on students' mathematics learning outcomes under the Merdeka Curriculum.

Abstract

Studi ini mengkaji berbagai literatur yang membahas hubungan antara budaya lokal dan pendidikan matematika, serta bagaimana pendekatan berbasis kearifan lokal dapat diterapkan dalam pembelajaran matematika. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi keterkaitan antara kearifan lokal dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika melalui studi pustaka. Integrasi kearifan lokal dalam pembelajaran matematika diyakini dapat memfasilitasi peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa. Pengumpulkan informasi diperoleh dari berbagai sumber tertulis seperti buku, artikel jurnal, dan laporan penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan konteks dari kearifan lokal membantu siswa memahami masalah secara lebih baik dan terlibat aktif dalam proses pemecahan. Integrasi kearifan lokal dalam proses pembelajaran matematika tidak hanya membuat pembelajaran lebih kontekstual dan relevan bagi siswa, tetapi juga mampu meningkatkan motivasi, pemahaman konseptual, dan keterampilan berpikir kritis serta kemampuan dalam memecahkan masalah. Selain itu, integrasi kearifan lokal membantu siswa menghargai manfaat matematika dalam kehidupan nyata. Studi ini menyarankan bahwa pendidik perlu lebih memperhatikan dan mengintegrasikan unsur-unsur kearifan lokal dalam kurikulum matematika untuk menciptakan pengalaman belajar yang lebih holistik dan bermakna bagi siswa.

Abstract

Studi awal menunjukkan bahwa: (1) kemampuan matematis siswa berada pada kategori cukup; dan (2) aktivitas pembelajaran belum terintegrasi teknologi. Oleh karena itu, dikembangkan video pembelajaran berbantuan doratoon dalam pembelajaran flipped classroom untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan video pembelajaran yang valid, praktis dan efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan model pengembangan ADDIE (analyze, design, development, implementation, evaluation). Instrumen dalam penelitian ini adalah tes hasil belajar, angket validasi ahli materi, angket validasi ahli bahasa, angket validasi ahli media, angket respon guru dan angket respon siswa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, video pembelajaran yang dikembangkan telah teruji dan dinyatakan valid baik dari segi validitas materi, validitas bahasa dan validitas media. Selanjutnya, video pembelajaran juga sangat praktis berdasarkan hasil angket respon guru dan angket respon siswa. Video pembelajaran yang dikembangan juga efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa terlihat dari nilai tes hasil belajar siswa. Sehingga, dapat disimpulkan bahwa video pembelajaran berbantuan doratoon dalam pembelajaran flipped classroom yang dikembangkan sudah memenuhi harapan atau tujuan penelitian.
