Abstract

Diversity requires an attitude of respect. However, formalism removes respect by reinforcing religion as a social identity that often causes social unrest and unrest, in discrimination or religious conflicts. In itself, religion is 'not wrong', but it is often blamed for its existence ability as an identity capable of driving social dynamics, in particular social conflicts. Because of its potential conflict, many discussions associate religious formalism with factors of religious emotion or sensitivity, the purpose of the organization in the name of religion, or its role in the conflict, as well as character education for the sake of the nation. Unlike previous research, this study wanted to look at religion and formalism in the perception of religious life and its influence on religious education. Given the focus on perceptions and excavations of religious life, a mixed methodology approach is a design choice in this study. The study conducted a survey of respondents' perceptions and views on four approaches to religious life. The data was collected, managed with the help of the application, as well as analyzed together with interview data against a sample of respondents. The results of the analysis are narrated discriptively in 4 topics: the view of life of faith in four approaches, exploring the richness of faith as a unique religion, the potential relativism of truth, the meaning of critical power. All of these topics have an impact on Catholic education and are an evaluation of educational political policies in managing religion in developing religious character.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The advancement of the electronic communication medium is still ongoing on occasion. This trend is consistent with people's occasionally growing desire for access to the internet. The Covid-19 pandemic has significantly altered many aspects of life, including interaction and religion. The capacity to adjust to these advancements in digital technology is likewise required of bishops, priests, nuns, and catechists. Incorporating media edification in catechesis as an alternative to catechizing media, catechists can employ social media. Social communication medium, for example can be through Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and others. The competencies of the catechists are necessary in order to use social media. Based on these issues, it's essential to provide counselling for the catechists.Keywords: social communicating media, catechists ABSTRAKMedia komunikasi digital terus mengalami perkembangan dari masa ke masa. Perkembangan ini sejalan dengan kebutuhan manusia akan dunia internet yang terus meningkat dari waktu ke waktu. Pandemi Covid-19 memberikan dampak yang cukup memengaruhi berbagai hal termasuk cara beribadah dan juga berkomunikasi. Para uskup, pastor, biarawan-biarawati termasuk para katekis juga harus dapat menyesuaikan diri dengan kemajuan-kemajuan teknologi digital ini. Termasuk memperbaharui media dalam berkatese. Para katekis dapat menggunakan media komunikasi sosial sebagai alternatif media berkatekese.  Media komunikasi sosial tersebut misalnya melalui Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, dan lain-lain. Untuk menggunakan media komunikasi sosial tersebut, diperlukan kecakapan dari para katekis. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, maka perlu dilaksanakan penyuluhan terkait pemanfaatan media komunikasi sosial dalam berkatekese yang bertujuan memberikan pengetahuan kepada para katekis tentang jenis-jenis media sosial yang dapat dimanfaatkan dalam berkatekese.  Kata Kunci: Media Komunikasi Sosial, Kateki

Abstract

As a communion of believers, the Catholic Church uses a variety of faith-enhancing strategies to uphold the beliefs of its members. One of those efforts is developing a local ecclesial lifestyle calledBasic Ecclesial Community. The Sintang Diocese employs the term “Lingkungan” (English: neighborhood) or "Kring" to foster faith at the local level. The “Lingkungan” and Basic Ecclesial Community have unique traits or indicators regarding their comprehension and application. This study aimed to determine whether the “Lingkungan” may develop into a Basic Ecclesial Community. The intention was to gain more recognition for the Basic Ecclesial Community as a fresh approach to spiritual development, particularly for the people who live in the Lingkungan Familia, Santo Ignatius Pala Island, Hati Santa Perawan Maria Tak Bernoda Parish, the Diocese of Sintang. The research method is descriptive-qualitative. This research uses observations and interviews as data sources. The subject is ten credible informants. Utilizing the theories from encyclical documents and scientific references, this research concludes that with all its potencies, Lingkungan Familia could flourish more by developing Basic Ecclesial Communities.

Abstract

Catechists preach the Bible through the practice of catechesis. The proclamation is carried out in a methodical and organic manner. Catechist actors, in particular, focus on evangelizing the general public, both clergy and laity. In the real-world development of the Christian faith, laypeople who become catechists have a complicated responsibility. Because they are directly involved in the lives of the people, they are at the forefront of the ministry work. They are also, in another sense, among people who share God's word with others. The lay catechists' experiences in life have become so ingrained in people's lives. The realities of today are extremely diverse. Even though they live in a time of globalization and modernity, there are still a lot of areas in which civilization has not been particularly developed. Border areas are in many cases being ignored, like places that are sometimes still harder to get to than the development of government centers, like roads that are hard to get to. Catechists face difficulties in providing services due to the scattered location of their service stations. To continue serving under the most difficult circumstances, the catechists need a spiritual spirit to support their efforts in developing religious education in this global world.

Abstract

The current article intends to discuss that human being sees war as inevitable reality in life. When human being wants to survive, he/she will fight for his/ her life. Sometimes, war is considered to be the final way to survive. People make war as factual reality, but do they really want to fight in war? On the progress, people constitute rule of war or war ethics. A true rule is an embodiment of hope to prevent worse damages caused by war. Love is the prior value in living a humane life. Human being expects more love. Humankind have made many deals to avoid war as far as possible. War is not necessary if there is another stronger value to influence people’s life.

Abstract

A war is an evitable reality in human life. In a basic review war is often considered as human’s natural condition. War is believed as evitable and natural. Further observation states that war is an unnatural situation. The theory of fair war and war law is the logical consequence towards this circumstance. The Church, as a part of the world citizen, also has view and outlook towards war. Post the second Vatican Council, the Church has opened itself more towards the problems happen in the world in order to take part in the attempt to resolve the world’s problems, including war. The Church issued the teaching of the Church via encyclical and the documents of the Church. This research is conducted to give the depiction of the Church’s view towards war. The method used in this research is literature review with the references from journal, books and Church’s directives, such as encyclical or the social teaching of the Church. This research is expected to be capable of being a guideline for the Christians in behaving towards war.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe goal of this Community Service Activity (PkM) is to increase awareness among Catholics living in border regions about the significance of Catholic religious education, by reaching out and showcasing the various opportunities for faith formation and education available through Catholic religious education in Malaysia's border areas. This activity utilizes a socialization approach through lectures and presenting material to help people comprehend and become aware of the significance of Catholic religious education. The community appeared highly enthusiastic in carrying out this PkM, as evidenced by the lively discussions between resource persons and participants. The audience raised numerous inquiries and gave feedback on the information presented by the speaker. Typically, individuals experience a sense of peace following prayer, however, there is still a shortage in comprehension of Catholic prayers. Religious ceremonies are forms of support that the Catholic Church specifically, as well as the government in general, can offer. The community benefits from educational staff like monthly visiting priests, teachers, as well as facilities like churches and schools. Many essential services, like repairing damaged roads and providing counseling, should still be effectively managed by the government.Keywords: Psyhcologies, Opportunities, ChallengesABSTRAKTujuan Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini adalah untuk memberi penyadaran kepada umat Katolik di wilayah perbatasan akan pentingnya pendidikan keagamaan Katolik melalui sosialisasi serta menyoroti peluang pembinaan dan pendidikan iman melalui pendidikan agama Katolik di wilayah perbatasan Malaysia. Kegiatan ini menggunakan pendekatan berupa sosialisasi yaitu dengan cara ceramah dan pemaparan materi dengan maksud memberikan pemahaman yang baik dan penyadaran umat agar memberi perhatian yang penuh akan pentingnya pendidikan keagamaan Katolik. Dalam pelaksanaan PkM ini masyarakat terlihat sangat antusias, hal ini terlihat dari dialog anatara narasumber dengan peserta yang terjadi begitu intens. Masyarakat banyak mengajukan pertanyaaan maupun mengomentari materi-materi yang diberikan oleh narasumber. Secara umum masyarakat mersakan tenang setelah berdoa namun disis lain pemahaman mengenai doa-doa katolik masih kurang. Pelayanan keagamaan merupakan tindakan perhatian yang dapat diberikan Gereja Katolik secara khusus dan juga oleh pemerintah secara umum. Pelayanan yang sudah diterima masyarakat disana ialah tersebut ketersediaan tenaga pendidik, seperti kunjungan Imam sebulan sekali, guru, dan fasilitas seperti Gereja, sekolah. Masih banyak pelayanan yang seharusnya maksimal dapat disediakan oleh pemerintah seperti jalan rusak yang harus diperbaiki untuk memudahkan pelayanan dan juga seperti penyuluhan yang dapat dilakukan oleh pemerintah setempat.Kata Kunci:, Psikologi, Peluang, Tantangan

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai dalam Sanghyang Siksakandang Karesian (SSK) ke dalam pendidikan agama Katolik, dengan fokus pada pengembangan karakter siswa. SSK, sebagai naskah moralitas Sunda, menawarkan pedoman hidup yang mengedepankan tanggung jawab sosial dan etika moral. Metodologi yang digunakan mencakup pendekatan kualitatif dengan analisis mendalam terhadap tiga bagian utama SSK: Dasa Kreta, Dasa Prebakti, dan karma ning hulun. Penelitian juga menelisik korelasi antara ajaran moral dalam SSK dan ajaran Katolik untuk menarik implementasinya dalam konteks pendidikan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat kesamaan signifikan antara ajaran moral dalam SSK dan prinsip-prinsip ajaran Katolik, terutama dalam hal tanggung jawab individu dan pengabdian kepada masyarakat. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa integrasi nilai-nilai ini dalam kurikulum pendidikan agama Katolik dapat mendorong siswa untuk lebih aktif berkontribusi dalam masyarakat, serta mengembangkan rasa empati dan kepedulian terhadap lingkungan sosial mereka. Signifikansi dari penelitian ini terletak pada kontribusinya terhadap pengembangan pendidikan agama yang relevan dengan konteks budaya lokal. Dengan memasukkan kearifan lokal, pendidikan agama Katolik tidak hanya menjadi proses transfer pengetahuan, tetapi juga pembentukan karakter yang berintegritas dan peduli terhadap kesejahteraan sosial. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan dasar bagi pengembangan kurikulum pendidikan agama yang lebih holistik dan kontekstual.
