Abstract

Covid-19 berdampak pada wisata di Indonesia, salah satunya pesisir di Desa Bomo Banyuwangi. Informasi yang didapat tim pengabdi bahwa sebagian besar masyarakat mengandalkan sumber daya laut sebagai mata pencaharian, ada pula yang berjualan di sekeliling kawasan pesisir. Kedua hal tersebut tidak bisa dilakukan masyarakat karena kondisi pandemi. Hal lain yang berpengaruh adalah Daerah Aliran Sungai (DAS) di Desa Bomo Blimbingsari Banyuwangi, yakni banyaknya sampah disekitar DAS dan rumput liar yang tumbuh di pinggiran tepi aliran sungai. Hal tersebut dikarenakan penduduk sekitar tidak melakukan pembersihan dan pemotongan rumput karena pemberlakuan PPKM di Banyuwangi. Seiring berjalannya waktu, dipertengahan tahun 2021 terjadinya penurunan Covid-19 di Banyuwangi, hal ini berdampak baik bagi sektor pembangunan, tidak lain bagi sektor pariwisata yang mengizinkan untuk melakukukan kegiatan berupa pertemuan dalam bentuk event dan festival. Hal ini yang membuat Pokdarwis Benteng Samudera (mitra) tergerak melakukan program kerja untuk menghidupkam kembali kawasan pesisir dan sungai Bomo.Upaya dalam menyelesaikan masalah yang dihadapi, tim pengabdi dan mitra sepakat membuat program bersama dalam bentuk bentuk Festival yang bertujuan meningkatkan kembali animo masyarakat luar dan dalam Banyuwangi untuk berkunjung ke Pantai Ria Bomo dan wisata sungai di era new normal, sehingga pelaku usaha setempat mendapatkan pemasukan dari berjualan disekeliling pantai. Tujuan lainnya adalah mewujudkan kemanfaatan sungai menuju masyarakat yang mandiri, sejahtera, dan lestari, melalui Festival Susur Sungai Tahun 2021.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui potensi antibakteri Staphylococcus aureus pada sabun batang dengan bahan baku rumput laut jenis Eucheuma cottonii, penelitian dilakukan di Lab.  FAPERTA Universitas PGRI Banyuwangi. Penelitian dimulai dengan mencari performa terbaik  pembuatan sabun dengan empat perlakuan diantaranya penggunaan E. cottoni sebanyak 15gr (P1), 30gr (P2), 45gr (P3), dan 60gr (P4). Tiap perlakukan dilakukan ulangan sebanyak empat kali kemudian dianalisis ANOVA yang bertujuan untuk menentukan perbedaan signifikan antara perlakuan dan parameter uji pada sabun. Pengujian untuk mengetahui karakteristik sabun diantaranya uji antibakteri pada S. aureus dan uji kimia (kadar air, kadar pH). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa P4 menghasilkan daya hambat atau luasan zona bening terbesar yaitu 2,4cm.  Analisis statistik menunjukkan perbedaan yang sangat signifikan antara perlakuan, terutama pada perlakuan P1 dan P4. Selain itu, perlakuan P4 juga memiliki kadar air terendah yaitu 26,63% dan pH tertinggi dengan nilai 10,75%. Disimpulkan bahwa E. cottonii berpotensi sebagai antibakteri pada produk sabun dikarenakan adanya kandungan senyawa bioaktif seperti alkaloid, flavonoid, tannin, dan steroid.Kata kunci: Uji Potensi, Antibakteri, Staphylococcus aureus, Sabun, Eucheuma cottoniiABSTRACTThis research aims to determine the antibacterial potential of S. aureus in bar soap made from Eucheuma cottonii seaweed as raw material. The research was carried out in FAPERTA laboratory PGRI University Banyuwangi. The research began by looking for the best performance in soap making with four treatments including the use of 15gr (P1), 30gr (P2), 45gr (P3), and 60gr (P4) E. cottonii. Each treatment was repeated four times and then analyzed by ANOVA which aimed to determine significant differences between treatments and test parameters for soap. Tests to determine the characteristics of soap include antibacterial tests on S. aureus and chemical tests (water content, pH level). The research results showed that P4 produced the largest resistance or clear zone area, namely 2.4 cm.  Statistical analysis showed very significant differences between treatments, especially in treatments P1 and P4. Apart from that, treatment P4 also had the lowest water content, namely 26.63% and the highest pH with a value of 10.75%. It was concluded that E. cottonii has the potential to act as an antibacterial in soap products due to the content of bioactive compounds such as alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins and steroids.Key words:  Potency Test, Antibacterial, Staphylococcus aureus, Soap, Eucheuma cottonii

Abstract

Seaweed is a marine plant that is found in many Indonesian waters. Seaweed has various types, one of which is Eucheuma cottonii seaweed.  So far, Eucheuma cottonii is only used as functional food in the food sector, but there are still few who use it as a functional drink. The purpose of this study was to determine the chemical characteristics of kombucha tea seaweed Eucheuma cottonii. The research method used is experimental. The results of the chemical characteristics obtained in the best treatment are treatment D (12%) with a total sugar content value of 7.67%, total ash content of 0.773%, polyphenol content of 0.177% and tannin content of 0.202%.

Abstract

Nata is the result of fermentation products by Avetobacter xylinum. If nata de coco is often found with coconut water media, then nata de fish is made with unused lemuru stew media and has the potential to be waste because it results in polluting the environment. This study aims to find out how to make nata by comparing the substitution of lemuru decoction to the quality of nata de fish. The study used factorial RAL with two factors, namely the use of clean water 1.5 L and 2 L, the results of the analysis on each parameter including, the interaction of treatment had a very real effect (p < 00.1) on thickness. Treatment interactions had a very real effect (p < 0.01) on the amendment. Treatment interactions had a very real effect (p > 0.01) on wet weight. Treatment interactions had a very noticeable effect (p > 0.01) on protein levels. The test results of the presence of Esecherichia coli in each treatment showed an average < 3 MPN/g.

Abstract

Mackarel tuna is one of the fish that is quite abundant in Banyuwangi, its existence in the Java and Bali seas is found throughout the month, therefore the use of mackerel tuna fish into processed food products is often made by the community. In addition to being a valuable product, mackerel tuna fish bones can be processed into other products that are useful in agriculture, namely organic liquid fertilizer. This study was conducted on a laboratory scale with four different treatments (length of fermentation time) including 5, 10, 15, and 20 days, where each treatment was repeated 4 times. The purpose of the study was to find out the best phosphorus and calcium content from four different treatments. The results of the study found that the best fermentation period of liquid organic fertilizer was on the 20th day of fermentation with a value of phosphorus (P) content of 0.091%, calcium (Ca) of 0.377%.

Abstract

The Logawa River is one of the rivers in Banyumas Regency, Central Java Province and flows from a spring in the Windusari, Kalisalak village. The flow of the Logawa River experiences a lot of waste input from various sources, such as sand mining waste and household waste. This allows for a decrease in water quality in the Logawa River. One way to determine water quality is by using biological parameters, for example macrozoobenthos. This research was conducted to determine the quality of water in the Logawa River based on the diversity of macrozoobenthos which was analyzed using the calculation of the Shannon Wiener Diversity Index (H') and Simpson Dominance Index (C). The sample collection method in this study was a field survey which was then observed using a stereo microscope. There are three sampling stations, namely the upstream, downstream and middle stations with two sampling times. The diversity index values obtained ranged from 0.62 - 1.89. The low value of the macrozoobenthos diversity index indicates the negative impact of the sand mining activity. The data obtained were then analyzed for the relationship between existing macrozoobenthos diversity and water quality using Pearson Correlation. Water quality parameters used include temperature, current velocity, pH, Dissolved Oxygen (DO), and Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD). The water quality parameter that has the most influence on macrozoobenthos diversity in the Logawa river is COD, with a correlation coefficient of -0.79 in the 1st sampler and -0.98 in the 2nd sampler. The results of the analysis show that the Logawa River is experiencing turbidity caused by sand mining activities

Abstract

Perkembangan dan pertumbuhan pada anak dapat dilakukan dengan mengkonsumsi makanan bergizi terutama di usia balita hingga sekolah dasar, hal tersebut merupakan upaya menjaga kesehatan anak dan menghasilkan sumber daya manusia yang berkualitas. Untuk memenuhi gizi anak salah satunya diperlukan protein hewani atau nabati, protein nabati yang berasal dari ikan merupakan makanan penting yang dibutuhkan anak. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilakukan untuk memperingati hari gemar makan ikan nasional yang bertempatan pada tanggal 21 November serta menyampaikan campaign terkait pentingnya konsumsi ikan kepada anak-anak panti asuhan. Kegiatan berlangsung dengan melibatkan mahasiswa T. H. Perikanan dan peran dari owner serta Bapak/Ibu pengajar Al-qur’an di Panti Asuhan Muara Insan Banyuwangi dalam mentransformasikan manfaat mengkonsumsi ikan kepada anak-anak secara berkesinambungan, Hasil dari kegiatan ini, terjdinya peningkatan pengetahuan adik-adik panti asuhan melalui tanya-jawab yang dilakukan pada saat acara berlangsung. Selama kegiatan berlagsung, dosen dan mahasiswa melakukan penyuluhan berupa penyampaian materi pentingnya makan ikan dan kandungan gizi yang terkandung dalam ikan. Tidak sampai disitu, peserta dan pengusrus panti asuhan, mendapatkan makanan berupa olahan produk perikanan seperti, bakso ikan tuna, tempura, otak-otak ikan dan nugget ikan.

Abstract

Collagen is one of the proteins in animal, comprising approximately 30% of the total protein content in animals. It is commonly found in muscles, skin, and scales of animals. This study utilized three types of freshwater fish, namely snakehead fish, common carp, and catfish. Aim of the research was to compare the characteristics of skin collagen from snakehead fish, common carp, and catfish. The research method was an experimental design involving treatments on three different fish species with four replications. The parameters tested included yield, protein content, and moisture content. The results indicated that the highest yield was obtained from catfish skin collagen at 15.7%. The highest protein content was found at common carp skin collagen, while the best moisture content was observed from snakehead fish skin collagen.

Abstract

Ontogenetic of fish is a term used to study the development of the behavior of an individual throughout its life (life-span) from hatched to death. The mangrove ecosystem is a potential habitat for fish, especially the juvenile stage. Juvenile found in this habitat is an important economically fish. In various types of fish, the phenomenon of increasing the size of the fish body followed by changes in the types of food causing ontogenetic habitat of fish. It is evident in yellow snapper Lutjanus argentiventris. The juveniles live in mangrove habitat to approximately 100 mm or 300 days old, after which the fish move to deeper surrounding habitat. Mangrove forest that has a high complexity is to serve as an adaptation of fish to avoid predators and foraging. Several different habitats, both the mangrove ecosystem and other ecosystems provide different foods according to the needs at each phase-change of fish life. Animals that undergo ontogenetic habitat drift has management consequences that are more sensitive than animals inhabiting on single habitat. Hence, particularly habitat conservation resource management is needed. Not only conservation of the habitat, but also other habitats related to  the migration of fish.   Keyword: conservation, diet, growth, mangrove, ontogenetic
