Abstract

This study aims to analyze teacher competency in the use of technology-based learning media at SMP Negeri 3 Sitolu Ori. The background of this study is based on the importance of technology integration in the learning process to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of learning. Teachers as the spearhead of education are expected to have pedagogical, professional, social, and personality competencies that include the ability to operate and utilize learning technology. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results show that the majority of teachers at SMP Negeri 3 Sitolu Ori have basic skills in using technological devices such as laptops, computers, projectors, and Microsoft Office applications, especially PowerPoint. However, the use of technology still faces several obstacles such as limited internet connection, lack of advanced technology training, and limited time in developing digital learning materials. In addition, the process of selecting learning media generally refers to the teaching module used, but not all teachers are able to optimally develop media independently. This study concludes that although most teachers have demonstrated basic skills in the use of technology-based media, competency improvement is still needed through continuous training and infrastructure support. The results of this study are expected to be a basis for schools and stakeholders to design programs to improve teacher professionalism in utilizing technology to achieve a more innovative and quality learning process.

Abstract

Conventional learning methods often create obstacles for students in understanding various subjects. At UPTD SMP Negeri 1 Idanoi, this issue frequently occurs, especially in Grade VIII, where many students tend to feel sleepy and lose focus due to their inability to grasp the subject matter. Based on this problem, the aim of this study is to determine student learning outcomes through the implementation of the Kancing Gemerincing learning model. The research method used is classroom action research, with the research subjects being 32 students from class VIII-A. The results of the study showed that in Cycle I, the average student observation score reached 45.11%, while in Cycle II, it increased significantly to 87.49%. Meanwhile, the average score for students’ learning evaluations in Cycle I was 74.25%, which further increased to 80.43% in Cycle II. This improvement demonstrates the success of the Kancing Gemerincing Learning Model in enhancing student learning outcomes in the Integrated Social Studies subject for Grade VIII at UPTD SMP Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli Idanoi.

Abstract

The waste problem at UPTD SMP Negeri 3 Gunungsitoli Alo’oa has a serious impact on students’ learning comfort, such as disrupted concentration, decreased motivation, and the creation of an unconducive classroom environment. This study aims to determine the improvement of students’ abilities in creating recycled products through the implementation of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model. This is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles using a qualitative approach, employing observation techniques to evaluate the learning process, student activities, and final products. The results show that the teacher’s ability to apply the PjBL model increased from 60.83% (fair) in the first cycle to 90.83% (excellent) in the second cycle. Student activity also improved from 64.72% to 86.33%. Students’ ability to produce recycled products increased from an average learning outcome of 59.46% (57.14% mastery) to 74.64% (71.42% mastery) in the second cycle. These results indicate that the implementation of PjBL can enhance student ability and participation in Integrated Social Studies learning in class VII-1.
