Abstract

Financial reports serve not only as an internal communication tool, but also as a medium of transparency for stakeholders, both domestic and international. The use of Bahasa Indonesia is expected to improve understanding and accessibility for local stakeholders, but there are challenges in translating accounting language that is often better known in English. This research uses a qualitative approach by analyzing the financial statements of PT. Cahaya Bintang Medan Tbk and descriptive method. The results showed that the use of Indonesian in the financial statements has met the standards of good and correct language. However, there are still some problems that are less clear to non-accountant readers. For this reason, improvements are needed in the preparation of financial statements, such as the inclusion of additional explanations for accounting terms, to ensure that financial information of a company can be understood by all interested parties.

Abstract

Indonesian language plays a crucial role in daily life and education, particularly at the higher education level. As the medium of instruction, proficiency in Indonesian significantly impacts students' academic achievement, including those in Accounting programs. This study aims to analyze the influence of Indonesian language proficiency on the understanding of course materials and the academic achievement of Accounting students at the State University of Medan. Employing a qualitative phenomenological approach, this research involved 36 student respondents currently taking Indonesian language courses. The findings indicate that strong Indonesian language skills are essential in helping students comprehend accounting concepts, read textbooks, and complete assignments and exams. The majority of respondents agreed that good Indonesian language skills support their academic success, especially in explaining exam answers and writing reports. Conversely, limited Indonesian language proficiency hinders students' ability to grasp complex accounting concepts. This study concludes that strong Indonesian language proficiency contributes significantly to improving students' academic achievement in accounting and provides recommendations for developing Indonesian language instruction that is more integrated with technical courses in the Accounting department.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the impact of Indonesian language errors in accounting reports on users' understanding of financial reports. Language errors, both in terms of grammar and use of terms, can affect the quality of understanding of the information conveyed in accounting reports. The sample for this research consisted of 50 students majoring in accounting at Medan State University (UNIMED). The method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through questionnaires, where respondents are asked to provide responses to a number of statements related to the influence of language errors in accounting reports. This data collection focuses on aspects of errors in the use of accounting terms, grammar, clarity of sentences, and the influence of writing errors on the trustworthiness of information. Based on a survey involving 50 accounting students, the results showed that language errors, such as the use of inappropriate terms and ambiguous sentences, greatly impacted their understanding of the financial information presented. The majority of respondents (86.3%) agreed that they often encounter language errors in accounting reports and are a disturbing factor in the process of understanding financial data.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan peran guru dan orang tua dalam mengatasi kesulitan membaca siswa selama proses pembelajaran di sekolah dasar. Serta bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi peran guru dan orang tua dalam membantu siswa mengatasi kesulitan membaca dan menulis. Melalui analisis studi literatur, ditemukan bahwa guru memiliki peran penting dalam menerapkan strategi pembelajaran yang efektif, melakukan pendekatan personal, dan menjalin kolaborasi dengan orang tua. Dengan adanya dukungan yang konsisten dari guru dan orang tua, diharapkan siswa dapat mengatasi tantangan dalam belajar membaca dan menulis, sehingga mereka dapat berkembang dengan baik dalam proses pendidikan. Hasil penelitian ini memberikan gambaran mengenai peran guru dan orang tua dalam mendukung siswa untuk mengatasi kesulitan membaca selama proses pembelajaran di sekolah dasar. Berdasarkan hasil temuan tersebut, diharapkan  para  pendidik,  khususnya  guru,  dapat  terus  meningkatkan  sinergi dengan  orang  tua  dalam  mendukung  perkembangan  literasi  siswa,  serta,  jika relevan, mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai Islami ke dalam proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze illocutionary speech acts in the lyrics of Tafsir Mistik based on J.L. Austin’s theory, which categorizes illocutionary acts into five types: verdictive, exercitive, commissive, behabitive, and expositive. As a form of artistic communication, song lyrics play a crucial role in conveying messages to listeners. With Tafsir Mistik by The Panturas as the object of study, the communicative messages in song lyrics can include emotions, ideas, social criticism, or perspectives on life, expressed through words and symbols. Tafsir Mistik serves as an example of a song that critiques the phenomenon of superficial thinking in the social media era. The analysis results indicate that the song’s lyrics contain various illocutionary speech acts that reinforce its social message. The study concludes that the lyrics of Tafsir Mistik not only function as an artistic expression but also as an effective communication tool for delivering social messages.

Abstract

This paper aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the use of Indonesian language in an effort to improve investor understanding, especially related to financial reports. By using the library research method, this paper presents complete information based on relevant primary data. Through an in-depth analysis of the existing literature, this study emphasizes the importance of using clear, concise, and contextual language in financial reports as an effective means of communication between companies and investors. This study also reveals that the use of proper Indonesian language not only helps investors understand complex financial information but also contributes to the formation of trust and transparency. By understanding accurate terminology and presentation, investors can make more informed investment decisions, which can ultimately increase their participation in the market. Finally, this paper emphasizes that Indonesian language acts as a bridge connecting companies with investors, making it a key component in effective financial reports. It is hoped that the results of this study can contribute to better accounting practices and improve financial communication among various stakeholders. Through a better understanding of language use, it is hoped that companies can achieve success and sustainability in an increasingly competitive business environment

Abstract

The problems faced by partners so far are: (1) lack of appropriate methods to use in teaching, (2) lack of ability of Indonesian language teachers in drama, (3) teachers at SMP N 2 Medan do not hone their drama skills because there is no guidance that is more proficient in theory and practice. The objectives of this community service activity are: (1) to provide drama assistance using the sociodrama model as one of the innovative drama models, (2) to provide assistance in drama practice of students at SMP N 2 Medan, (3) to provide ongoing guidance and assistance. The benefits obtained by partners from this activity are: (1) to improve the drama skills using the sociodrama model of SMP N 2 Medan teachers so that it can be used as a method in teaching; (2) to attract the attention of students and motivate students to be enthusiastic about learning. The approach method used to overcome partner problems is the method of education, training and mentoring intensively and continuously. The real output results of community service activities are (1) One scientific article published through an online ISSN journal from a national seminar; (2) Publication in print/ online mass media/ university repositories; (3) Learning Videos.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kesulitan membaca yang dialami oleh siswa SD, serta mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor penyebabnya dan mengeksplorasi strategi efektif yang dapat diterapkan oleh guru untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa minat belajar yang rendah dan kurangnya bimbingan dari orang tua berkontribusi signifikan terhadap kesulitan membaca yang dialami siswa. Untuk mengatasi masalah ini, beberapa strategi yang diusulkan meliputi pendekatan individual, di mana guru memberikan perhatian khusus kepada siswa yang mengalami kesulitan melalui sesi pembelajaran tambahan. Selain itu, penggunaan media pembelajaran yang menarik, seperti alat bantu visual dan audio, dapat meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap materi bacaan. Latihan membaca secara teratur juga dianjurkan untuk membangun kebiasaan dan kepercayaan diri siswa dalam membaca. Terakhir, kolaborasi dengan orang tua sangat penting, di mana mereka dilibatkan dalam proses belajar di rumah untuk mendukung perkembangan kemampuan membaca anak. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan wawasan yang berharga bagi pendidik dalam merancang intervensi yang lebih efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca siswa SD

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji dampak krisis literasi terhadap prestasi akademik siswa serta menganalisis faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan penurunan minat baca di Indonesia, termasuk pengaruh ketergantungan pada teknologi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi pustaka melalui penelusuran sistematis terhadap jurnal ilmiah, artikel penelitian, dan publikasi relevan lainnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa krisis literasi berdampak signifikan terhadap prestasi akademik siswa, menghambat akses terhadap pengetahuan, mengurangi kemampuan berpikir kritis, dan membatasi peluang pendidikan serta karier. Faktor-faktor penyebab penurunan minat baca meliputi defisit kemampuan membaca kritis, absennya kebiasaan membaca yang berkelanjutan, ketergantungan pada teknologi, peran keluarga yang minim, sekolah yang kurang progresif, monotonnya koleksi bacaan, metode pengajaran guru yang tidak partisipatif, dan ketimpangan akses ke sumber bacaan berkualitas. Penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya upaya komprehensif dari berbagai pihak untuk mengatasi krisis literasi dan meningkatkan prestasi akademik siswa di Indonesia.

Abstract

Sastra anak memiliki peran penting dalam perkembangan kognitif, emosional, dan sosial anak. Pemahaman yang baik terhadap cara membaca dan mengapresiasi sastra anak dapat membantu meningkatkan minat baca serta keterampilan literasi sejak usia dini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi teknik membaca yang efektif serta strategi yang dapat meningkatkan apresiasi sastra anak. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan observasi dan wawancara terhadap anak usia 5-8 tahun, orang tua, serta pendidik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa teknik membaca nyaring efektif untuk meningkatkan keterlibatan anak dalam membaca, sedangkan membaca interaktif dapat meningkatkan daya kritis serta pemahaman cerita. Selain itu, apresiasi sastra anak dapat ditingkatkan melalui diskusi cerita, bermain peran, serta pemanfaatan ilustrasi dalam buku. Namun, penelitian ini memiliki keterbatasan dalam cakupan usia dan belum mengukur dampak jangka panjang dari teknik yang diterapkan. Oleh karena itu, penelitian selanjutnya disarankan untuk memperluas subjek penelitian dan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif guna mengukur efektivitas strategi membaca secara lebih mendalam. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi referensi bagi pendidik dan orang tua dalam memilih metode yang tepat untuk menumbuhkan minat baca serta apresiasi terhadap sastra anak sejak dini.
