Abstract

Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah pemahaman mahasiswa yang berasal dari sekolah menengah umum lebih menekankan pada aspek teoritis, dan tidak dalam aspek keterampilan, materi pembelajaran pemangkasan rambut selama ini masih banyak disampaikan dalam aspek teori. Belum adanya media/sumber belajar yang berorientasi pada kemandirian, kemampuan dalam membuat pembelajaran berbasis elektronik belum optimal, serta hasil belajar mahasiswa rendah. Tujuan penelitian yaitu: (1) Untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran video tutorial pangkas rambut, (2) Untuk mengukur efektivitas media pembelajaran video tutorial pangkas rambut. Penelitian ini menggunakan model pengembangan Four-D yang terdiri dari tahap pendefenisian, perancangan, pengembangan dan penyebaran. Hasil uji efektifitas media video tutorial pembelajaran diperoleh dari nilai kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol mahasiswa setelah mengunakan media video tutorial pembelajaran berada dalam kategori efektif. Kesimpulannya yaitu: (1) Media pembelajaran video tutorial pangkas rambut sudah berhasil dikembangkan, (2) Media pembelajaran video tutorial pangkas rambut sudah efektif digunakan pada mata kuliah Pemangkasan Rambut mahasiswa jurusan Pendidikan Tata Rias dan Kecantikan di Universitas Negeri Padang.

Abstract

Tujuan yang ingin dicapai dalam penelitian ini yakni untuk menilai apakah media pembelajaran video tutorial dapat meningkatkan hasil praktek mata pelajaran rias wajah karakter siswa kelas XII SMK Negeri 1 Beringin. Jenis penelitian yang di gunakan pada penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan diawali dengan perencanaan (planning) pelaksanaan tindakan (acting), pengamatan (observing). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam 1 siklus. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini meliputi media video tutorial dan hasil praktek rias wajah karakter. Hasil dari penelitian ini terlihat bahwa media pembelajaran video tutorial dapat meningkatkan hasil praktek siswa pada materi rias wajah karakter siswa kelas XII Tata Kecantikan SMK Negeri 1 Beringin. Keberhasilan penerapan media pembelajaran video tutorial sebagai upaya untuk meningkatkan hasil praktek siswa pada materi materi rias wajah karakter siswa kelas XII Tata Kecantikan SMK Negeri 1 Beringin ditunjukan dengan adanya perubahan dalam proses pembelajaran yaitu aktivitas siswa pada saat proses pembelajaran. Juga ditunjukan adanya peningkatan yang cukup signifikan dari nilai rata-rata hasil belajar siswa pada siklus I sebesar 81,77% . Sementara itu aktivitas siswa sebesar 86,67% , Aktivitas guru dan siswa dalam pembelajaran tergolong baik sehingga tidak perlu dilaksanakan tindakan sebagai perbaikan.

Abstract

The problem raised in this study is the limited access of students to relevant, flexible, and appropriate learning resources according to the characteristics of the visual and practice-based Cosmetology field, which is one of the causes of students' lack of understanding of learning. This study aims to: (1) develop a web-based digital library as a learning medium in the Cosmetology Education Study Program. This study is a type of development research using ADDIE which includes five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and questionnaires. Product validity was assessed by two material experts and two media experts. Product trials were conducted in three stages, namely small group trials with 6 students, medium group trials with 12 students, and large group trials with 32 students. The results of the study showed that the product obtained an average feasibility score of 86.8% from material experts (very good category) and 94.8% from media experts (very good category). The small group trial obtained an average score of 80.9% (good), the medium group 86.8% (very good), and the large group 95.6% (very good). Based on expert evaluation and user trials, it can be concluded that this web-based digital library is appropriate and effective as a learning medium in the Makeup Education Program. The implications of this study indicate that a web-based digital library can be an alternative learning solution that not only improves students' learning independence, but also encourages the integration of technology in vocational learning.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the competence of beautician teachers at Imelda Medan Tourism Private Vocational School through training and mentoring Barber skills based on the industrial world. The target partners are teachers who still have limitations in mastering male hair trimming techniques, do not have access to industry-based training, and lack practical facilities according to industry standards. The main problems identified include: (1) low teacher competence in barber techniques, (2) limited facilities and infrastructure to support learning, (3) unavailability of relevant industry-based training, and (4) no partnership with professional barbershop practitioners. The solutions offered include intensive training in basic to advanced techniques in men's hair trimming, provision of practical tools such as hair clipper, trimmer, and cutting scissors, and development of video tutorials as self-learning media. In addition, this activity also facilitates cooperation between schools and the World of Business and Industry (DUDI), as well as assistance in utilizing the learning media. The implementation method consists of the preparation stage, training, practical assistance, competency evaluation, and publication of activity results. The implication of this program is the establishment of an industry-based vocational training model that can be replicated in similar schools, improving the teaching quality of vocational teachers, and strengthening the synergy between vocational education institutions and industry in developing human resources that are relevant to the needs of the labor market.

Abstract

The development of education today is marked by rapid technological innovation. This requires adjustments to the education system to keep in line with the needs of the workplace, which is also constantly changing due to technology. In other words, education needs to adapt so that graduates have skills that are relevant to the existing job market. The selection and use of learning media must be in line with the rapid advances in science and technology. Therefore, lecturers are expected to utilize information and communication technology to support the teaching and learning process, so that learning becomes more effective. The Cosmetology Education Study Program, as one of the study programs at State University of Medan, has a vision to become a superior study program in the field of vocational education, mastering technology, industrial engineering, and culture, in line with the field of cosmetology. To facilitate students in learning the material, the author created a digital learning medium in the form of a video tutorial on the use of electric facial care tools in the electric skin care subject in the Cosmetology Education Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Medan State University. Therefore, this study aims to describe the practicality of video tutorials. This study is a quantitative descriptive study with data collection using questionnaires. The respondents in this study were 35 students majoring in Cosmetology who took the Electric Skin Care course in the odd semester from August to December 2024. The results of the study indicate that the tutorial videos used in the lectures were categorized as very practical with a score percentage of 42%; practical with a score percentage of 50%; and 8% were categorized as sufficient practical.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan video pembelajaran yang efektif dalam mendukung proses pembelajaran pada mata kuliah Pengeritingan Dasar. Penggunaan media video diharapkan dapat meningkatkan pemahaman mahasiswa terhadap teknik pengeritingan rambut yang benar, serta memfasilitasi proses belajar yang lebih interaktif dan menarik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) dengan model pengembangan ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, dan Evaluation). Hasil dari pengembangan ini menunjukkan bahwa video pembelajaran yang dihasilkan dapat membantu mahasiswa dalam memahami konsep dan praktik pengeritingan secara lebih mudah dan efisien. Uji validitas dan efektivitas menunjukkan bahwa video pembelajaran ini layak digunakan sebagai media bantu dalam perkuliahan. Dengan adanya video ini, diharapkan kualitas pembelajaran pengeritingan dasar dapat meningkat, serta mahasiswa mampu menguasai keterampilan pengeritingan dengan lebih baik.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) has brought transformative opportunities for higher education, particularly in strengthening entrepreneurship education. This study examines the impact of ChatGPT-based AI integration on the development of entrepreneurship skills among undergraduate students. Employing a quantitative research design with a sample of 32 students, data were collected through a structured questionnaire assessing four core dimensions of entrepreneurial competence: opportunity recognition, creativity and innovation, business planning, and problem-solving. Descriptive statistics and paired sample t-tests were applied to measure differences between pre-test and post-test scores. The results demonstrate that ChatGPT integration significantly improved students’ entrepreneurship skills, with the greatest gains observed in creativity and innovation, followed by business planning. The overall mean score increased substantially, and all improvements were statistically significant (p < 0.001), indicating a strong positive effect of AI-enhanced learning. These findings highlight ChatGPT’s potential as an effective pedagogical tool for fostering entrepreneurial competencies and preparing students for the challenges of the digital economy. The study recommends further exploration of generative AI applications in entrepreneurship education to optimize skill development and innovation capacity.
