Abstract

Era pembangunan sekarang ini menjadikan banyak perubahan, salah satunya adalah perubahan pada kawasan persawahan menjadi kewasan pemukiman. Masyarakat Desa Kuwaron, khususnya RT.01/RW.04 mula-mula bermayoritas memiliki mata pencaharian sebagai petani, akan tetapi setelah musim cocok tanam selesai, beberapa masyarakat berpindah profesi sebagai pekerja bangunan, baik di luar kota maupun di Desa Kuwaron. Beberapa masyarakat RT.01/RW.04 memiliki bekal sebagai pekerja bangunan, namun wawasan tentang pemberdayaan berkreativitas dalam hal usaha berwirausaha bidang pembanguanan masih minin, sehingga cenderung konsumtif. Hal tersebut menjadi salah satu permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh warga. Melihat peluang usaha di tengah ramainya pembangunan perumahan di Desa Kuwaron, maka salah satu usaha yang dapat dicoba adalah membuat dan memasarkan cat dinding. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah untuk memberikan wawasan dan keterampilan tambahan tentang pembuatan cat dinding eksterior berbahan ekonomis serta memiliki harga jual yang lebih terjangkau dibandingkan cat dinding ber-merk dipasaran dengan kualitas yang hampir sama. Hasil kegiatan pelatihan ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuna peserta pelatihan mengenai cara pembuatan cat dinding eksterior. Pengetahuan awal sebelum pelatihan menunjukkan nilai sebesar 62,5% tingkat pengetahuan rata-rata peserta terkait pembuatan cat. Setalah pelatihan ternyata ada peningkatan pengetahuan peserta menjadi 87,5%. Penggunaan pewarna sintesis menghasilakn warna yang lebih konsisten dan lebih ekonomis dibandingkan pewarna alami. Proses ekstraksi yang mahal dan warna yang susah konsisten menjadikan penggunaan pewarna alami menjadi lebih mahal. Semoga dengan pelatihan ini warga Desa Kuwaron dan menambah wawasan serta kedepannya dapat meningkatkan penghasilan pribadi maupun desa tersebut.

Abstract

This study uses bibliometric analysis to assess the most relevant themes linked to Writing Learning Outcomes, allowing readers to gain a holistic understanding of WLO and the most recent developments in the field. Publication data from Scopus is employed since it is considered as the gold standard for Bibliometric analysis, allowing for the visualization of information concerning the network of nations, keywords, authors, and trends. On September 14, 2022, this study examined 1,053 files spanning the years 1980 and 2022. The findings revealed that the quantity of published works on WLO generally increased, albeit with some years showing a modest decline. Analysing search terms for "Writing Learning Outcomes" (WLO) reveals a central interest in topics including learning goals, assessment, and instructional strategies. Important WLO publications are also discussed in the study. This study presented bibliometric analysis on the relationship between the most prominent themes in WLO research and classroom practice to be used for finding novelty in the area of WLO research.

Abstract

Bendungan adalah bangunan yang terdiri dari urugan tanah atau batuan. Bangunan ini berfungsi untuk menahan laju air dari waduk atau danau, sebagai pembangkit listrik serta tempat rekreasi masyarakat. Bendungan Jragung terletak di desa Candirejo, Kecamatan Pringapus, Kabupaten Semarang. Dalam pembangunan bendungan ini diperlukan suatu bangunan pengelak yang berfungsi untuk mengelakan air sungai pada saat mengerjakan konstruksi bendungan utama. Pada pelaksanaan terowongan pengelak membutuhkan analisis klasifikasi batuan serta litologi batuan di lapangan dengan menggunakan metode Rock Mass Rating (RMR) dari Bieniawski 1989 untuk mengetahui kondisi litologi batuan beserta klasifikasinya. Selain itu digunakan metode Rock Mass Quality (Q)-System sebagai pembanding. Berdasarkan hasil analisis yang membandingkan dua metode menghasilkan batuan yang memiliki klasifikasi massa batuan fair rock yang termasuk dalam kategori III dengan nilai RMR antara 41- 60 dengan stand up time ± 24 jam sampai dengan ± 28 jam dan good rock yang termasuk dalam kategori II dengan nilai RMR 60-80 dengan rekomendasi pemasangan steel ribs dengan jarak 1,5 m pada metode RMR. Sedangkan pada metode Q-System menghasilkan klasifikasi massa batuan fair rock dengan panjang rockbolt pada penyangga terowongan 3 m serta ketebalan shotcrete 40-100 m tanpa tulangan dengan jarak rockbolt yaitu 2 m-2,3 m

Abstract

In writing class for EFL students, there are numerous factors to consider. These factors include students' learning styles, the role of the teacher, and the teaching methods used. There have been various researches that advocate genre-based approach and perceived  it as effective to help EFL students improve their writing skills. However, the role of Joint Construction in this context is not specifically documented. While there are many possible reasons for this, one of them is that the role of collaboration and interaction in text production remains unexplored. As a concern to that, this research aimed to explore how joint construction of Genre based approace assists student in writing descriptive text. This research used case study research in the ten-grade of a vocational high school. To collect the data, the researcher conducted observations, reflective journals, and interviews which were analysed by thematic analysis. The finding revealed  Joint construction engages students in enthusiastic learning experiences that help to overcome social isolation. The interaction that occured also has an impact on their ability to understand the text content. Collaborative learning emerged as a factor made students pleased with the learning process. Most of the students voiced that by holding discussion, they had the opportunity to explore ideas and knowledge. The positive responses shown by the students implied the joint construction positively contributes to building a more effective and diverse writing learning process for EFL vocational students.

Abstract

Explore how role-play activities can enhance junior high school students’ self-efficacy in speaking English as a foreign language. EFL students often face difficulties in developing speaking skills due to low confidence and anxiety, which hinder their ability to participate actively in classroom communication. Role-play is proposed as a practical aid to address this issue by offering authentic, interactive language practice in a supportive learning environment. Using a qualitative case study design, data were collected from eighth-grade students at a junior high school in Garut, West Java through observations, interviews, and reflective journals. The data were analyzed using Braun and Clarke’s (2006) six-step thematic analysis framework. The results revealed three major themes: (1)Role-play as fun learning strategy and facilitating understanding of the material, (2) Building Speaking Self-Efficacy through Practiceand (3) Emotional Challenges and Growth. The findings support Del Mar Haro-Soler self-efficacy theory, demonstrating that role-play provides all four factors of self-efficacy—mastery experience, vicarious experience, verbal persuasion, and emotional state. Students who were initially anxious and hesitant gradually became more confident, fluent, and engaged as they progressed through the stages of role-play. The study concludes that role-play not only enhance speaking performance but also fosters students’ self-efficacy and belief in their speaking skill, making it a valuable pedagogical tool in EFL classrooms.

Abstract

Teaching practicum is considered very complicated task for many EFL pre-service teachers for they have to prepare perfect lesson plans, master the teaching materials, teaching method, teaching mental, and also student assessment. This present study through case study design, is focused on investigating pre-service teacher’s self-confidence during in their teaching practice. Two pre-service teachers of Educational English Department in Indonesia were recruited voluntarily. They were assigned to practice teaching English lesson in secondary school for one semester. Videos of their performance were taken during the class and interview and reflective journal were taken for the data source. Observation showed differences in self-confidence between the two participants. Participants with high self-confidence started the class with a positive attitude, built initial interactions, and used L2 flexibly, creating an interactive learning atmosphere. In contrast, participants with low self-confidence faced high anxiety, which affected their ability to teach and interact with students. In return to these results, this study may contribute benefits to pre-service English teachers, lectures, and English study program administer.

Abstract

This study investigates the implementation of infographic-based Gallery Walk and students’ responses to its implementation. Qualitatively, a case study was employed in this study which the data was taken from observation checklists and semi-structured interviews. Findings indicate that the integration of infographics with a peer-discussion format promotes cognitive, behavioral, and emotional engagement. Students demonstrated improved confidence, critical thinking, and motivation during speaking activities. Infographics served as visual scaffolds that supported idea organization and delivery, while the interactive setting encouraged participation in a low-pressure environment. Despite minor challenges related to pronunciation and time constraints, students responded positively to the activity. Overall, the study concludes that this technique contributes to empowering students’ speaking confidence, engagement, and critical thinking by fostering a collaborative and student-centered learning environment. The study suggests that visual tools combined with collaborative techniques can foster more dynamic and student-centered speaking instruction in secondary education contexts.

Abstract

Rigid pavement with nailed-slab system is a replacement for the use of concrete claws with short posts. This study aims to design a prototype of rigid pavement with a nailed-slab system to be applied to soft soil in Demak. Soft soil samples were taken from Guntur, Demak by digging the soil surface ±50 cm. The prototype design began with the manufacture of a test tub measuring 200 x 200 x 150 cm with walls of thin steel plates on the back and sides. The base of the test body is made of thin steel plate and the front of the body is made of glass. At the bottom of the thin steel plate wall there is a water pipe that is used as an outlet water channel. The soil in the test tub that has been in accordance with the density in the field will be cut, so that the elevation is the same as the top of the test tub before the prototype of the pavement plate is placed on it. The prototype schematic of the test piece consists of reinforced concrete with a slab dimension of 120 cm x 120 cm x 10 cm, and a pole as an anchor with a depth of 100 cm and a diameter of 10 cm. Before casting on reinforced concrete, a strain gauge is installed that is tied to the prototype reinforcement, then cast and left for 28 days to make the concrete 100% perfect strength. After that, a loading test was carried out with a monotonic load in the form of a beam measuring 20 cm x 20 cm gradually with an increase in load twice from the previous load. The load is given from 1 kN, 2 kN, and 4 kN, the results show that the greater the load given, the greater the deflection produced.

Abstract

Salah satu sarana untuk mempermudah kerja manusia adalah komputer. Komputer merupakan bagian dari kemajuan ilmu pengetahuan. Software di bidang Teknik Sipil yang digunakan dalam pemodelan lalulintas salah satunya adalah VISSIM. Penggunaan aplikasi VISSIM banyak didapati di dunia praktisi atau proyek untuk penentuan rekomendasi teknik. Perusahaan Badan Usaha Milik Negara (BUMN) yang bergerak dalam jasa konsultan engineering dan manajemen proyek adalah Yodya Karya. Jasa layanan dari PT Yodya Karya berupa perencanaan, feasibility study dan AMDAL. Kajian AMDAL merupakan salah satu layanan Yodya Karya yang berisi kajian ANDALALIN. Tujuan dari kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat yang dilakukan adalah menganalisis serta menilai pemahaman akan pengetahuan dari staff  PT Yodya Karya terkait aplikasi VISSIM pada simpang APILL melalui pelatihan software VISSIM. Metode kegiatan terdiri dari ceramah, tutorial dan tanya jawab. Penilaian keberhasilan kegiatan melalui pre – test dan post – test, dengan 4 kategori penilaian, yaitu kurang, sedang, baik dan sangat baik. Sebelum dilaksanakannya kegiatan pelatihan software VISSIM pada simpang APILL bagi Staff PT Yodya Karya Semarang, pemahaman peserta berada level sedang. Hal tersebut ditunjukkan dari hasil pre-test dengan bobot prosentase 50, 30, 40, 50, 40 dan 40. 2. Pemahaman peserta berada pada level baik dan sangat baik setelah dilaksanakan kegiatan pelatihan software VISSIM pada simpang APILL. Bobot prosentase nilai yang dihasilkan dari post – test adalah 62,5; 62,5; 75; 75;; 50; 62,5; 62,5; 100; 87,55.

Abstract

This study aims to explore how Opinion Gap Tasks in the Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT) framework facilitate students' speaking skills development through opinion exchange activities and analyze how gender differences influence students' participation, interaction patterns, and performance during these tasks. A qualitative case study design was employed, involving 11th-grade students from a high school in Lembang. Data were collected through classroom observations and semi-structured interviews, and analyzed using Braun and Clarke's (2006) Thematic Analysis and Toulmin's (1958) Argumentation Model. The findings reveal different communication and reasoning patterns between male and female students. Female students were more expressive, emotional, and confident, often relying on experiential reasoning and empathy, while male students were more logical, structured, and cautious in their argumentation. Despite these differences, both genders found Opinion Gap Tasks effective in enhancing fluency, confidence, and critical thinking in speaking English. These tasks also fostered respect for differing opinions, learner autonomy, and reflective awareness in communication. Overall, the study concludes that integrating Opinion Gap Tasks into TBLT effectively promotes inclusive communicative competence and meaningful language learning in the EFL classroom.
