Abstract

Students now frequently use smartphones to access the Internet, demonstrating their proficiency with technology. Students who collaborate in groups to develop innovative goods and Internet of Things (IoT)-based smart home systems benefit from the project-based learning method in the classroom. Students are trained and mentored to create new works, such as scientific publications in the form of scholarly articles and prototypes with remote control of electrical gadgets in residential houses over the internet. For students with a vocational education background, such as those attending Vocational High Schools (SMK), technology-based instruction is typically pertinent. However, SMAIT Al Auliya Balikpapan students who have a general education background and are used to science instruction like the National Science Olympiad (OSN) received IoT information technology training in this community service project. As a result, the training offered to SMAIT Al Auliya Balikpapan students is unique and highly engaging. Using the waterfall technique through phases of problem-solving and communication with partners, creating learning guide modules as instructional resources, putting training and student mentoring into practice, and evaluating. One of the outcomes is a house prototype with a smart home system that allows users to remotely manage doors, fans, and lights via an Android smartphone with an internet connection. With real-time smartphone monitoring of the room temperature, humidity, door access, and the on/off status of household electronics, the student-designed system improves home security. It is advised that Android devices be always connected to a reliable internet network in order to preserve the monitoring system's continuity and guarantee that it operates in real-time without any delays. Additionally, as a result of the creative product design and development, students have authored a scientific study on the subject of Android-based smart homes that will be published. Students should have access to trainings or extracurricular activities pertaining to emerging technologies in an attempt to enhance their knowledge, abilities, mastery, and technological updating.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan merealisasikan antena mikrostrip patch berbentuk segitiga (triangular) yang bekerja pada frekuensi 1800 MHz, sebagai penguat jaringan internet di kawasan Kebun Raya Balikpapan. Lokasi tersebut diketahui memiliki kualitas sinyal yang kurang baik untuk beberapa provider. Antena yang dirancang menggunakan dua konfigurasi, yaitu MIMO 8x8 dengan teknik pencatuan langsung dan array 8x1, yang kemudian disimulasikan menggunakan CST Studio Suite 2019 dan diuji performansinya menggunakan metode Speedtest. Hasil simulasi menunjukkan bahwa antena 8x8 memiliki nilai VSWR sebesar 1,50, return loss -12,96 dB, dan gain 4,06 dBi dengan pola radiasi omnidirectional. Sementara itu, konfigurasi 8x1 array menunjukkan nilai VSWR 1,24, return loss -19,21 dB, dan gain 6,46 dBi, juga dengan pola radiasi omnidirectional. Hasil pengujian di lapangan dengan tiga kondisi tanpa antena eksternal, antena MIMO dan antena array 8x1 didapatkan hasil bahwa antena array 8x1 memberikan kecepatan unduh tertinggi mencapai 17,227 Mbps, unggah 4,072 Mbps, Jitter 34,9 ms  dan packet loss 14,18 % sedangkan antena MIMO 8x8 memberikan kecepatan unduh tertinggi mencapai 13,77 Mbps, unggah 2,462 Mbps, Jitter 49,9 ms  dan packet loss 18,43%. Kesimpulannya, kedua jenis antena eksternal yakni MIMO 8x8 dan array 8x1 mampu meningkatkan performa jaringan secara signifikan dan dapat menjadi solusi efektif untuk daerah dengan sinyal lemah. Antena ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi terhadap akses internet yang lebih stabil di area public yang sangat luas.

Abstract

The need for fast, accurate, and secure weather information is a major challenge in BMKG public services. This research aims to develop a web-based information system capable of presenting real-time weather, climate, and flight forecast data, as well as supporting transaction services and digital data distribution at the BMKG Balikpapan Meteorological Station. The method employed is Research and Development (R&D), utilizing a Waterfall model in conjunction with the Network Development Life Cycle (NDLC). The research stages include needs analysis, system design, implementation using a web framework, and integration of Application Programming Interface (API) for real-time data synchronization. The system utilizes PostgreSQL as a database and the SMTP protocol for sending verification emails. Key features developed include login and registration with layered verification, uploading proof of payment, and automatic sending of documents to user emails. With a responsive interface design and good data integration, this system improves the efficiency, security, and transparency of public services. The results of Black Box Testing on six items were declared successful. Additionally, system quality testing, conducted among 17 respondents through six questions using a Likert scale, yielded an average of 95.08%, indicating a very good category. This system supports the digital transformation. These findings imply that the developed system has the potential to be adapted to other sectors, such as health and agriculture, to support more efficient and secure digitalization of public services

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi yang pesat mendorong integrasi mikrokontroler Arduino dalam pembelajaran berbasis proyek di pendidikan menengah. Wokwi Simulator hadir sebagai solusi inovatif berupa platform simulasi mikrokontroler berbasis web yang memungkinkan siswa melakukan eksperimen secara virtual tanpa keterbatasan perangkat keras. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan menerapkan Wokwi Simulator pada siswa Kelas XII Program Keahlian Teknik Instalasi Tenaga Listrik (TITL) SMK Negeri 6 Balikpapan. Kegiatan dilaksanakan selama satu hari pada September 2025 dengan melibatkan 20 siswa terpilih melalui metode pemaparan teori, praktik langsung, serta pendampingan intensif. Hasil evaluasi dan kuesioner menunjukkan tingkat antusiasme dan pemahaman siswa yang tinggi, dengan ketercapaian peningkatan kompetensi mencapai 85% dan berkategori sangat baik. Pemanfaatan Wokwi Simulator terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran praktik mikrokontroler serta mendukung penguatan kompetensi abad ke-21.
