Abstract

This study aims to develop an audio-visual Biorama (Biology Rhythm) learning medium on ecosystem material to improve the interest and learning outcomes of 10th grade high school students. The Biorama Media combines video visualization with educational songs as a means of delivering material. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Expert validation results indicate that the media is highly suitable for use. The implementation of the Biorama media showed a significant improvement in students' learning outcomes, increasing from 17.8% (pretest) to 89.2% (posttest), while students' learning interest reached 85.4%, which falls into the high category. These findings indicate that the Biorama media is effective in enhancing students' interest and learning outcomes and can serve as an alternative educational media that is engaging, contextual, and practical.   Keywords: Learning outcomes, Ecosystem material, Biorama media, Learning interest

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of stem pruning on chili pepper plants (Capsicum frutescens L.) on plant height growth, number of productive branches, and fruit weight. The study was conducted using an experimental method with a randomized block design (RBD) consisting of two treatments, namely without pruning (control) and stem tip pruning, each with 21 sample plants. Data analysis was performed using the non-parametric Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test. The results showed that stem pruning shortened the plants to an average of 69.14 cm, lower than the control at 132.91 cm, but was able to increase the number of productive branches to an average of 25.95 branches, much higher than the control at 5.86 branches. The average fruit weight of the treated plants was also greater, although not statistically significantly different.

Abstract

This study aims to develop alternative dairy products based on local ingredients, namely cassava (Manihot esculenta) and koro sword beans (Canavalia ensiformis) as a solution for individuals with lactose intolerance, as well as to support the use of local foods. This study is an experimental study that evaluates the panelists' acceptability of four formulations of plant-based milk with a comparison of different ingredients. The production process includes detoxification, fermentation, and mixing in four formulations, namely P1 (100%:0%), P2 (75%:25%), P3 (50%:50%), and P4 (25%:75%). Organoleptic tests were performed on aroma, taste, and texture attributes using a six-level hedonic scale assessed by 15 untrained panelists. The results showed that the formulation with the dominance of koro sword beans (P4: 25% cassava and 75% sword koro beans) was most preferred in terms of taste and texture, while the best aroma was found in the P3 formulation (50%:50%). Analysis of nutritional content showed that the P2 formulation had the highest carbohydrate content (14.68 mg/g), while the P3 formulation had the highest protein content (7.87 mg/g). This product has the potential to be a nutritious, functional, and sensorially acceptable local plant-based milk.

Abstract

Tanaman selada merah (Lactuca sativa var. Crispa) merupakan sayuran dengan nilai ekonomi yang tinggi. Salah satu Solusi untuk meningkatkan produksi selada merah adalah dengan pemupukan Pupuk Organik Cair (POC) ekoenzim. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh aplikasi POC ekoenzim terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman selada merah. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok  dengan perlakuan beberapa konsentrasi yaitu 0%,25%,50%,75%,100%, dan pupuk kimia dengan 6 kali pengulangan. Parameter yang diamati adalah panjang daun, jumlah daun, lebar daun, panjang akar, berat basah dan berat kering. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi POC ekoenzim berpengaruh nyata terhadap semua parameter pengamatan selada merah. POC ekoenzim dengan konsentrasi 75% memberikan hasil terbaik ke-2 setelah perlakuan pupuk kimia. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan ekoenzim 75% hampir menyamai pengaruhnya dengan aplikasi pupuk kimia.

Abstract

Kurangnya minat siswa untuk membaca disebabkan buku yang tebal dan kurang menarik. Oleh karena itu, perlu disediakan bahan bacaan yang menarik, mudah dibawa dan sesuai dengan tujuan pembelajaran yaitu dengan memanfaatkan lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat media pembelajaran dengan menggunakan data-data yang diperoleh dari Savana Bekol di Taman Nasional Baluran. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dan pemilihan tempat ditentukan secara purposive karena mempunyai keanekaragaman hayati yang sesuai dengan tujuan pembelajaran di Sekolah Menengah Atas kelas X. Metode pengambilan data dilakukan dengan observasi secara langsung flora, fauna dan kondisi abiotik yang ada di savanna Bekol serta didukung dengan metode dokumentasi berupa foto. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara deskriptif menggunakan analisis taksonomi terhadap karakteristik flora dan fauna yang diperoleh. Hasil penelitian mendapatkan 9 spesies flora yaitu Brachiaria mutica, Chloris barbata, Dactyloctenium aegyptium, Eleusine Indica, Eragrostis amabilis, Eulalia amaura, Imperata cylindrical, Ischaemum muticum, Panicum repensum. Semua spesies tersebut termasuk dalam famili Poaceae. Sementara untuk fauna mendapatkan 11 species yaitu Bos javanicus, Bubalus bubalis, Callosciurus nigrovittatus, Cuon alpinus, Macaca fascicularis, Manis javanica, Muntiacus muntjak, Panthera pardus, Paradoxurus hermaphroditus, Cervus Timorensis dan Trachiypithecus auratus yang diklasifikasikan dalam famili Bovidae, Cervidae, Cercopithecoide, Sciuridae, Canidae, Felidae dan Viveridae. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini dibuat media booklet dan telah divalidasi oleh dua orang pendidik dan satu orang yang faham tentang media. Setelah dilakukan revisi dapat disimpulkan bahwa booklet ini layak digunakan sebagai media belajar untuk materi keanekaragaman hayati di tingkat SMA kelas X.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to determine the antibacterial properties of mangrove leaves on Staphylococcus aureus, and to determine the optimal antibacterial concentration of mangrove leaf extract. This research is an experimental type of research using the Diffusion and Dilution test to determine the MIC and MBC extracts. The sample is pure culture of S. aureus. The concentrations of mangrove leaf extracts were 0, 25, 50, 75 and 100 (%). The results of the data obtained were analyzed statistically using the Kruskal-Wallis statistical test. The results of this study showed a significant difference (95%) for the diameter of the clear zone of paper disk on the growth of S. aureus with a concentration of 0% (0.00 mm); 25% (11.04 mm); 50% (11.56 mm); 75% (12.95 mm); 100% (13.94 mm), where the higher the power the resulting resistor will widen. For MIC and KBM in the study using mangrove leaf extract, there were treatments with concentrations of 50, 75 and 100 (%).

Abstract

Taro leaf stems have antibacterial compounds, namely tannins, flavonoids, saponins and alkaloids that have anti-bacterial effects. The purpose of this study was to determine the antibacterial ability of the taro leaf stalk extract using the Staphylococcus aureus test bacteria. This research is an experimental study with samples using pure cultures of S. aureus. The treatments in this study were taro leaf stalk extract concentrations, including 0, 25, 50, 75 and 100 (%) concentrations and used diffusion and dilution methods. The results of the study were analyzed statistically with the Kruskal-Wallis test. The results obtained showed that the diameter of the clear zone of S. aureus at various treatment concentrations was 0% (0 mm); 25% (10.98 mm); 50% (11.93 mm); 75% (13.06 mm); 100% (13.14 mm) with significant results between treatments (5%). For the determination of MIC (Minimum Inhibitory Level) and MBC (Minimum Killing Level) there is a treatment with a concentration of 100%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bersifat eksperimental dengan 2 faktor yaitu lama perendaman 0 jam, 6 jam, 12 jam, 18 jam, 24 jam dan dosis penyiraman 0 ml, 25 ml, 50 ml, 75 ml, 100 ml dan diulang sebanyak tiga kali. Parameter yang digunakan adalah persentase perkecambahan, panjang radikula dan panjang bulu yang dianalisis dengan uji MANOVA taraf 5%, dan uji post hoc Duncan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan persentase perkecambahan tidak berbeda nyata, namun terdapat perbedaan nyata pada pertumbuhan panjang radikula dan panjang bulu. Parameter persentase perkecambahan perlakuan D4L0 mempunyai persentase yang rendah yaitu 5,33%. Hasil penelitian pada perlakuan 18 jam menunjukkan hasil maksimum pada panjang radikula (4,553±1,909b) dan bulu (2,386±1,030c). Dosis penyiraman 0 ml menunjukkan hasil maksimum untuk panjang radikula sebesar 4,413±1,909c dan dosis penyiraman 25 ml menunjukkan hasil untuk panjang bulu maksimum sebesar 1,900±1,030a. Dan untuk kombinasi yang menunjukkan hasil maksimal pada parameter panjang radikula perlakuan D1L4 (5.167±1,459b) dan parameter panjang plumula perlakuan D1L3 (2.900±0,833d).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas ekstrak Aloe vera dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Pseudomonas aeruginosa, yang dikenal sebagai salah satu bakteri penyebab pembusukan ikan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan eksperimental dengan rancangan perlakuan berupa variasi konsentrasi ekstrak Aloe vera sebesar 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, dan 100% sebagai variabel bebas, serta pertumbuhan Pseudomonas aeruginosa sebagai variabel terikat. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui metode observasi kuantitatif dengan mengukur diameter zona bening yang terbentuk di sekitar cakram kertas sebagai indikator daya hambat antimikroba. Analisis data dilakukan dengan uji Kruskall-Wallis pada taraf signifikansi 1% untuk mengetahui pengaruh signifikan antar perlakuan konsentrasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak Aloe vera secara signifikan mampu menghambat pertumbuhan Pseudomonas aeruginosa dengan nilai signifikansi (P = 0,000), sehingga berpotensi digunakan sebagai agen antimikroba alami.

Abstract

Eucalyptus deglupta, a native tree species known for its ecological and economic value, forms unique associations with root fungi that play essential roles in nutrient cycling and plant health. Therefore, this study aims to explore the diversity of indigenous fungi associated with the roots of Eucalyptus deglupta in the Pelangi Forest, located within the Ijen Geopark area, Bondowoso Regency. The methods employed included the isolation of fungal cultures and subsequent identification through macroscopic and microscopic examination of morphological characteristics.  The isolation process yielded eight fungal isolates representing seven species: Microsporum gypseum, Aspergillus flavus, Mucor sp., Trichoderma sp., Geotrichum sp., Saccharomyces cerevisiae, and Cladophialophora sp. The results indicated a considerable diversity among the isolated fungal species, with several taxa being reported for the first time in the study areaThese findings provide a valuable baseline for future ecological, biotechnological, and conservation studies, particularly in exploring the potential roles of these indigenous fungi in forest health, ecosystem resilience, and sustainable land management practices.
