Abstract

Exclusive breastfeeding is an important intervention to improve infant health status, growth, and development. However, the coverage of exclusive breastfeeding among working mothers remains suboptimal. This study aimed to analyze factors associated with exclusive breastfeeding among working mothers in the Simpang Babat Public Health Center working area, Penukal Abab Lematang Ilir (PALI) Regency. This study employed an analytic observational design with a cross-sectional approach conducted from February to June 2026. The study population consisted of 133 working mothers with infants aged 0–12 months, and a sample of 100 respondents was selected using proportional random sampling. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using the chi-square test and multiple logistic regression. The results showed that 55% of respondents did not practice exclusive breastfeeding. Bivariate analysis revealed that family economic status (p=0.001), maternal psychological condition (p=0.004), husband's support (p<0.001), workplace facilities support (p<0.001), and maternal knowledge (p=0.028) were significantly associated with exclusive breastfeeding. Multivariate analysis indicated that family economic status was the most dominant factor associated with exclusive breastfeeding (OR=15.866; 95% CI=3.618–69.582). In conclusion, exclusive breastfeeding among working mothers was associated with family economic status, maternal psychological condition, husband's support, workplace facilities support, and maternal knowledge. These findings highlight the need to strengthen breastfeeding education, increase husband involvement, and provide adequate lactation facilities in the workplace to support exclusive breastfeeding among working mothers.

Abstract

Sharp waste is infectious medical waste that can transmit diseases such as HIV, Hepatitis B, and Hepatitis C through needlestick injuries, making proper management essential to protect healthcare workers and the environment. This study aimed to analyze factors associated with sharp waste management practices at Tanah Abang Primary Hospital, PALI Regency, in 2026. A quantitative cross-sectional design was used involving all healthcare workers engaged in waste management, with 94 respondents selected through total sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires and direct observation, then analyzed through univariate, bivariate Chi-Square, and multivariate backward stepwise logistic regression analyses. Bivariate results showed significant associations between sharp waste management and knowledge (p=0.001; OR=5.273), attitude (p=0.001; OR=5.935), safety box availability (p=0.013; OR=2.903), and management supervision (p=0.009; OR=3.154). Age, gender, education, and hospital policy were not significantly associated. Multivariate analysis identified staff attitude and knowledge as the dominant predictors. The study concludes that sharp waste management is mainly influenced by internal awareness, requiring stronger educational supervision and behavior-based safety culture to sustain staff compliance.

Abstract

Pharmaceutical services are an integral part of healthcare services that are patient-oriented and aimed at improving service quality and patients' quality of life. Patient satisfaction is one of the essential indicators used to assess the quality of pharmaceutical services. This study aimed to analyze pharmaceutical service satisfaction among outpatients at Rupit Regional General Hospital, Musi Rawas Utara Regency, in 2026 and to identify factors associated with patient satisfaction. This study employed a quantitative method using an analytical survey design with a cross-sectional approach. The study population consisted of 1,062 patients who obtained medications from the hospital pharmacy installation during November–December 2025 and January 2026. A total of 291 respondents were selected using a random sampling technique based on Slovin's formula. Data were analyzed using univariate analysis, bivariate analysis with the Chi-square test, and multivariate analysis using multiple logistic regression. There were significant associations between education p-Value 0,006 (OR=0,495 dan CI=0,298-0,823), knowledge p-Value 0,005 (OR=0,1,971 dan CI=1,223-3,175), tangibles p-Value 0,000 (OR=37,53 dan CI=17,928-78,601), reliability p-Value 0,000 (OR=156,75 dan CI=62,430-393,56), responsiveness p-Value 0,00 (OR=31,01 dan CI=16,31-58,95), assurance p-Value 0,000 (OR=18,68 dan CI=10,27-34,003) and empathy p-Value 0,000 (OR=178,875 dan CI=42,234-757,602) with patient satisfaction of pharmaceutical services. No significant associations were found between gender (p-value 0,529), age (p-value 0,949) and employment status (p-value 0,884) and patient satisfaction. The findings of this study are expected to provide an overview of the level of patient satisfaction and identify the most dominant factors associated with satisfaction with pharmaceutical services. Furthermore, the result are expected to rserve as evaluation material and a basic for policy-making to improve the quality of pharmaceutical services at RSUD Rupit.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the level of patient satisfaction with health care services at the Rupit Regional General Hospital in North Musi Rawas Regency in 2026. Patient satisfaction is a crucial indicator in evaluating the quality of health care services. This study employs a quantitative research design with a descriptive-analytical approach and a cross-sectional design. The study sample consisted of 106 respondents who were family members of adult inpatients. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire and analyzed using univariate, bivariate (Chi-Square test), and multivariate (multiple logistic regression). The results of there was a significant association between the dimensions of tangibles (p=0.005), responsiveness (p=0.001), assurance (p=0.001), Reliability (p=0.001), and empathy (p=0.001) and patient sati sfaction. Multivariate analysis identified assurance as the most dominant variable influencing patient satisfaction (OR = 3.523), followed by the tangible dimension (OR = 3.001) The resulting predictive model is Z = -0.929 + 1.099(Tangible) + 1.259(Assurance ), indicating a 28.3% probability of satisfaction for respondents who perceive both of these dimensions as “poor” simultaneously. In conclusion, patient satisfaction at Rupit Regional General Hospital is significantly influenced by the tangible and assurance dimensions. Hospital management is advised to prioritize improvements in the assurance and tangible dimensions through regular training for staff and upgrades to facilities and infrastructure to sustainably enhance patient satisfaction.
