There is no doubt that Indonesia is one of the countries which has local religions or beliefs with a considerable number of followers, so that the state needs to protect of the followers of these religions. However, after the passing of the government regulation on the recognition of particular official religions in the country, various issues related to formally unrecognized religions began to emerge, including discrimination by the government, especially in administrative matters, as well as social discrimination by the community that denies their existence. Various methods are used by the state to minimize the discriminatory attitudes by issuing multiple regulations and policies, but still it is not considered satisfactory to satisfy all parties, especially those who have been discriminated.

This article explains the Hamas movement’s influence on Palestinian social conditions. This paper’s purpose is to describe the hegemony of Hamas in Palestine and its influence on the social behavior of the Palestinian people. The problem in this study is how the Hamas movement affects the social conditions of the Palestinian people. This research used a qualitative interpretive method and a hermeneutic method. This study uses Gramsci’s theory of hegemony as a scalpel. The results of this paper indicate that the hegemony of Hamas in Palestine affects the mindset, behavior, and vision of the Palestinian people. The Hamas movement influences people’s minds to defend and fight for the Palestinian territories from Israel. Hamas also forms the mindset of the people to seize power from Fatah, which is its political opponent in Palestine, who has different views on the form of a Palestinian state.

Abstract

This community service activity aimed to strengthen the values of religious moderation among the congregation of Majelis Nurul Musthafa, Turisari, Palur, Mojolaban, Sukoharjo, through an in-depth study of the meaning of Qashidah Burdah by Imam al-Busiri. The activity was motivated by the need to transform the recitation of Qashidah Burdah from a routine religious practice into a reflective learning process that emphasizes moral, spiritual, and social values. This program used a descriptive-qualitative approach with participatory and reflective methods, involving the congregation as active participants in the learning process. The stages of the activity included initial observation, socialization of religious moderation, thematic study of selected verses of Qashidah Burdah, reflective discussion, and assistance in preparing the annual da’wah theme of the majelis. The results showed that the congregation began to understand Qashidah Burdah not only as a text of praise to Prophet Muhammad, but also as a source of values related to gentleness, tolerance, balance, moral exemplarity, and universal compassion. The activity also resulted in the formulation of an annual study theme based on religious moderation and the formation of moderate da’wah cadres. This community service contributes to developing a model of cultural da’wah based on classical Islamic literature, religious literacy, and community-based character education.
