Abstract

This study aimed to discover the role of Fishery extension Officers in Developing Fish Aquaculturer Groups (POKDAKAN) in East Balikpapan Sub-district, Balikpapan, and the obstacles faced by the fishery extension officers in performing their role to develop the fish Aquaculturer groups (POKDAKAN) in East Balikpapan Sub-district. The primary data collection was conducted in November 2021 in East Balikpapan Sub-district; the primary data using an interview was collected using the list of questions based on the study objective. The sampling method referred to the census method involving 56 fish aquaculturer groups as the respondent. The findings showed that the role of fishery extension officers as motivators and communicators was in the “Strongly Play a Role” category, while the role of fishery extension officers as facilitators, mediators, and organizers was in the “Play a Role” category. The overall fish aquaculturer groups’ perception of the role of fishery extension officers in East Balikpapan Sub-district was in the “Strongly Play a Role” category with an average score of 37.85 in the score range between 37.36 and 48.00. The obstacle faced by the fishery extension officers in developing fish aquaculturer groups was the difficulty in passing by the damaged access road to the location during the rainy season. Another obstacle was that the officers did not frequently receive information updates regarding the technology from the relevant institution/office.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the actual activities of fisherwomen at Selangan Laut that produce shrimp paste. In addition to analyzing the feasibility of their business. Further study of cleaner production options that can be applied in the processing activities to be more effective in terms of cost, time and energy and environmental friendly. Data were collected through interviews and observation techniques participate, then analyzed descriptively by tabulation and flow charts include financial analysis. Results showed financially fermented shrimp processing business conducted by the wives of the fishermen to be developed because the investment criteria NPV USD 29149.80> 0, the value of IRR 35%> 10% OCC, 1.23 times Net BCR> 1 time and Payback period of 2.98 years. In the processing of shrimp paste can still be improved efficiency and hygiene. Efforts that can be done is to make the SOP (standard operating procedure) processing shrimp paste, provides storage of raw materials and the layout of the equipment used. In terms of promotions and marketing seeks to follow events / fairs food industry, analyzing the nutritional value as well as providing content in the form of certified halal label, expiration date and composition of nutrients that are safe for consumption and widely known.

Abstract

Amplang XYZ is processing bussiness using milkfish (Chanos chanos) as primaryi ngrediemt . The purposes of the study were to: 1) analyzing consumer characteristics; 2) measuring CSI; 3) identifying the attributes that to improved a quality in Amplang XYZ. The study conducted from June 2021 to September 2021. Sampling method was non probability sampling with 50 respondents by using accidental and purposive samplings. Analysis method employed descriptive analysis, CSI, Importance Performance Analysis (IPA). The results of this study showed that the majority of Amplang XYZ consumer were 17-23 years old female, senior highschool graduated with married marital status and student with income range monthly less than Rp.500.000. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out the types of ship specifications, types of fishing gear, fishermen's catches and facilities at the PPI Tanjung Limau Port, Bontang City. Primary data were taken in March 2022, sampling using the purposive sampling method with a total sample of 30 respondents. The research data were analyzed by analytical descriptive qualitative methods. The results showed that the specifications of fishing ships have Grosee Tone (GT) ranging from 1 - 30 GT with the types of engines used are Mitsubishi, Domfeng and Jhiandong. The types of fishing gear used by fishermen are serok, tonda fishing rod, purse seine, transporter, swamp fishing rod, and gill net. The types of fish caught are skipjack tuna, kite fish, bawis fish and snapper. The fisheries facilities at PPI Tanjung Limau consist of 3 classification sections, namely basic facilities, functional facilities and supporting facilities. Abstract

Usaha Kerupuk Kepiting ini tidak dapat terlepas dari aspek kelayakan yang meliputi biaya investasi, biaya operasional, produksi dan harga jual. Aspek tersebut sangat mempengaruhi kelayakan usaha. Tujuan penelitian untuk menganalisis kelayakan usaha pengolahan kerupuk kepiting bakau (Scylla serrata) Produksi Mulia Sumber Rezeki di Desa Muara Bengalon Kecamatan Bengalon dengan indikator R/C Ratio, Break Even Point (BEP) dan Payback Period (PP). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan sejak September 2022 sampai dengan April 2023 di Desa Muara Bengalon Kecamatan Bengalon Kabupaten Kutai Timur. Sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 2 responden dengan menggunakan metode pengambilan sampel jenuh (sensus sampling). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan pada usaha olahan kerupuk kepiting bakau produksi Mulia Sumber Rezeki di Desa Muara Bengalon Kecamatan Bengalon Kabupaten Kutai Timur berdasarkan analisis kelayakan usaha menguntungkan dan layak untuk dijalankan dengan melihat indikator R/C Ratio, Break Even Point (BEP), Payback Period (PP).

Abstract

Pengembangan budidaya ikan dengan memanfaatkan lahan pekarangan masih belum banyak dilakukan. Sementara masyarakat desa ini memiliki potensi yang bisa dikembangkan untuk mendukung pengembangan usaha perikanan. Masyarakat pada umumnya memiliki lahan pekarangan yang cukup luas, yang dapat dimanfaatkan untuk usaha produktif seperti usaha budidaya ikan. Pengenalan kolam terpal kepada masyarakat merupakan sebuah alternatif dalam upaya pengembangan budidaya ikan, dengan memanfaatkan lahan pekarangan. Usaha ini merupakan sebuah terobosan yang bisa diterapkan pada masyarakat desa ini, sehingga melalui kegiatan penyuluhan dan pelatihan yang diberikan kepada masyarakat dapat menumbuhkan minat dan motivasi. Metode pendekatan dilakukan melalui penyuluhan dan diskusi tentang model pengembangan budidaya ikan di lahan pekarangan kepada masyarakat sasaran. Melalui kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ditargetkan untuk memberikan motivasi dan pengenalan budidaya ikan dengan memanfaatkan lahan pekarangan. Kepada sasaran diberikan pengenalan dan langkah langkah yang dilakukan dalam proses budidaya ikan. Proses komunikasi timbal balik diterapkan pada kegiatan ini, sehingga terjadi transfer pengetahuan dan teknologi secara seimbang. Dari hasil kegiatan bahwa pada umumnya sasaran antusias dan termotivasi untuk mengembangan usaha dengan kolam terpal.

Abstract

Perikanan merupakan sektor yang terkena dampak yang cukup besar akibat perubahan iklim, satu diantaranya yaitu budidaya tambak. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui perubahan iklim apa yang dirasakan serta pengetahuan strategi adaptasi yang dilakukan petambak dalam menghadapi perubahan iklim. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data yaitu wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan model analisis data interaktif dari Miles, Huberman, dan Saldana dengan tahapan Pengumupulan data, Kondensasi data, Penyajian data, dan Penarikan Kesimpulan. Hasil Penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa dalam lima tahun terakhir perubahan iklim di Desa Salo Palai memberikan dampak signifikan pada tambak yaitu cuaca yang tidak menentu, curah hujan yang tinggi, peningkatan suhu air tambak dari biasanya dan terjadinya banjir rob pada tambak. Adapun bentuk strategi adaptasi strategi adaptasi yang dilakukan berdasarkan pengalaman selama menjadi petambak yakni merubah jadwal panen, melakukan pembuangan air tambak, meningkatkan sirkulasi air, dan melakukan penambahan tanggul tambak.
