Abstract

Data from the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) in 2017, the global prevalence rate was 425 million people in the world experiencing DM. Estimated in 2045, it will increase to 48% (629 million) among DM sufferers aged 20-79 years. Elderly is a process of aging with increasing age, which is characterized by decreasing the function of the body's organs.  To determine the correlation between lifestyle factors and blood glucose levels to elderly at Elderly Posyandu in Pelem Village, Kediri District.  The research design was quantitative research with a cross-sectional approach. The research sample was elderly from Pelem Village, totaling 65 respondents. The independent variables were lifestyle factors (physical activity, frequency of carbohydrate consumption, frequency of fiber consumption, obesity and medication compliance), while the dependent variable was blood glucose level. The measuring instruments used questionnaires and GDA measurement tools. Data processing used univariate and bivariate tests with chi-square. Univariate analysis showed that most of elderly were aged 66-70 years (38.5%), male (63.1%), low education (52.3%) and not working (41.5%). Bivariate results showed correlation between lifestyle factors such as physical activity (p=0.007), frequency of carbohydrate consumption (p=0.028), frequency of fiber consumption (p=0.005), obesity (p=0.029) and medication compliance (p=0.032) and blood glucose levels to elderly. There was correlation between lifestyle factors and blood glucose levels to elderly.

Abstract

The modernization of today's lifestyle has created a trend in the lives of the population in Indonesia. Media as an information channel is one of the important components in health education. The purpose of the study was to determine the effectiveness of education about clean and healthy living behavior on adolescent’s healthy behavior through educational videos. The research sample was students at STIKes Bhakti Mulia semester 1, with purposive sampling, a total of 40 respondents. The research was conducted by giving a pretest and posttest after treatment. The data source was taken from primary data with a research instrument in the form of a healthy behavior questionnaire. Data analysis using the SPSS for window program, data analysis with univariate and bivariate using paired t samples. The results showed that the mean healthy behavior before education was 24.48, then increased after education by 30.50. Based on the paired t test, the p-value is 0.000, this means that there is a significant difference in the healthy behavior of adolescents before and after being given education on clean and healthy living behavior through videos. The conclusion is that education about clean and healthy living behavior through educational videos is effective in improving adolescents' clean and healthy living behavior.

Abstract

Stroke is a brain dysfunction that occurs suddenly due to disruption of blood flow to the brain, and this condition can be experienced by anyone, at any time. In Indonesia, the prevalence of stroke has increased from 7% to 10.9%. It is estimated that around 500,000 people suffer from stroke each year, with around 25% dying and the remaining 75% experiencing hemiparesis, which is muscle weakness on one side of the body. At the ILP Dahlia Integrated Health Post (Posyandu), there are 10 elderly people who experience weakness and are unable to carry out activities due to stroke. The purpose of this community service is to provide education about post-stroke rehabilitation for the elderly. The community service method used is providing education to participants. The number of community service participants was 35 elderly people at the ILP Dahlia Integrated Health Post, Pelem Village, Pare District, Kediri Regency. The results of the Community Service showed an increase in knowledge of community service participants after the counseling on post-stroke rehabilitation for the elderly, with an increase in knowledge in the good category of 71% compared to before the counseling the knowledge was in the good category of 5%. Knowledge is the basis for someone in making a decision because it is related to a person's ability to make the right choice, where knowledge is the basis for forming behavior.
