Abstract

High demand for plastic products from year to year creates the need for plastic molding machines that can mass produce plastic products. An example of a plastic molding machine used at PT. X is a VK type extrusion blow molding (EBM) machine. Based on data from PT. X, the downtime of the VK type EBM machine reached 215.74 hours in 2021-2023. Therefore, improvements are needed in the machine maintenance management system. The purpose of this research is to determine the critical components, determine the reliability value of the critical components, and also establish a preventive maintenance schedule along with a cost budget plan for each critical component of the VK type extrusion blow molding machine at PT. X to increase the effectiveness of existing production activities. The method used is Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) with the application of RCA and FMEA methods to find critical components, then calculate the reliability of critical components as a reference for making preventive maintenance schedules. The data used are the failure data of VK type EBM machine in 2021-2023 period. The results of this study obtained 4 critical components with a reliability value of 0.5, namely the clamping unit at 210.3149 hours, the cutting unit at 79.9911 hours, the head unit at 677.5324 hours, and the hydraulic unit at 424.1550 hours. Maintenance planning is based on the IRRO (Inspection, Repair, Replace, Overhaul) method. The total maintenance cost for the period 2025 is Rp 35,093,903, which reduces the cost by 8.5% compared to 2023.

Abstract

Technological developments will gradually be able to replace the role of human work. One of the most interesting primary functions of humans is the eye. Object recognition is the main point in technology to identify objects in images or videos. This research implements surgical tool detection to determine the retrieval point on the robotic arm. The surgical tool detection method used is to separate the object from the background using the OpenCV library. First, convert the image to HSV (Hue Saturation Value). Second, look for the threshold of the HSV image which has been separated by channels. This is done to obtain sharp image contrast. Next, contour detection for each object. The retrieval points are obtained from moment calculations by contour. The experimental results showed that the center point could be detected well even if the position of the surgical tool was changed.

Abstract

A PWM rectifier is a power converter that functions to convert alternating current into direct current using pulse width modulation (PWM). The baseplate is an important part of the PWM rectifier box, which acts as a stack module holder and has an important role in maintaining the stack module and increasing the power conversion efficiency and reliability of the train traction system. This study aims to determine the effect of variations in material and plate thickness used on Von Mises stress, deformation, and safety factors as well as the mechanical properties of the designed baseplate. The research method used is finite element analysis (FEA) by doing 3D modelling using CAD software and a simulation process using computer-aided engineering (CAE) software with material and plate thickness variations. The results obtained the best baseplate based on the value of Von Mises stress and minimum deformation, as well as the maximum safety factor, namely the baseplate with SS400 material with a plate thickness of 5 mm, with a minimum Von Mises stress value of 76.374 MPa, a minimum deformation value of 0.13611 mm, and a maximum safety factor value of 3.1424. It indicates the effect of material and plate thickness on the value of Von Mises stress, deformation and the resulting safety factor, thus affecting the mechanical properties of a good and safe baseplate in maintaining the performance of the stack module.

Abstract

Tidak diketahuinya energi pukul (EP) hasil uji pukul dalam pembuatan spesimen plastik dengan printer 3D berbagai tebal per lapisan menjadi masalah yang dihadapi. Tujuan analisis untuk memperoleh EP spesimen plastik yang linier atau tidak. Metoda analisis meliputi: desain bentuk dan ukuran spesimen plastik, pencetakan spesimen dengan printer 3D dari filamen plastik jenis PLA diameter 1,75 mm dimulai dari tebal lapisan 0,1 mm hingga 0,5 mm dengan kelipatan lapisan 0,05 mm dan dibuat fulfill (tidak berongga) pada temperatur 200℃, uji pukul charpy, perhitungan EP, dan analisis hasil. Hasil analisis uji pukul dari spesimen tebal layer 0,1-0,35, EP naik dan spesimen tebal lapisan 0,4-0,5 EP mulai turun dan nilainya sama. Puncak EP yang dihasilkan berada pada tebal lapisan 0,35 mm dengan EP senilai 1,264 J dan energi pukul spesifik (EPS) atau harga impact (HI) senilai 0,01261 J/mm2 dan di posisi kedua pada tebal lapisan 0,3 mm dengan EP senilai 1,215 J dan EPS senilai 0,01212 J/mm2 yang menunjukkan bahwa hasilnya tidak linier atau semakin tebal lapisan tidak selalu kekuatannya semakin besar dan spesimennya semakin kuat dan paling kuat berada di tebal lapisan 0,35 mm. Hasil visual spesimen uji pukul dari plastik dengan printer 3D semakin kecil lapisan yang digunakan semakin halus dan memiliki estetika yang bagus.

Abstract

Bimetal joints are often used in various industries, such as automotive, power generation, electronics, and manufacturing. This is because bimetal joints allow the joining of two types of metal with different properties. Welding two different types of metal can pose its own challenges, such as the difficulty of controlling welding parameters so that the results are optimal for both types of metal, as well as differences in the thermal and mechanical properties of the two metals. This has led to extensive research on bimetal plate connections. Based on this background, this research aims to determine the effect of variations in flow rate and current strength on the tensile strength of robotic welding bimetal welded joints, as well as determine the results of macro photos of fractures resulting from tensile tests for each variation. The research was carried out experimentally where each variation was repeated with data 3 times. Based on the results and discussion, it is known that the optimal gas flow rate in general is 20 l/min, where the tensile strength reaches 353.1442 MPa–455.5458 MPa. At this flow rate, the dominant fracture occurs in the base metal and is ductile, which indicates good plastic deformation. On the other hand, gas flow that is too low or too high causes joint defects and reduces the tensile strength. Meanwhile, other welding parameters, namely variations in welding current, affect tensile strength. At a gas flow of 10 l/min, increasing the current to 180 A produces the highest tensile strength of 449.4357 MPa with ductile fracture characteristics. However, at a current of 120 A there is a significant decrease due to overheating, especially at higher gas flows such as 20 l/min and 30 l/min, which results in brittle fracture in the heat-affected zone (HAZ). The results of this research contribute to the understanding of the influence of welding parameters on the tensile strength and fracture characteristics of bimetallic joints. This research can be a reference for the development of more efficient and reliable welding processes in various industries, such as automotive, power generation and manufacturing, which require bimetallic joints with optimal quality.

Abstract

Salah satu prasarana layanan PAUD yang utama adalah ketersediaan air bersih. Penyediaan fasilitas sanitasi sekolah merupakan salah satu prioritas pembangunan yang termasuk ke dalam tujuan dari Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Prasarana layanan PAUD yang utama dan berhubungan dengan ketersediaan air bersih adalah kamar mandi/ toilet, dapur dan area cuci. Mitra Program Pengabdian Masyarakat (PPm) ini adalah seluruh stakeholder dan komponen PAUD Bina Cendikia di Desa Sidorejo Kecamatan Jabung Kabupaten Malang. Selama ini kebutuhan air bersih di suplai dari sekolah yang berada di sebelah PAUD sehingga ketersediaannya tergantung pada pihak lain. Untuk itu, tujuan dari PPm ini adalah menyediakan sarana prasarana air bersih di sekolah yang dapat tersedia cukup dan kontinyu. Selain untuk kebutuhan sanitasi, air minum dan penyiraman tanaman, air bisa menjadi media pembelajaran melalui berbagai kegiatan yang menyenangkan dan menarik bagi siswa. Metode pelaksanaan PPm meliputi tahapan koordinasi dan survey lokasi, penentuan spesifikasi teknis sumur bor dan kelengkapannya, pembuatan sumur bor, serah terima, sosialisasi dan praktek penggunaan air sebagai media pembelajaran. Selanjutnya juga dilakukan monitoring dan evaluasi (Monev) kegiatan untuk mengetahui tingkat keberhasilan program. Hasil kegiatan berupa tersedianya air bersih untuk berbagai kebutuhan sekolah dan juga pengayaan pembelajaran menggunakan media air.

Abstract

Plastic injection molding is a rapidly growing method of forming plastic materials in the modern era. The injection molding process is used to create gallon caps by melting plastic materials, but not always yield perfect results, resulting in defects. Short shot and flash defects are the most common defects during the mold-making process, affecting the product's weight. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of variations in holding pressure and holding time parameters on short-shot defects, flash defects, and weight in gallon cap products. The presence of short shot and flash defects can lead to discrepancies in the weight of gallon cap products compared to existing standards. This method used an experimental research approach by varying the independent variables of holding pressure and holding time, with data processing done using the design of experiments method utilizing statistical software. The parameter settings for this testing included holding pressure variations of 240 bar, 265 bar, and 290 bar, along with holding time variations of 0.6 seconds, 0.8 seconds, and 1 second. The research results show that the independent variables and holding time significantly affect the dependent variables of short shot defects, flash defects, and the weight of gallon cap products. The ideal parameters for manufacturing gallon caps are using the injection molding process with a holding pressure of 265 bar, a holding time of 0.6 seconds, and a product weight of 10,627 grams, with no product defects such as short shot defects and flash defects observed in a single trial. This can enhance the quality and quantity of gallon cap production.

Abstract

This study investigates the development and implementation of a dual-axis solar tracking system for off-grid 100Wp photovoltaic (PV) systems to enhance energy harvesting efficiency and ensure sustainable power generation. The research addresses the limitations of fixed-tilt PV systems, which often underperform due to suboptimal solar alignment, especially in regions with dynamic weather conditions. The results demonstrated a significant increase in energy output, achieving up to 13,75% higher efficiency compared to static systems under similar operational conditions. This improvement is attributed to the system's ability to maintain optimal solar panel orientation throughout the day, facilitated by an advanced tracking algorithm and real-time sensor integration. The distinctive features of the developed system include its cost-effective design, adaptability to various geographical locations, and robust performance under fluctuating environmental conditions. The findings suggest that the dual-axis tracking system is wellsuited for deployment in remote or off-grid areas where reliable and efficient power generation is critical. Practical applications of this system are particularly relevant for rural electrification, agricultural irrigation systems, and other decentralized energy solutions in regions with abundant solar resources.

Abstract

Dusun Nongkosongo merupakan bagian dari Desa Wringinsongo yang memiliki wilayah subur. Mayoritas pekerjaan masyarakat adalah petani dan juga peternak sapi perah. Permasalahan yang ada di Desa Wringinsongo adalah kurangnya kesadaran dan pengetahuan warga untuk memilah sampah. Sedangkan di desa tersebut sudah terdapat bank sampah, namun dari data bank sampah, hanya ada 4 kepala keluarga yang menjadi nasabah bank sampah. Metode pelatihan ini yang pertama survey lokasi, kedua koordinasi dengan Kepala Dusun Nongkosongo, ketiga pendataan informasi dan Survey ke Bank Sampah tentang jumlah nasabah sebelum dan sesudah pelatihan, keempat persiapan alat, bahan dan reward, kelima pelatihan pemilahan sampah anorganik kepada warga dan pengisian kuesioner, keenam penyerahan reward, dan ketujuh evaluasi kegiatan. Tujuan pelatihan ini yang pertama adalah meningkatkan jumlah nasabah bank sampah di Desa Wringinsongo khususnya dusun Nongkosongo. Yang kedua pemberian reward bagi warga yang telah menjadi nasabah bank sampah dengan 3 pengumpul sampah terbanyak. Hasil yang pertama adalah peningkatan nasabah bank sampah yang semula 4 KK menjadi 32 KK dari tahun 2023 sampai 2024. Yang kedua, tim PPM Polinema telah memberikan reward juara 1, 2 dan 3 kepada nasabah bank sampah yang telah mengumpulkan serta menyetorkan sampah anorganik terbanyak ke bank sampah, selain itu pemberian reward pengurus bank sampah sebanyak 3 orang sebagai dedikasinya dalam mengurus bank sampah. Langkah selanjutnya tim PPM Polinema akan mengadakan pelatihan kembali dengan tujuan memberi edukasi berkelanjutan, memantau keaktifan nasabah bank sampah sehingga nasabah bank sampah semakin bertambah

Abstract

Desa Merjosari, Kota Malang adalah desa yang sedang berkembang terlebih lagi kegiatan karang taruna. Karang taruna desa Merjosari beberapa tahun yang lalu adalah salah satu dari penerima mesin las dari dana PKM Polinema yang mana mesin las tersebut sudah banyak digunakan untuk membuat pagar, tenda untuk masjid setempat dan portal. Setelah mendapat mesin las, para pemuda karang taruna tersebut ingin sekali untuk belajar desain gambar dengan AutoCAD sehingga dapat membuat beraneka desain untuk pagar. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian kepada masyarakat adalah mengadakan pelatihan dasar-dasar AutoCAD 2D dan 3D untuk para pemuda karang taruna RW 01 Desa Merjosari, Kota Malang dengan tetap mengikuti protokol kesehatan. Tim Polinema mengajarkan AutoCAD kepada karang taruna mulai dari awal karena tidak ada seorangpun dari anggota karang taruna yang bisa menggambar dengan AutoCAD. Dari hasil pelatihan menggambar 2D dan 3D dengan AutoCAD yang telah dilaksanakan, Para pemuda karang taruna telah dapat menggambar dengan AutoCAD 2D dan 3D yang tadinya tidak bisa sama sekali menjadi bisa menggambar desain dengan AutoCAD 2D dan 3D
