Abstract

(p < 0,05).The Effectiveness of Skimming Technique in Speed Reading Learning for Class VIII Students of MTs Manba'ul'ulum Silebu Pancalang KuninganAbstractThe purpose of this study was to test the effectiveness of the skimming technique in speed reading learning for eighth grade students of MTs Manba'ul'ulum. This study used a quantitative method using a pretest-posttest control group design. There were two variables used, namely the independent variable and the dependent variable. The population of this study was grade VIII which consisted of three classes, from the 3 classes that became the research population, 2 classes were selected, namely class VIII A as the experimental group and VIII C as the control group. The data collection method used a multiple-option speed reading ability test method. The results of this study, there were significant differences in speed reading skills between students who participated in speed reading learning using the skimming method and students who participated in speed reading learning without using the skimming method. This was indicated by the results of the t-test of the final test scores of the control group and the experimental group obtained values (t count = 2.332; p = 0.029; p <0.05). The Skimming method was proven to be effective in speed reading learning for eighth grade students of MTs Manba'ul'ulum Silebu. This is indicated by the difference in the results of the initial t-test and the final test of the experimental group, which obtained a calculated t of 5.144 and a p of 0.000 (p < 0.05).

Abstract

The study aims to improve students' ability to analyze religious values and intrinsic elements in a collection of short stories written by grade IX students, using the theory of religious values according to Rodney Stark and Charles Y. Glock, and to downstream the results of the analysis into an assessment instrument in the form of Quizizz. Religiosity or religious attitudes in literary works can appear in every element of the literary work. In prose literary works, religiosity can be seen from the depiction of the setting (time, place, objects), plot, story theme, and of course characterization. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Data in the form of narrative quotes, dialogues and religious values contained in the collection of short stories written by grade IX students. Based on the theory of Rodney Stark and Charles Y. Glock, five types of religious values were found in the collection of short stories written by students. The results of this study indicate that the collection of short story writing of grade IX students found religious belief (belief) with a total of 5 data, religious practice (carrying out obligations) with a total of 25 data, religious feeling (appreciation) with a total of 8 data, religious knowledge (knowledge) with a total of 9 data, and religious effect (behavior) with a total of 10 data. This quiz is expected to improve students' understanding of the contents of short stories that include religious values and students' understanding of intrinsic elements in short stories.
