Abstract

The purpose of this research is to develop a valid textbook in fostering student learning motivation. This type of research is development research, namely the development of textbooks with the Plomp model: (1) initial investigation, (2) design, (3) realization/construction, (4) testing, evaluation and revision, (5) implementation. The subjects of this study were students of the Mathematics Education Study Program of STKIP Andi Matappa. Research instrument: textbook validation sheet. Research results: the content validity score of the coursebook is included in the high category. This shows that the derivative calculus textbook that has been developed meets the validity elements to foster student learning motivation.

Abstract

Peningkatan motivasi belajar mahasiswa sangat penting, sehingga penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan buku ajar yang valid, praktis, dan efektif. Penelitian pengembangan, merupakan jenis penelitian ini dengan mengembangkan buku ajar menggunakan model 4 D Thiagarajan: (1) define; (2) design; (3) develop; dan (4) disseminate. Mahasiswa Prodi Pendidikan Matematika Universitas Khairun adalah subjek penelitian ini. Instrumen penelitian:(1) lembar validasi buku ajar, (2) lembar kepraktisan buku ajar, dan (3) tes motivasi belajar siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) isi dan kredibilitas buku ajar memenuhi kategori validitas tinggi; (2) skor kepraktisan buku ajar memenuhi kategori praktis; dan (3) motivasi belajar siswa meningkat, dengan rata-rata skor berada di kategori medium. Motivasi belajar mahasiswa meningkat dengan penerapan buku ajar statistika nonparametrik yang valid, praktis, dan efektif.

Abstract

Flood disasters have been a never-ending problem for people all over the world from the past, present and in the future. These disasters can be the result of natural events or the result of human activities and activities, and can even be caused simultaneously by nature and humans. MTSN 3 Muaro Jambi as one of the schools located in Jambi Province has a high potential for flood disasters. This school is at risk of flooding every year due to the overflow of the Batanghari river which causes flooding in the school. This service activity is partnered with MTSN 3 Muaro Jambi. This service activity aims to increase school preparedness in dealing with flood disasters, provide education about the concept of disaster preparedness schools, and increase awareness of the character of caring for the environment in students in a sustainable manner. The number of participants who took part in this activity were 100 students. Activities carried out in school classrooms. The series of activities in this service are the implementation of pre-tests, education about flood disasters which include the definition of floods, types of floods, factors that cause floods, flood prevention, post-disaster diseases, and clean and healthy living behavior. Based on the results of the evaluation, the participants felt enthusiastic about participating in the activity and after being given counseling there was an increase in students’ knowledge about disaster preparedness. This disaster preparedness school is the best alternative in reducing the impact of disasters because schools are an effective vehicle in providing the effect of exchanging information, knowledge and skills to the nearest community, especially to children because children are the most vulnerable group affected by disasters.

Abstract

This research aims to create a valid, practical, and effective digital textbook that positively impacts student learning motivation. The development research is based on the 4 D model of Thiagarajan: (1) definition, (2) design, (3) development, and (4) dissemination. The research subjects involve students from the Mathematics Education Study Program at STKIP Andi Matappa and Khairun University. The research instruments consist of a textbook validation sheet, a practicality sheet, and a learning motivation test. The results conclude that the digital textbook has high validity, the practicality sheet has a practical score, and student learning motivation has increased, with an average score at the medium level. With the application of the digital calculus I textbook along with the valid, practical, and effective Sigil software, student learning motivation has increased

Abstract

In In the modern era, circumcision methods have undergone many innovations. However, the conventional methods that are still widely used often cause fear in children and slow down the recovery process, thereby disrupting daily activities. One innovative solution is the needle-free combo sealer method, which is minimally painful and accelerates healing. Unfortunately, this method is not yet widely known by the public, particularly in the city of Jambi and the surrounding areas of the Jami'atul Berkah Foundation. On the other hand, economic constraints remain the primary barrier for orphans and the underprivileged in accessing modern circumcision services. This community service initiative aims to assist them through health education and the implementation of circumcision procedures using the combo sealer method. Activities include counseling, informed consent, medication administration, procedures performed by professional medical staff, and outcome evaluation. This method has been proven to produce neater results, minimal bleeding, no stitches or bandages, and allows children to resume activities sooner.

Abstract

Background: Drowning is defined as death caused by asphyxia due to immersion in water that occurs within 24 hours of the incident. Immediate and appropriate first aid is essential to increase the chances of survival. Lifeguards, as the front line in aquatic emergencies, must have adequate knowledge and skills in performing first aid for drowning victims. Health education is one of the efforts to improve lifeguards' understanding and ability to act promptly and correctly in such critical situations. Method: This study employed a pre-experimental research design using a one-group pretest-posttest approach. A total of 33 lifeguards from three different swimming pools in Jambi City were selected using a total sampling technique. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire measuring the level of knowledge regarding first aid for drowning victims before and after the health education intervention. To determine the significance of the changes in knowledge, data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test. Results: The results of the bivariate analysis using the Wilcoxon test showed a Z value of -5.205 with a significance level of 0.001 (p < 0.05). These findings indicate a statistically significant improvement in lifeguards’ knowledge after receiving health education. Therefore, the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted. Conclusion: Health education has a significant positive effect on increasing lifeguard knowledge regarding first aid for drowning victims in Jambi City swimming pools. These results emphasize the importance of continuous education and training programs to enhance the readiness and effectiveness of lifeguards in responding to drowning emergencies.

Abstract

Background: Traffic accidents involving school-aged children are a public health concern in Indonesia, particularly due to inadequate road safety education. The School Safety Zone (Zona Selamat Sekolah/ZOSS) program and First Aid (P3K) knowledge are critical in reducing the impact of accidents, yet many students lack awareness. Educational innovations such as animated videos are considered more effective than traditional lectures in improving student knowledge. Method: This study used a one-group pretest-posttest design involving 30 students from SDN 47 Jambi City. The intervention consisted of an animated video covering ZOSS and First Aid materials, followed by discussion. Student knowledge was assessed using a validated questionnaire before and after the intervention. Data were analyzed using paired t-tests. Results: Prior to the intervention, 63.3% of students were in the "poor" knowledge category, with only 3.3% classified as "good." After the intervention, 76.7% of students showed "good" knowledge. Statistical analysis showed a significant improvement in mean scores from 53.1 to 82.7 (p < 0.001). Conclusion: Media-based education using animated videos significantly improves students’ knowledge of ZOSS and First Aid. This method is recommended for enhancing traffic safety and emergency preparedness education in primary schools.

Abstract

Tepung porang diperoleh dari proses pengeringan dan pengayakan umbi porang, yang mana memiliki kadar glukomanan yang tinggi. Glukomanan merupakan serat pangan larut air yang mengandung kalori yang rendah dan banyak digunakan sebagai bahan pengental dalam industri pangan. Salah satu proses pengolahan porang menjadi glukomanan diantaranya adalah pengayakan rotary screen, yaitu suatu proses pemisahan bahan berdasarkan ukuran lubang kawat atau mesh yang terdapat pada ayakan yang berputar. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh sudut kemiringan dan kecepatan putaran ayakan terhadap kinerja mesin rotary screen dan menentukan kondisi terbaik mesin rotary screen dalam pemisahan glukomanan tepung porang. Mesin pemisah yang digunakan jenis rotary screen dengan dua jenis ukuran mesh. Sudut kemiringan yang digunakan 5°, 10°, dan 15°, kecepatan putaran ayakan divariasikan pada 30 rpm, 40 rpm,dan 50 rpm. Desain penelitian yang dipilih untuk dua faktor dan dua level adalah full factorial, dimana massa input awal tepung porang sebanyak 1 kg. Hasil analisis ANOVA menunjukkan bahwa kedua parameter, baik sudut kemiringan ataupun kecepatan putaran berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap massa glukomanan dengan nilai P-value sebesar 0,03, sedangkan kecepatan putaran ayakan sebesar 0,017. Berdasarkan hasil respon parameter terbaik diperoleh bahwa variasi sudut kemiringan 5° dan kecepatan putaran ayakan 30 rpm memberikan hasil terbesar dengan rendemen glukomanan sebesar 340 gram.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan buku ajar yang valid dan efektif untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep mahasiswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan, yaitu pengembangan buku ajar dengan model Plomp: (1) penyelidikan awal, (2) perancangan, (3) realisasi/konstruksi, (4) pengujian, evaluasi dan revisi, (5) implementasi. Subyek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika STKIP Andi Matappa. Instrumen penelitian: (1)lembar validasi buku ajar, (2) tes pemahaman konsep mahasiswa. Hasil penelitian.: (1) skor validitas isi dan reliabilitas buku ajar termasuk dalam kategori tinggi; (2) Ada peningkatan pemahaman konsep mahasiswa dengan rata2-rata ngain berada pada kategori medium. Buku Ajar kalkulus derivatif telah memenuhi kriteria valid, reliabel serta efektif dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep mahasiswa STKIP Andi Matappa
