Abstract

This study aims to find out the youth participation and spiritual contributionof St. Don Bosco for youth assistance in church’s life in the Parish of St. MikaelTamiang Layang. This research is a descriptive qualitative research with datacollection technique through interview, observation and documentation. Theresult of this study finds out that the youth motivation in church activies is lack.It is caused by internal and external factors. Some internal factors are the lackof awareness, and appreciation of their vocation as the next generation of theChurch. Some external factors are lack of support and motivation from thosearound them. The spirit of service owned by Saint Don Bosco can motivateand assist in mentoring young people to return enthusiastically in performingtheir duties as members of the Church.

Abstract

The authors raised the wisdom of Noi’an house in Dayak Blaman community as an example of indigenous peoples that live in peace with all the elements of nature creation. Noi’an house is one of the traditional ceremonies as a greatful expression and begged the protection of Sangiang Dewata for new house and the people who live in the house. It is hoped that the Church can always be united and continue to voice the gospel in everyday life, especially in cultural life. Churches and catechists should be able to inculturate local cultural wisdom with the Christian faith.

Abstract

Sidang Agung Gereja Katolik Indonesia (SAGKI) tahun 2000 memposisikan Komunitas Basis Gerejawi (KBG) sebagai wadah yang tepat bagi Gereja untuk berperan serta dalam membangun masyarakat yang lebih adil, sejahtera, demokratis dan manusiawi. Karena itu, gerakan pemberdayaan KBG dapat dipahami sebagai tanggapan atas panggilan murid Kristus untuk berpihak dan berjuang bagi kaum tersisih sehingga Kerajaan Allah sungguh meraja di tengah dunia. Senada dengan SAGKI 2000, artikel ini merefleksikan bagaimana menjalankan gerakan pemberdayaan KBG dengan merujuk pada Ajaran Sosial Gereja. Dalam hal ini, metode lingkaran pastoral merupakan salah satu jalan yang dapat dipakai dalam menjalankan gerakan pemberdayaan tersebut.

Abstract

Abstract:The strengthening of civil society was warmly discussed in Indonesia in the1990s with various actions in response to the New Order. In the discourseand history of the civil society movement, the role of religion is quite strategic.This article explores the development of the Basic Ecclesial Community asa form of civil societies that can contribute to the creation of new habits inthe society. The Basic Ecclesial Community can fortify its members fromeconomic structures that do not take sides to the equality of human dignityand justice. One way that can be taken by the Basic Ecclesial Community isthe strengthening of people’s economy through credit union in the middle ofeconomic globalization with the terms of market hegemony

Abstract

Originated from the Catholic Catechesis model that was developed by Indonesian Catholic Church, this article argues that the implementation of catechesis must bring the faithful to accept and understand the truth of the bible. The catechism model used should not obscure evangelical truth and faith inherited in the Catholic Church tradition. In this case, the translation model is a theological model that truly accepts the Bible and doctrinal traditions as being both contextual and complete. Therefore, the writer presents the Catechetical’s development by taking positive values from the contextualization of the translation model.
