Abstract

Abstract Plants resistance to Fusarium wilt can be developed by mutation breeding and in vitro selection techniques. The objectives of this research were to evaluated growth and development of banana plantlets cv. Ampyang (Musa acuminata, AAA) resistance to Fusarium wilt. The plant material used in this study was 9 (nine) code clones banana cv. Ampyang result from mutations induced by gamma irradiation (30, 45, and 50 Gy) and in vitro - in vivo selection, a collection of Plant Tissue Culture Laboratory Department of Biology UNJ. Plantlets multiplied for four months on Murashige and Skoog supplemented with2.25 mgL-1 Benzyl amino purine and 0.22 mgL-1 Thydiazuron and 0.175 mgL-1 Indole 3 acetyc-acid . Acclimatization and evaluation of plantlet growth and development in a greenhouse showed that percentage of survival rate of plantlet were ranging from 42.9 – 100%. There was phenotypic variation among those plantlet investigated in quantitative and qualitative character. Plantlet regenerated from clone A regenerated from gamma irradiation 30 Gy and after in vitro selection of Foc from isolate Medan showed significantly the highest number of leave and fresh weight. The less number of roots length and other phenotypic character were produced from clone B, D and F. All of the regenerated plantlets were successfully transferred into soil and they would be used to evaluate the existence of variants in a greenhouse. Abstract

ABSTRAK Membuka lahan pertanian baru pada lahan marginal yang merupakan tanah asam adalah salah satu solusi dalam peningkatan produksi beras. Kendala yang dihadapi pada solusi tersebut adalah tanah asam mengandung alumunium terlarut yang dapat meracuni tanaman. Tindakan efektif agar padi tetap dapat diproduksi pada tanah asam adalah dengan penyilangan galur padi yang bersifat toleran yaitu Cabacu dengan padi bersifat peka yaitu IR64 sehingga menghasilkan populasi galur toleran Al. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk validasi Quantitative Trait Loci (QTL) toleran Al pada galur padi hasil penyilangan Cabacu dengan IR64 pada generasi F7. Metode yang digunakan adalah eksperimen dengan menguji fenotipik menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap pola faktorial dan deskriptif dengan analisis data secara kualitatif menjelaskan hasil isolasi DNA. Data hasil pengamatan fenotipe diolah dengan program SPSS versi 16 untuk melihat sebaran data dan dilakukan uji normalitas menggunakan Uji Shapiro-Wilk. Dilakuan juga uji T untuk melihat keterpautan fenotipe dan genotipe. Hasil penelitian yaitu analisis uji fenotipe menunjukan bawa data distribusi secara normal. Sedangkan analisis marka tunggal menunjukan bahwa sifat toleran alumunium terletak pada kromosom 1 (RM5) Kata kunci: padi, Quantitative Trait Loci (QTL), toleran alumunium

Abstract

Background: Cisaat Village, located in Ciater District, Subang Regency, has significant agricultural potential. Most of its residents rely on agriculture as their primary source of livelihood. However, efforts to diversify agriculture and optimize land use in Cisaat Village have not been fully maximized. Most farmers still depend on conventional farming systems, which face challenges such as seasonal dependency, high production costs, and limited access to more efficient agricultural innovations. The purpose of comminity is introduce the public to the cultivation and processing of microgreens as a food source to boost the household economics in Cisaat Village, Ciater District, Subang Regency. Methods: The community service activity was carried out through socialization in the form of lectures, discussions, and demonstrations or hands-on practice on microgreen cultivation techniques and benefits. The evaluation was conducted using a pre-test before the activity and a post-test afterward to measure participants' improvement in understanding. The pre-test and post-test data were statistically analyzed using the Dependent T-test to determine the significance of differences before and after the activity. Results: Participants demonstrated high enthusiasm and were actively engaged throughout the activity. The T-test results showed a significant improvement in understanding, with the average pre-test score of 46.44 increasing sharply to 86.04 in the post-test (p < 0.05). This indicates that the applied method has proven to be effective. Conclusions: This socialization, combined with live demonstrations, proved helpful in introducing participants and boosting their interest in growing microgreens, both to meet household vegetable needs and as an additional income opportunity.

Abstract

Desa Sempan memiliki potensi komoditas pertanian yang sangat tinggi, keadaan ini dimanfaatkan oleh sekelompok Ibu Rumah Tangga (IRT) untuk mengolahnya menjadi produk yang bernilai ekonomi tinggi. Untuk mewadahi kegiatan produksi produk UMKM, ibu-ibu di Desa Sempan membentuk KUBE Berkah Mandiri. Produk UMKM yang terdapat di dalam KUBE tersebut belum memiliki perizinan produk. Oleh karena itu, melalui kegiatan pengabdian ini, tim pengabdi memfasilitasi perizinan produk, dan pemasaran berbasis digital untuk menjangkau pasar yang lebih luas. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah sosialisasi dan pendampingan langsung kepada anggota KUBE Berkah Mandiri. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian ini, seluruh anggota KUBE Berkah Mandiri telah mendapatkan Sertifikat PKP, Sertifikat SPP-IRT, label stiker produk, dan telah memiliki akun di E-Commerce Shopee dalam rangka perluasan jaringan pemasaran berbasis digital.

Abstract

Distilling citronella produces quite a large amount of citronella leaf waste. Each harvest season produces around two tons of wet citronella leaves which are then distilled to produce essential oil, leaving behind waste. Based on this, service was carried out in Jada Bahrin Village through outreach in processing citronella leaf waste into paper. It is hoped that this service can support the priority development of the 2017-2045 National Research Master Plan which focuses on the food-agriculture sector while still referring to the Bangka Belitung University Community Service Strategic Plan for 2021-2025.

Abstract

Problem of environmental pollution is a challenge for all living things on earth. One effort that can be made to increase environmental awareness is through education. One of the agents who can be involved in overcoming various existing environmental problems is students. In order to support students' ability to solve environmental pollution, it is important to be able to involve their scientific literacy. This research is a quantitative descriptive study using a survey method conducted at 2 high schools in the Jakarta area, involving a total of 197 class XI Science students. The data used in this research includes the results of scientific literacy tests and tests of students' environmental pollution problem-solving abilities. Data testing in this research includes normality, homogeneity, and linearity for correlational and regression analysis. Based on the results of the research conducted, it can be concluded that there is a positive correlation between scientific literacy and students' ability to solve environmental pollution problems. Based on these results, the implication in this research is that students' problem-solving abilities can be improved through strong scientific literacy.         Keywords: scientific literacy, problem-solving abilities, environmental pollution.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpmipa/v25i3.pp1183-1198
