Abstract

This study aims to redesign the warehouse layout by implementing a shared storage method to increase storage capacity and efficiency. The adhesive warehouse faces several problems, including an inefficient layout so that there are empty areas that have not been optimally utilized. In addition, workers experience difficulties in transferring and searching for goods because the storage system used is randomized and the warehouse is overcapacity. The approach used is descriptive quantitative. The analysis method includes calculating the average incoming and outgoing goods, space requirements (space requirements), aisle width (aisle), throughput value, assignment, and delivery distance of each area (rack) to the warehouse door. The results of the study showed that the proposed layout was able to increase storage capacity from 93 pallets to 102 pallets and reduce the distance of material handling by 9.24 meters. Thus, the shared storage method is effectively applied to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the PT. XYZ adhesive warehouse layout.

Abstract

This posts specifically examines perceptions of planning in supply chain management to maintain consistent quality of implementation in SME Bandung Raya. This study aims to determine the relationship between variables when applied to small food and beverage businesses, as well as provide recommendations for increasing business competitiveness to business actors and stakeholders related to SMEs in Bandung Raya. The lack of research on SMEs related to Supply Chain Quality Management (SCQM), Quality Performance, and Strategic Planning is the background for this study. The results of the literature review show that strategic planning is related to SCQM, but it has not been strongly proven empirically, especially in SMEs. The study method uses a quantitative approach and explanatory descriptive analysis, carried out on small food and beverage category businesses in Bandung Raya with a sample of 150 SMEs. The research results gave rise to a concept or model that is already strong. The influence of strategic planning on SCQM was recorded as significant at 0.887. The influence of SCQM on quality performance is significant at 0.829. The influence of strategic planning on quality performance through SCQM is significant at 0.736. SME perceptions are similar to those of strategic planning, and SCQM concludes that inadequate assessment, strategic communication, and the purpose and worth of SME goods can all contribute to this influence.

Abstract

Abstrak: Hasil identifikasi dan observasi mitra menunjukan bahwa UMKM menghadapi tantangan dalam menjaga kualitas produk akibat keterbatasan pemahaman dan keterampilan dalam penerapan sistem manajemen mutu terutama pada proses produksi. Atas permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh mitra, maka tujuan pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini yaitu meningkatnya pengetahuan mitra terkait manajemen kualitas yang tergambar pada desain proses produksi dan penggunaan checksheet sebagai alat kendali mutu. Metode yang diterapkan pada pengabdian ini adalah pendampingan melalui ceramah dan praktik langsung pebuatan diagram alur produksi dan checksheet . Mitra dalam kegiatan ini adalah Kelompok UMKM Pesona Rasa yang terdiri dari 24 UMKM. Kegiatan dilaksanakan di Kabupaten Karawang, Provinsi Jawa Barat. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui penyebaran kuesioner dalam bentuk pre-test dan post-test yang terdiri dari 10 pertanyaan terkait manajemen operasi pada umumnya dan pengendalian mutu pada khususnya. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman peserta dari 59% menjadi 85%.Abstract: The results of partner identification and observation show that MSMEs face challenges in maintaining product quality due to limited understanding and skills in implementing quality management systems, especially in the production process. Given the problems faced by partners, the objective of this community service is to increase partners' knowledge of quality management as reflected in production process design and the use of checksheets as a quality control tool. The method applied in this community service program was mentoring through lectures and hands-on practice in making production flowcharts and checksheets. The partners in this activity were the Pesona Rasa MSME Group, consisting of 24 MSMEs. The activity was carried out in Karawang Regency, West Java Province. Evaluation was conducted through the distribution of questionnaires in the form of pre-tests and post-tests consisting of 10 questions related to operations management in general and quality control in particular. The evaluation results showed an increase in participants' understanding from 59% to 85%.

Abstract

Kualitas produk yang diproduksi oleh suatu perusahaan tergantung mengenai suplai bahan awal dan sistem pembuatannya secara keseluruhan, suplai bahan awal dan sistem pembuatan memegang peran penting dalam menentukan mutu produk akhir. Dengan menerapkan inventaris uplai bahan awal dan sistem pembuatannya dengan benar, perusahaan dapat mengungkapkan tingkat kegagalan produk dan memastikan proses produksi yang baik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah guna memperjelas seperti apa persediaan suplai bahan awal dan sistem pembuatannya. Apakah terdapat hubungan secara statistik antara aspek persediaan bahan baku dan efektivitas proses produksi terhadap tingkat kualitas produk yang dihasilkan? Pendekatan menggunakan metode random sampling. Data triwulan dari tahun 2021 hingga 2022 digunakan guna penelitian ini. Data dikumpulkan melalui survei lapangan, observasi, dan wawancara. Dataset yang telah dikumpulkan selanjutnya diproses melalui tahapan analisis kuantitatif menggunakan Microsoft Excel dan SPSS26 dan dilakukan uji regresi linier berganda dengan menggunakan pengujian t dan pengujian f. Jumlah Persediaan bahan baku (X1) sudah cukup stabil pada bebrapa triwulan terakhir, sedangkan pada proses produksi (X2) berjalan kurang baik pada triwulan1-4 sedangkan pada triwulan berikutnya proses produksi cukup berjalan konsisten baik, dan kualitas produk (Y) yang dihasilkan sudah cukup baik. Merujuk hasil analisis statistik melalui uji F, ditemukan jikalau variabel Persediaan bahan baku dan proses produksi berkontribusi secara statistik terhadap peningkatan kualitas, ditunjukkan oleh Fhitung (59.557,861) yang secara substansial melampaui ambang Ftabel (5,14). Sedangkan pada persediaan bahan baku tidak ada pengaruh secara statistik terhadap kualitas produk, sedangkan pada proses produksi adanya hubungan secara korelasional pada kualitas produk.

Abstract

Purpose — The purpose of this study is to evaluate service quality using the RURALQUAL model and examine its relationship with customer satisfaction and customer experience.Method — The research method employed in this study is quantitative research using Structural Equation Modeling, specifically Partial Least Squares (PLS-SEM). The variables investigated include service quality (X) as the independent variable, customer experience (Y) as the intervening variable, and customer satisfaction (Z) as the response variable. The population for this study consists of tourists visiting Wanayasa Rural Tourism in Purwakarta. The sampling method used to select participants is non-probability sampling, specifically the purposive sampling technique. A total of 344 Wanayasa tourists were included as samples in this study.Result — This study discovered that there is a notable impact on customer experience and customer satisfaction when it comes to service quality. Additionally, customer experience can act as a mediator between service quality and customer satisfaction.Novelty — This research applies RURALQUAL model approach to measure service quality in rural tourism in Wanayasa, Purwakarta, Indonesia.

Abstract

Determining the location of the factory is an important element so that the factory continues to develop and operate. The Sumedang Saribumi Karawang tofu factory has problems in the production process, during the continuous rainy season the factory experiences flooding so it has to close production and experiences increased transportation costs due to the distance between the factory and several distributors. relatively high operational cost barriers of IDR 43,650,000 per year. So, when selecting the right location it is necessary to avoid obstacles in the production process. Therefore, it is important to select a location using the Center Of Gravity method. Based on previous research, the Center of Gravity can produce distribution centers based on the location of the location to be addressed and the volume of delivery so as to produce optimal locations and the distribution process can be effective and efficient. This research method uses a quantitative descriptive approach with Center Of Gravity calculations. By conducting observations and interviews and collecting some of the document data needed for the research. The research results show the optimal location of the factory with coordinate points X (–6.418306, 107.388306). namely in the Cimahi, Klari, Karawang Regency areas. The total reduction in distance resulting from this research was reduced by 4 km. By reducing the total distance traveled, transportation costs will also be smaller. The location of the Sumedang Saribumi Karawang tofu factory which has been suggested is at several distributor locations and also the newest location tends to not experience flooding with the location being in an area with a good drainage system that can drain rainwater quickly and efficiently thereby reducing the risk of flooding. So the current location is an advantage that can be utilized by the Sumedang Saribumi Karawang tofu factory because the distribution process is the key to the success of distribution activities.

Abstract

The garment manufacturing industry in Indonesia faces ongoing challenges in maintaining consistent product quality, as seen at Hilton Konveksi, where defect rates often exceed the acceptable 1% tolerance limit. This study aims to identify the root causes of product defects in the production of work trousers and propose structured improvements to enhance quality control. Using the Lean Six Sigma methodology integrated with the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) framework and supported by the Kaizen philosophy, the research provides a systematic and data-driven approach to process optimization. Data were collected through observation, interviews, check sheets, and company documentation. The results show that the average defect rate reached 5.1%, with slanted stitching being the most frequent issue, accounting for 36% of total defects. Root cause analysis using the 5M (Man, Machine, Method, Material, Environment) framework revealed multiple contributing factors, including operator fatigue, lack of SOPs, and inadequate equipment maintenance. Kaizen-based improvement recommendations were implemented, focusing on preventive actions and employee involvement. The calculated sigma level of 3.61 indicates moderate process capability. Overall, the study demonstrates that the integration of Lean Six Sigma and Kaizen can effectively reduce defects, improve product quality, and enhance operational efficiency in garment manufacturing.

Abstract

This study pertains to the enhancement of understanding about the Quality Value Model, particularly concerning the strategic national issue of housing construction for the populace of Indonesia. The literature indicates that quality management science has been addressed in several prior research; nevertheless, it has not yielded complete insights specifically pertaining to the perception of quality, particularly from the perspective of housing users. The Indonesian populace badly requires this strategic housing initiative. Indonesia is presently experiencing a housing ownership dilemma. The elevated demand for housing has prompted the housing sector to expand and intensify competition among developers. This work aims to generate supplementary scientific references through a conceptual Quality Value model, serving as a complete strategy to elucidate current dynamics and foresee new challenges. This study employs a quantitative methodology. This research employs PLS-SEM as the analytical tool. The results of this research consist of a mapping of the Quality Value model. This research has two implications. The initial aspect is scientific, represented by a new reference from the Quality Value model on housing occupant perceptions. The second pertains to a reference or practical strategic consideration for stakeholders of the National Strategic Program: Housing Occupant Perceptions.
