Abstract

The aim of this study is to enhance the young learners to make them interest in reading the books by several methods. These methods may help to increase the self-interest in reading. In globalization era, the development of the teaching and learning of English has been transformed. Nowadays, learners should not only focus on the learning of speaking and writing but also reading due to requirements of education that they should be able to understand and respond to the texts. There are many reasons the young learners have less interesting in reading, for example the development of the information forces the focus of teaching and learning on the critical reading. The most common thing is the students may not know their interest in reading before they start to read the books. Reading interests play a very important role in reading instruction and improvement. Furthermore, the understanding of young learners’ interest and abilities is required to help them in reading. This article entitled Improve Young Learners’ Interest in Reading consists of the great way of method to encourage the young learners to read through the use of wall magazine, the use of flash card, and the use of humor that can applied in strategies of reading aloud, reading the book several times, reading favorite books, and show many picture books.

Abstract

This paper aims at analyzing the types of category shifts of complex noun phrase and identifying the types of loss and gain of information. The data was taken from the biography entitled Oprah as the source language, as well as its Indonesian version that has the same title, Oprah, as the target language. It was analyzed by applying the qualitative descriptive method. The categorization of the complex noun phrase was explained by using the tree diagrams. There are two theories applied in this paper, they are the theory proposed by Catford (1965) to analyze the types of category shifts and the theory proposed by Nida (1975) to describe the types of loss and gain of information found in the translation of Oprah.The result of this analysis in the paper indicates that complex noun phrase in English can be translated into Indonesian in two forms, they are complex noun phrase and non-complex noun phrase. Structure shifts and intra system shifts consist of complex noun phrase in translation. Meanwhile, class shifts and unit shifts consist of non complex noun phrase in the translation. Moreover, the occurence of loss and gain of information can not be avoided in the translation.

Abstract

Pengembangan Media Pembelajaran ini bertujuan untuk merancang Rancangan Sistem Kontrol Refrigerasi Konvensional Secara Otomatis Sistem Pendinginan dan Pencairan Es sehingga dapat membantu proses pembelajaran di kelas XI Teknik Pendinginan. Pengabdian Masyarakat ini termasuk jenis R&D level 3. Pengabdian Masyarakat ini menggunakan angket sebagai instrumen pengumpulan data dari ahli isi, ahli media, dan siswa. Hasil uji coba ahli materi diperoleh nilai persentase sebesar 93,33%, dengan kualifikasi sangat layak, hasil uji coba ahli media diperoleh persentase sebesar 97,64%, dengan kualifikasi sangat layak, hasil uji coba kelompok kecil diperoleh nilai persentase sebesar 90,25%, dengan kualifikasi sangat layak, hasil data uji coba kelompok besar diperoleh persentase sebesar 90,04%, kualifikasi Berdasarkan hasil Pengabdian Masyarakat, media layak dan baik untuk digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran pada mata pelajaran Sistem Refrigerasi dan Instalasi di kelas XI TP jurusan Teknik Elektro, paket keahlian teknik pendingin dan tata udara SMK Negeri 1 Denpasar. Development of Learning Media aims to design a Conventional Automatic Refrigeration Control System Design for Refrigeration and Defrosting Systems so that it can assist the learning process in Class XI Refrigeration Engineering. This Community Service is a type of R&D level 3. This Community Service uses a questionnaire as an instrument to collect data from content experts, media experts, and students. The results of the material expert trial obtained a percentage value of 93.33%, with very decent qualifications, the media expert trial results obtained a percentage of 97.64%, with very decent qualifications, the small group trial results obtained a percentage value of 90.25% , with very decent qualifications, the results of the large group trial data obtained a percentage of 90.04%, qualifications Based on the results of Community Service, the media is feasible and good to be used as a learning medium in the subject of Refrigeration Systems and Installation in class XI TP majoring in Electrical Engineering, package of refrigeration and air conditioning engineering expertise at SMK Negeri 1 Denpasar.

Abstract

Dalam perspektif Hindu, kesenian mempunyai kedudukan yang sangat penting, karena tidak dapat dipisahkan dengan religiusitas masyarakat Hindu. Dapat dikatakan bahwa seni tidak dapat lepas dengan konteks estetika Hindu. Salah satu karya seni sakral yang dapat ditemukan di area rumah adalah arca Ganesha, yang dipercayai sebagai media pemujaan. Umat Hindu meyakini bahwa media pemujaan sangat penting dalam mendekatkan diri kepada Ida Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa. Dalam keyakinan tersebut, media pemujaan tersebut dibungkus dalam satu kesatuan Satyam, Sivam, dan Sundaram. Dalam ajaran agama Hindu yang ditekankan adalah dialektika yang selalu menempatkan kebenaran mengandung kesucian dan keindahan, keindahan harus mengandung kesucian dan kebenaran, dan kesucian harus mengandung kebenaran dan keindahan.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the cultural and spiritual significance of the Abuang dance within the Usaba Kasa ceremony in Tenganan Pegringsingan, highlighting its role in maintaining cultural identity and spiritual continuity. The study utilised qualitative methods, including participant observation, in-depth interviews, and video documentation, to gather primary data concerning the Abuang dance. Secondary sources were employed to enrich the contextual understanding of the dance’s historical and cultural relevance. This research found that the Abuang dance is not merely a form of cultural expression but also serves as an integral component of the religious and communal life in Tenganan Pegringsingan, encapsulating the Hindu aesthetic values of satyam (truth), sivam (chastity), and sundaram (beauty). The dance fosters cultural resilience and acts as a conduit for spiritual and communal values amidst contemporary challenges. The study contributes to the wider discourse on the preservation of cultural heritage, providing insights into how traditional dances can sustain community values and spiritual life in modern contexts. It further highlights the importance of integrating cultural practices into global discussions on cultural and spiritual sustainability.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji simbolisme yang terkandung dalam karakter Srikandi Mahabharata, menerangi makna yang lebih dalam dan interpretasi alegoris. Tujuan studi ini adalah untuk menjelaskan makna simbolis dari karakteristik, perbuatan, dan hubungan Srikandi dalam cerita epik tersebut untuk memberikan pencerahan pada dimensi tematik dan filosofis Mahabharata yang lebih besar. Studi literatur yang digunakan dalam pendekatan pengumpulan data proyek ini berfokus pada peran Srikandi dalam simbolisme dan analisis karakter Mahabharata. Hasil penelitian ini adalah bahwa Srikandi, tokoh dari Mahabharata, mewakili keuletan perempuan. Dia menunjukkan keberanian, keuletan, dan kemampuan yang tak tergoyahkan untuk melewati batasan sosial sepanjang epik. Interaksi Mahabharata dengan tokoh lain semakin menonjolkan ketabahan Srikandi. Dia mengganggu peran tradisional yang diharapkan dimainkan oleh perempuan dengan menentang struktur patriarki dan mempromosikan kesetaraan gender. Keberadaannya dalam epik berfungsi sebagai metafora untuk ketabahan dan tekad yang dibutuhkan untuk memberontak terhadap norma sosial.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to interpret and describe the prefix type from Barack Obama's Instagram caption. It is because Barack Obama have good personal in the public, such as he is win the Nobel Peace Prize and third to win a Nobel Prize while in office. The name Barack means "one who is blessed" in Swahili. Barack Obama is the first African-American to be president of the Harvard Law Review. In English Morphology, there is Prefix and Suffix. But, in this study only discuss about prefix that was used by Barack Obama in Instagram Caption. Prefix in morphology is one of affixes, generally prefix is indicated as inflectional morphemes. The writer uses descriptive qualitative method to analyze the types of the prefix by using theory from Lieber (2009). The data found was analyzed by using tree diagram. Based on the analysis the writer found some prefix, such as: re-, un-, in-, dis-, and auto-.
