Abstract

This study aims to describe the activities and develop students' scientific performance using project-based worksheets on vinegar fermentation from watermelon rind waste. The subjects were 20 students from the Youth Scientific Group (KIR) at Jatinangor State Senior High School. This study was a pre-experimental study with a one-shot case study design. The study was conducted based on the importance of scientific performance skills for students, as it trains them to think critically, logically, and systematically in solving problems, preparing them to face the demands of 21st-century skills. Through scientific processes such as observation, practicum, and data analysis, students gain a deeper understanding of concepts and foster curiosity and creativity. The results showed that the average student worksheet score was categorized as very good (82), the average student activity score was categorized as very good (91.6), and the student scientific performance assessment reached 91.8, categorized as very good. These findings indicate that the application of project-based worksheets to make vinegar from watermelon rind waste successfully developed students' scientific activity and performance.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the appearance, analysis of the results of the validation test and the analysis of the results of the feasibility test of e-magazine environmental literacy oriented on the topic household waste. This study uses the DBR (Design Based Research) method through the preliminary stages (analysis and deepening of the material), design (initial product manufacture), and development (validation test and feasibility test product). The resulting product is an e-magazine environmental literacy oriented on household waste material entitled "Household Waste Management". The validation test was carried out by three validators consisting of material expert lecturers and media experts. The average value of rcount of the validation test results for material, language and media display aspects is 0.87; 0.78; 0.89 which indicates that the e-magazine made is valid. Furthermore, a feasibility test was carried out on 20 students consisting of 10 students of chemistry education who were taking courses in waste management and treatment and 10 students outside of chemistry education who were randomly selected. The average value of the feasibility test results from the aspect of material, language and media display respectively is 97.00%, 97.50%; 95.00%. This shows that the emagzine environmental literacy oriented on the topic household waste that is made is declared very feasible to be used as a learning medium.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the appearance, validation test results, and feasibility test results of an e-magazine oriented toward chemical literacy on colloidal materials. This media is expected to enhance students' literacy in colloidal materials. The research method used is Design-Based Research (DBR) with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The study consists of two main stages: the product development stage, which includes analysis and design, and the product testing stage, which includes validation and feasibility tests. The resulting product is an e-magazine designed to promote chemical literacy on colloidal materials. The validation test was conducted by three experts—lecturers and teachers specializing in materials and media. The average r-calculated values for material, language, and media display aspects were 0.93, 0.97, and 0.98, respectively, indicating that the e-magazine is valid. Subsequently, the product underwent a feasibility test with 15 students who had previously studied colloidal materials. The average feasibility test scores for material, language, and media appearance were 93%, 82%, and 95%, respectively. Based on these results, the e-magazine is deemed suitable as a learning medium.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the appearancepsyofments game, analyzing the results of validation tests, and the results of feasibility tests frompsyofments gameoriented towards high-level thinking skills on the material of the periodic system of elements. The research method used isDesign based research (DBR) with the ADDIE approach model which consists of three stages, namely analysis, design, and development. Game psyofmentsthis is an applicationgamesAndroid-based containing questions on the periodic system of elements with different levels of difficulty at each level and oriented towards HOTS questions. The results of the study show that the displaypsyofments gameconsists of a menu selection display, a self-identity column display, a displaystart game, game level display, displayrewardmaterial, and the final score display. The results of the validation test from the validator obtained an average r valuecountfrom all aspects of 0.863 which shows thatpsyofments game This is valid as a learning media in the material of the periodic system of elements. After the media was improved based on the suggestions of the validator, a feasibility test was carried out on 11 students who had studied the material of the periodic system of elements. The results of the feasibility test obtained an average percentage of 90% from all aspects so that it can be concluded thatpsyofments gameoriented towards high-level thinking skills on the material of the periodic system of elements, it is very suitable for use as a learning medium.

Abstract

The research aims to determine the effect of learning style on students’ performance through online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. The subjects of study are 269 chemistry education students at three universities in Indonesia. The data collection of learning style uses a Likert scale questionnaire, and learning performance is obtained from students’ grade point average. In this research, students’ learning style was divided into visual, auditorial, and kinesthetic. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics with linear regression and ANOVA tests. The learning styles positively affect student learning performance by 4.7%, while 95.3% of other factors are not examined in this study. The learning performance of students with auditory is higher than visual and kinesthetic learning styles. Based on the inferential analysis, there is no significant difference in student learning performance based on student learning styles. Therefore, students with different learning styles have the same learning performance in online learning.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the learning process and analyze the development of students' scientific performance through the application of project-based worksheets in making hand cream from black rice kefir (Oryza sativa L.indica), as well as analyzing the characteristics of the hand cream products produced. The research was conducted at SMK MVP ARS International Bandung in class XI Pharmacy. The research approach used was quantitative with pre-experimental method and one shot case study design. The results showed that students' activities in the learning process reached a score of 93 and scientific performance obtained an average score of 89, both in the very good category. Product characterization showed that all formulations of hand cream from black rice kefir (Oryza sativa L.indica) met SNI standards with excellent quality based on pH, organoleptic, irritation, homogeneity, spreadability, and emulsion type parameters, and obtained a product assessment with an average score of 96. The LC50 value obtained from the antioxidant test results was 90.5500 (Strong). These findings indicate that the application of project-based worksheets is effective in developing students' scientific performance while producing quality products.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the application of science process skills-based worksheets in the project of making larvicides from areca nut extract on the cognitive and psychomotor aspects of students, as well as to determine the effectiveness of areca nut extract as a larvicide. This research raised the issue of using synthetic larvicides as learning facilitated by science process skills-based worksheets. The larvicide was divided into six concentration variations. This study used a pre-experiment method with a one-shot study case design involving one experimental class, without a pretest or control class. The subjects used in this study were 36 10th grade students of MAN 2 Bandung City. Data collection used instruments in the form of science process skills-based worksheets, observation sheets, performance assessment sheets, and presentation assessment sheets. Data analysis of science process skills was done with a Likert scale assessment. The cognitive aspect of the science process skills worksheet obtained an average score of 82, with a very good interpretation, while the psychomotor aspect of students was 83, which showed a very good interpretation. It can be concluded that the use of science process skills-based worksheets can help in cognitive skills and psychomotor skills. In the larvicide making project, effective results were obtained at a concentration of 9 mL with a percentage of mosquito larvae death of 100%.
