Abstract

Kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa masih rendah. Guru belum mampu melatih siswa untuk bernalar secara matematis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji perbedaan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa antara yang diajar dengan pendekatan metakognitif dan yang diajar dengan pendekatan konvensional. Penelitian eksperimen ini menggunakan posttest-only design pada dua kelas VIII SMAN 8 Konawe Selatan yang berkemampuan awal matematika sama. Data diperoleh melalui tes dan lembar observasi. Analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif dan analisis inferensial pada a = 0.05. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa yang diajar dengan pendekatan metakognitif lebih mampu menyelesaikan soal-soal penalaran matematis dibandingkan dengan siswa yang diajar dengan pendekatan konvensional. Melalui pembelajaran dengan pendekatan metakognitif siswa dapat bernalar secara tepat, mempersiapkan dan merencanakan belajar, memilih dan menggunakan berbagai strategi belajar, memonitoring penggunaan strategi, dan mengevaluasi belajar diri sendiri.

Abstract

The success of student education cannot be separated from the schools, teachers, students and parents. Parents play an important role because they are the first and primary educators of their children. This study aims to assess the impact of parents’ support in helping their children to do their homework and parents' reading habits on mathematics and science scores in TIMSS 2015. By using quantitative descriptive and inferential methods, the analysis shows that parents who spend more time helping and checking their children homework, have children who achieve higher scores on mathematics and science. If they read more than 10 hours in 1 week, their kids scores on TIMSS 2015 significantly. Only 6,4% of parents whose reading habits more than 10 hours in 1 week.

Abstract

Tujuan utama studi ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat perbedaan rata-rata skor kemampuan siswa SMA IPA dan IPS dalam menjawab soal HOTS mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia hasil UN 2017? Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa SMA yang sedang belajar pada tahun 2016, sedangkan sampelnya adalah siswa SMA kelas 12 yang mengikuti UN 2017. Berdasarkan hasil analisis t-tes dengan program SPSS dan Mplus diperoleh hasil seperti berikut. Pertama, berdasarkan nilai rata-rata nasional menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan siswa SMA IPA dalam menjawab soal HOTS adalah lebih tinggi (mean 68,18, standar deviasi 11,66) daripada kemampuan siswa SMA IPS (mean = 55, 68 standar deviasi 12,69). Nilai ini berdasarkan klasifikasi hasil ujian nasional masih tergolong cukup dan kurang. Kedua, perbedaan kemampuan siswa SMA IPA dan IPS terhadap kemampuan “menjawab soal HOTS mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia” adalah terbukti. Artinya terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan kemampuan siswa SMA IPA dan IPS terhadap kemampuan “menjawab soal HOTS” (P-value= 0,00). Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan kemampuan siswa IPA dan IPS dalam menjawab soal HOTS mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia hasil UN 2017. Kemampuan siswa IPA dan IPS dalam menjawab soal HOTS adalah cukup dan kurang.

Abstract

The main purpose of this study is to answer the following question Is there any influences of students' habits in answering the essay questions toward the results of the 2018 SMP National Exam (UN)? The population of this study was SMP students who participated in the 2018 UN. The data in this study is provide in the form of test scores and student answers on questionnaires taken from 34 provinces throughout Indonesia. The questionnaire was filled in voluntarily on the last day of the UN, so the number of respondents who filled out the questionnaire was 3.224.331 students from 37.859 junior high schools. These respondents is a sample in this study. Based on the results of the T-test analysis, the following results were obtained. The effect of students' habits in answering the essay questions on 2018 UN results is proven. This means that there is a significant difference (P <0,000) between students who are used to and are not used to answer essay questions on the results of the 2018 National Examination. The conclusion is that there is a significant difference between the students who are used to and not used to answer essay questions toward the results of the National Examination 2018 for subjects: Indonesian, English, Mathematics, and Natural Sciences, (Sig. 0,000).

Abstract

Tujuan utama studi ini adalah menjawab pertanyaan berikut. Apakah terdapat pengaruh pendidikan orang tua siswa terhadap hasil ujian nasional (UN) SMP 2018? Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa SMP yang sedang belajar pada tahun 2018, sedangkan sampelnya adalah siswa SMP kelas 9. Alasan pemilihan sampel adalah siswa yang sedang mengikuti UN tahun 2018. Data dalam penelitian ini berbentuk skor tes dan kuesioner yang dijawab siswa SMP di 34 provinsi di seluruh Indonesia, yaitu 3224331 siswa dari 37859 SMP. Berdasarkan hasil analisis varian satu jalur diperoleh hasil seperti berikut. Berdasarkan nilai rata-rata nasional, pendidikan orang tua siswa SMP peserta UN 2018 berpengaruh terhadap hasil UN 2018 adalah terbukti. Artinya terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan (P<0,000) terhadap hasil UN 2018 untuk mata pelajaran: Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Inggris, Matematika, dan IPA, baik pada pendidikan ayah, pendidikan ibu, maupun keduanya secara bersama-sama (Sig. 0,000). latar belakang pendidikan ayah lebih dominan pada mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia dan Matematika (loding faktornya 0,467 dan -0,218) daripada latar belakang pendidikan ibu (loding faktornya 1,261 dan 0,195. Latar belakang pendidikan ibu lebih dominan pada mata pelajaran Bahasa Inggris dan IPA (loding faktornya 0,244 dan -0,054) daripada latar belakang pendidikan ayah. Kesimpulannya adalah bahwa pendidikan orang tua siswa SMP sangat berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap hasil UN 2018.

Abstract

Most existing studies on Islamic historiography are dominated by the study of the classical-formative period (7th-9th Centuries AD). In contrast, the works in the later/post-classical period still need to be studied so that it becomes an important issue to be addressed. This paper seeks to review the existing scholarship on Islamic historiography in the context of the post-classical period (9th century onwards). This research addresses the discourse developed in studying Islamic historiography during this period by examining the historiographical characteristics and historical context. The findings in this article are based on library research that examines existing studies on Islamic historiography in Western scholarship with intellectual history as the theoretical framework for analyzing the data. The results of this study show that the existing studies, since H.A.R. Gibb, Franz Rosenthal, to Tarif Khalidi, have successfully established the classical period of Islamic historiography. In contrast, the study on “the later period” still needs attention. Chase F. Robinson is the most recent scholar who began paying attention to this period. His initial investigations showed the specific characteristics of this period: the distancing from traditionalist culture, the elimination of the use of isnad in writing history, the three main formats in historical writing (chronography, biography, and prosopography), and the emergence of a critical historical school that made history an independent official discipline. This article will conclude, in the end, with a reflection on some of the remaining lacunas in this area of research, along with a brief note on the Indonesian context, both as part of the analytical category in the study and concerning the analysis of Islamic history in that country.    Keywords: Islamic Historiography, Western Scholarship, The Post-Classical PeriodMayoritas kajian dalam historiografi Islam yang ada didominasi oleh telaah di masa klasik-formatif (7th-9th Centuries AD) dan khazanah setelahnya mayoritas masih belum dikaji, sehingga menjadi isu yang penting untuk diperhatikan. Tulisan ini berupaya untuk mereviu perkembangan kesarjanaan historiografi Islam di Barat dalam konteks pasca klasik (Abad ke-9 dan seterusnya). Temuan dalam artikel ini didasarkan kepada penelitian kepustakaan yang menelaah kajian-kajian yang ada tentang historiografi Islam di kesarjanaan barat dengan lensa sejarah intelektual sebagia acuan analisis data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kajian yang ada saat ini, sejak H.A.R. Gibb, Franz Rosenthal, hingga Tarif Khalidi, telah berhasil memetakan periode klasik historiografi Islam. Adapun kajian terhadap period berikutnya masih perlu mendapatkan perhatian. Chase F. Robinson adalah sarjana terkini yang mulai melakukan telaah atas periode tersebut. studi awal yang ia lakukan menunjukkan adanya karakteristik khusus di periode ini;  penarikan jarak dari kultur tradisionalis, eliminasi penggunaan isnād dalam menulis sejarah, tiga format utama dalam tulisan sejarah (kronografi, biografi, dan prosopografi) serta munculnya aliran sejarah kritis yang menjadikan sejarah sebagai disiplin resmi yang independen. Artikel ini akan diakhiri dengan refleksi terkait beberapa lacunas yang masih tersisa dalam area riset ini, berikut catatan singkat terkait konteks Indonesia, baik sebagai kategori analitis dalam kerja riset dan catatan atas fenomena riset sejarah Islam di negara ini.      Kata kunci: Historiografi Islam, Kesarjanaan Barat, Periode Pasca Klasik

Abstract

This article aims at re-presenting the Islamisation of the Malay-Indonesian archipelago from the 13th to 19th century, focusing on the narrative of intellectualism and activism conducted inter-relatedly during the very act of religious proselytization. The background of this research arises from the need to understand the complexity of Islamisation in the archipelago, on the one hand, and the negligence of such narrative in the historiography of islamization, on the other. Taking this as the basis of narrative, this article will re-explain the major phases in the Islamization of the archipelago by paying attention both to the political variable and, particularly, the intellectual-historical aspects. This paper uses the historical-descriptive method by collecting and analyzing relevant historical materials. The selected data will be re-narrated within the framework of intellectualism and activism in the Islamization process. This research also uses the comparative method to compare the phases of Islamization in various regions of the archipelago, thus providing a more complete picture of the dynamics that occurred in the 13th to 19th centuries. The expected purpose is to go beyond the political-historical perspective that currently dominates the historiography of Islamization and marginalizes the proselytizing aspect which is an intertwining of intellectualism and activism in that process.

Abstract

In a crime problem, there will be many processes that will be faced by both law enforcement and the parties involved in the crime, one of the processes that really requires a very large level of energy is the inspection process. In this examination process there will be many stages that must be passed from examining case files, examining witnesses, expert witnesses, defendants to supporting documents as evidence of the crime which will eventually end in a judge's decision and how legal remedies are taken by the parties. -the parties involved where in this legal effort there will be many stages that will be passed to get justice from the start of appeal, cassation, clemency to the last is review and ends with the implementation of the judge's decision which has been determined whether the original decision or the decision after filing a legal remedy the. This study uses a research method with descriptive analysis by conducting data analysis by conducting interviews with related parties. The purpose of this research is for readers to understand more about the stages of examining criminal cases and how to deal with them.

Abstract

Historiography of Islam has often reflected the efforts to construct history distorted by political elements of power and the subjective interests of historians, hindering the presentation of the true historical facts. One of the pressing issues is how the use of the Arabic language in historical texts influences the understanding of Islamic historiography. This research aims to detail and analyze the characteristics of Islamic historiography during the medieval period, especially in the context of the Mamluk Dynasty, with a focus on the role of the Arabic language. The research methodology involves a literature review, examining various previous studies on Islamic historiography. The results of data analysis reveal characteristics of encyclopedic scholarship, the pivotal role of the Arabic language as the primary means of communication in constructing historical narratives, and the presence of creativity and originality in historical writings. Thus, this research makes a significant contribution to the development of theoretical frameworks for understanding the history of medieval Islam during the Mamluk period. This study is essential for delving into Islamic historiography of the past, especially in the context of the use of the Arabic language, to gain a deeper understanding of how Islamic history was recorded and conveyed during the Mamluk Dynasty. With this understanding, we can grasp the political, cultural, and social nuances that shaped the Islamic historical narrative during this period, while highlighting the crucial role of the Arabic language in this process.

Abstract

Muslims recognize the right to "existence" (not "truth") of other religions based on the principles of religious freedom and a tolerant attitude towards other religious communities. Discussions about religious tolerance are an interesting object of study. This is because apart from the operational details in the Qur'an and hadith, this attitude was practiced directly by the Prophet Muhammad during his lifetime. On this basis, this article attempts to analyze the attitude of social religious tolerance during the time of the Prophet Muhammad SAW and is related to religious tolerance in Indonesia. This study is descriptive qualitative literature research using a historical and sociological approach to religion, while the analysis used is content analysis and comparative methods. The results of this study show that the principles of social and religious tolerance practiced by the Prophet Muhammad SAW in the city of Medina have implications and shared values in terms of the diversity of Indonesian society. Religious social tolerance can be used as an alternative model in developing a pluralistic society in Indonesia.
