Abstract

Background: More than 10% of adults in Indonesia experience mental and emotional disorders. Previous research has concluded that mental health is related to a person's physical literacy. Objectives: This study explores the relationship between physical literacy and mental health among adults in Semarang City, Indonesia, emphasizing the mediating role of various physical literacy domains. Methods: This observational study used a cross-sectional design with 610 participants chosen by stratified selection. Physical literacy and mental health were evaluated using the Perceived Physical Literacy Questionnaire (PPLQ) and the Self-Reporting Questionnaire (SRQ-20), respectively. All data acquired during interviews with trained enumerators were then processed using Stata. The data was then evaluated with the Spearman Rank test. Results: The study included more women than men. They were largely high school and college students who weren't yet married. The respondents' physical literacy remained moderate, while their mental health remained good/free of unhealthy mental issues. Bivariate analysis revealed that higher levels of physical literacy were linked to better mental health outcomes, particularly in the categories of physical ability, knowledge, and motivation. Age and education levels also have a substantial impact on mental health. Conclusions: Physical literacy has a substantial impact on mental health among adults in Semarang City.

Abstract

Abstract

In the digital era, physical activity tracking applications have become increasingly popular as tools to monitor body health and encourage healthy habits. However, the accuracy of distance measurements used by many of these applications still faces challenges, especially in environments with GPS signal interference. This research aims to develop a system that integrates GPS technology and accelerometer sensors to improve the accuracy of distance measurements in physical activity tracking applications. The developed system was tested through a prototype to evaluate the effectiveness of combining these two technologies in improving measurement results. Additionally, this research also designs a database system for efficient physical activity data management, enabling real-time monitoring. To enhance user motivation, a reward point system was applied as a gamification element to encourage further engagement in physical activities. The results of this research show that the combined use of GPS and accelerometers was able to improve measurement accuracy, with errors ranging from 2.4% to 4.2%, depending on the type of activity performed. Walking activities demonstrated higher accuracy compared to running. The reward point system was also proven to be effective in motivating users to be more active. This research provides an important contribution to the development of more accurate, efficient health applications that can improve both physical and mental well-being

Abstract

RSD K.R.M.T. Wongsonegoro has implemented a Hospital Management Information System (SIMRS) named SIWONGSO. Survey results indicate that patient blood type and ID number fields are often left unfilled in the system. Incomplete patient data may disrupt the filing process. The objective of this study was to evaluate the Hospital Management Information System at the Outpatient Registration of RSD K.R.M.T. Wongsonegoro using the HOT-FIT method. This research is descriptive and quantitative, with data collection through the HOT-FIT questionnaire. The study subjects were six outpatient registration officers at RSD K.R.M.T. Wongsonegoro, and the object of observation was the SIMRS display, technology, users, and organization within the Outpatient Registration section. The results showed that the outpatient registration data in SIMRS were generally complete. However, the layout size was insufficient, leading to an increased risk of data entry errors, and some patient ID numbers were incomplete. The technology component scored 4.26, indicating good performance; the human component scored 4.29, also rated as good; and the organizational component scored 4.16, which is also considered good. It is recommended that the hospital regularly evaluate the SIMRS implementation and provide training for the staff to improve their performance.

Abstract

The use of telemedicine in Indonesia has increased rapidly with the COVID-19 pandemic. To date, there are 300,000 users. The obstacle to implementing telemedicine for small medical facilities is that telemedicine is too expensive because it requires a lot of money to build and maintain it. The purpose of this study is to describe the readiness of health workers related to the use of telemedicine as a medium to support the quality of health services at Bhakti Wira Tamtama Hospital. This study was conducted from May to June 2024. The research method used was descriptive quantitative. This study measures the readiness of health workers according to the TRI (Technology Readiness Index) method. The subjects of this study were 23 respondents selected by accidental sampling. The results showed that most respondents' optimism towards telemedicine was good (87%). However, most respondents also felt uncomfortable with the use of telemedicine (73.9%) and felt unsafe using telemedicine (87%). Hospitals should provide more in-depth training on telemedicine technology and platforms for healthcare workers.
