Abstract

Simulasi penggunaan protokol routing di jaringan Telkomsel merupakan langkah krusial dalam perancangan dan pengembangan jaringan yang andal dan siap menghadapi berbagai kemungkinan masalah dimasa ini ataupun akan datang. Perkembangan komunikasi sangatlah penting, terutama pada zaman teknologi modern saat ini. Layanan internet telah menjadi sarana pertukaran informasi bagi setiap orang. Secara umum, OSPF (Open Short Path First) adalah protokol yang paling banyak digunakan OSPF merupakan protokol routing yang didesain otomatis untuk dapat mengendalikan dan mendistribusikan informasi routing antar jaringan secara dinamis. OSPF dapat mendeteksi perubahan topologi jaringan dengan cepat dan mengembalikan routing ke konvergensi dalam waktu singkat. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan simulasi topologi jaringan Telkom dengan protokol routing OSPF menggunakan Cisco Packet Tracer. Packet Tracer digunakan untuk mensimulasikan desain jaringan dan mengidentifikasi perilaku jaringan menggunakan metode routing OSPF. Sebelum simulasi dilakukan, perancangan topologi jaringan dilakukan melalui 8 tahapan. Kemudian pada konfigurasi routing OSPF, Ada lima jenis paket yang digunakan, untuk mengetahui Paket Hello, Deskripsi Basis Data, Permintaan Status Tautan, Pembaruan Status Tautan, dan Konfirmasi Status Tautan. Dari hasil simulasi dengan topologi tree didapatkan bahwa topologi tree pada jaringan Telkom tetap dapat bekerja dengan mengalihkan ke jalur alternatif dengan waktu respon antara 5-31 ms. Meskipun satu komputer terputus, komputer lainnya tidak terpengaruh. Hal ini sejalan dengan teori topologi tree. Simulating the use of routing protocols on Telkomsel's network is a crucial step in designing and developing a reliable network that is ready to face various possible problems in the present or in the future. The development of communication is very important, especially in today's modern technological age. Internet services have become a means of exchanging information for everyone. In general, OSPF (Open Short Path First) is the most widely used protocol OSPF is a routing protocol designed automatically to be able to control and distribute routing information between networks dynamically. OSPF can detect network topology changes quickly and return routing to convergence in no time. In this study, Telkom network topology simulation was carried out with OSPF routing protocol using Cisco Packet Tracer. Packet Tracer is used to simulate network design and identify network behavior using OSPF routing methods. Before the simulation is carried out, network topology design is carried out through 8 stages. Then in the OSPF routing configuration, there are five types of packets used, to find out Hello Packet, Database Description, Link Status Request, Link Status Update, and Link Status Confirmation. From the results of the simulation with the tree topology, it was found that the tree topology on the Telkom network can still work by switching to an alternative path with a response time between 5-31 ms. Even if one computer disconnects, the other computers are not affected. This is in line with tree topology theory.

Abstract

New voters play an important role in the election because as many as 35-40% of all voters are new voters. In this way, the number of first-time voters is very large, so that citizens' rights to exercise their right to vote should not be insignificant as a result of unexpected mistakes, for example, do not let them already have the right to vote and not be able to exercise their right to vote because they are not registered or there are still many errors in exercise their right to vote, etc.Dian Andalas Private High School is located in Komp. Unand Ulu Gadut. There are 70 students from Dian Andalas Private High School who are in the category of beginner voters in the 2024 elections. There are still many students who do not understand the importance of voting rights in general elections and do not know the procedures for granting voting rights at polling stations.The aim to be achieved from this service activity is to provide insight and improve skills for Dian Andalas Private High School students in their participation in the upcoming 2024 elections.The output target that will be achieved is the students of the Dian Andalas Private High School, by carrying out this activity, it is hoped that the students of the Dian Andalas Private High School, Padang, will participate in the general election and know the procedures for voting in the general election.

Abstract

This research focuses on the design and implementation of a rainfall monitoring system for chili pepper farms using Internet of Things (IoT) technology. The rainfall monitoring system consists of a transmitter system, a receiver system, the Thingspeak platform as a database, and a weather station application that can be accessed via a mobile device. The weather station application is built using the MIT App Inventor platform. In the testing phase, the system successfully collected data from two sensors used, namely the rainfall intensity sensor and the raindrop sensor. The test results showed that the data obtained from the rainfall intensity sensor was 0.25 inches and the raindrop sensor was 1. This result shows that there was no rain during the test. This rain intensity and raindrop data can provide farmers with an overview of the weather conditions in the chili pepper farm. So, with this rainfall monitoring system, farmers can monitor the condition of their agricultural land in real-time. The collected data can help farmers to care for chili pepper plants more effectively and adapt to environmental changes. In addition, this system is expected to increase the productivity of chili pepper farming because it uses a more precise and responsive approach to changes in environmental conditions on the chili pepper farm.

Abstract

Technology in the telecommunications sector continues to develop. One of them is the Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) antenna used in WIFI access oint application using MIMO technique in enhancement the need to transfer large amounts of data. In the design and manufacture of MIMO antennas for WIFI access applications point with dimensions of 110 mm x 112 mm using FR-4 substrate specifications with a thickness of 1.6 mm. The antenna consists of four ports and is at each corner The groundplane has four slots to achieve good isolation and produces good bandwidth. The antenna simulation produces a bandwidth of 1.0516 GHz with frequency 2.4 GHz, return loss -12.78 dB, isolation -16.08 dB, and VSWR 1.53 dB. Meanwhile, manufactured antennas produce a bandwidth of more than 100 MHz with frequency 2.4 GHz, return loss -13.5 dB, isolation -18.8 dB, and VSWR 1.29 dB. Antenna simulation using the CST Studio Suite 2019 software application. In the application of the antenna used for Wi-Fi as a transmitter By comparing distances, different results are obtained where the power value is Each distance is different because the farther the distance, the greater the power value produced or emitted will be smaller or less optimal  network.

Abstract

The need for internet connection is very important because everything is connected to each other with the internet, but due to limitations on access points, many areas are still experiencing difficulties in accessing the internet, one of which is the suburban area. Suburban areas that are indicated to be still difficult to reach due to obstacles from buildings, and the influence of weather. In order for the signal to be reached in this area, an 11-element yagi antenna with a working frequency of 1800 MHz is needed which is expected to produce a high gain so that the antenna beam is maximised. This final project aims to design an 11-element Yagi antenna at a working frequency of 1800 MHz, and analyse antenna parameters such as return loss, VSWR, bandwidth, gain, and polaradiation. Where the design of the yagi antenna uses CST Studio Suite 2019 software. After the simulation results are as desired, then fabrication or manufacture of the antenna is carried out. The simulation results after optimising are -26.00 dB, VSWR 1.10, and gain 12.32 dB. After the simulation is carried out, the next fabrication or manufacture of the 11-element Yagi antenna, the measurement obtains a return loss value of -11.29 dB, and VSWR 1.74, although the measurement results are far from the simulation but the results of this measurement have met the requirements of the antenna specifications.

Abstract

Fading is a phenomenon of decreasing signal strength during transmission, caused by changes in environmental conditions or physical obstacles in the propagation path. Fading can cause interference in signal reception, such as distortion or loss of information, especially in Non-Line of Sight (NLoS) paths, where signals must pass through many paths or obstacles such as buildings, trees, or other objects. To eliminate fading interference, a cooperative communication system is created to reduce the effects of fading in wireless networks. The cooperative communication system works by utilizing other nodes in sending signals to the destination. The relay protocol used in this study is amplify and forward, where the signal to be sent will be amplified and forwarded to the destination by the relay node. A network coding scheme is added to the cooperative communication system to improve network performance. This scheme encodes each piece of information with the XOR technique. The parameters used in measuring the network coding scheme in the cooperative communication system are BER and throughput. Viewed from the BER value, the conventional cooperative communication system has better performance compared to the cooperative communication system with network coding. Cooperative communication system scheme without NC BER value is 0 when the transmit power value is -19 dBm or Gain 32. While for the cooperative communication system scheme with network coding BER value is 0 when transmit power of -9.25 dBm. Throughput system with network coding has increased by 17% compared to the conventional system.

Abstract

The present study aims to identify and analyze idiomatic expressions in the lyrics of “Do I Wanna Know?” by Arctic Monkeys. Idioms are non-literal expressions that often cause difficulty for English learners due to their figurative nature. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach with a focus on semantic and contextual analysis based on the theories of Palmer (2007), Larson (2010), and Halliday (2014). The results indicate that the song contains several idiomatic expressions that reflect emotional states such as longing, regret, and insecurity. These findings suggest that song lyrics can serve as effective, authentic, and engaging media for learning idioms in EFL contexts. The study also highlights the pedagogical and cultural implications of using popular songs as teaching materials.

Abstract

The lack focus on brand positioning and brand identity in Indonesia, especially in creative industries based on local uniqueness, reflects a lack of development and competitiveness. This research critically evaluates the sustainable development of Padang City city branding with a focus on the role of leaders as boundary spanners in maintaining the sustainability of city branding and building brand awareness. Although required to create uniqueness, Padang City Branding is still influenced by the previous city branding development discourse, causing a lack of specifications and similarities with other cities in West Sumatra. Although the majority of the population is Muslim, the concept of halal tourism has not been created well. This study aims to understand the role of leaders in each institution as boundary spanners in maintaining the sustainability of city branding. As boundary spanners, leaders in each institution are considered central in maintaining the existence of city branding and building efficient policy networks. Observation-participating research methods using the Internet assist researchers in interacting with boundary spanners and understanding culture from the perspectives of its members. This research yields in-depth insights into the leader's key role as a boundary spanner in the context of Padang City city branding.

Abstract

SMK Semen Padang adalah sekolah di bawah yayasan PT. Semen Padang dan merupakan sekolah kejuruan yang menghasilkan anak didik yang sesuai dengan standar industri. Kurikulum SMK Semen Padang sudah menyesuaikan dengan kebutuhan industri. Siswa-siswi SMK Semen Padang sudah ditahap mengetahui pengaplikasian IoT (Internet of Thing). Namun tingkat pengetahuan dan pemahaman tentang pembuatan aplikasi android untuk smart system belum pernah dicoba dan belum ada diberikan dalam kurikulum di sekolah. Hal ini menjadi permasalahan bagi mitra karena SMK Semen Padang mempunyai keinginan untuk dapat terlibat dalam kegiatan tahun nasional tingkat SMK, yaitu Lomba Krestifitas Mahasiswa. Penjelasan ini merupakan permasalahan utama yang ingin diselesaikan oleh pihak sekolah. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan dampak pada pengembangan mata pelajaran bidang TIK khususnya pada materi aplikasi teknologi android dan mendukung siswa untuk memiliki kreatifitas dan inovasi-inovasi sehingga nantinya dapat mengambil peran ikut dalam ajang nasional. Metode yang dipakai pada kegiatan ini yaitu diskusi, ceramah, bimbingan dan pelatihan. Tahap pertama tim PkM memberikan diskusi dan ceramah mengenai aplikasi android pada smart system, selanjutnya tim melakukan bimbingan dan pelatihan pembuatan aplikasi android yaitu Wokwi, ThingSpeak, dan MIT App Inventor. Kegiatan PkM yang sudah dilakukan adalah ceramah materi, bimbingan teknis, pelatihan aplikasi Andorid, implementasi sistem pada smartphone serta penyerahan produk pada pihak mitra. Berdasarkan hasil kuisioner kegiatan PkM pada SMK Semen Padang berjalan dan sesuai dengan target yang di inginkan.

Abstract

Hypertension in adolescents is an emerging public health concern, with its prevalence in Indonesia increasing from 3.11%–4.6% in 2005 to 8.3% in 2008, and it is predicted to continue rising annually. Adolescent hypertension often goes undetected, leading to severe health complications in adulthood if left uncontrolled and untreated. Several lifestyle factors, including physical activity, stress levels, and sleep duration, have been identified as potential contributors to the incidence of hypertension in adolescents. This study aims to analyze the relationship between physical activity, stress, and sleep duration with the incidence of hypertension among high school students in Palembang City.This research adopts an analytical cross-sectional study design, with a total sample of 467 high school students selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data were analyzed using the Chi-Square statistical test to determine associations between variables. The results indicate a significant relationship between physical activity and hypertension (p = 0.008), as well as between stress and hypertension (p = 0.005). However, no significant relationship was found between sleep duration and hypertension (p = 0.054) These findings suggest that low physical activity and high-stress levels contribute to hypertension in adolescents, emphasizing the need for preventive strategies such as promoting regular physical exercise and stress management programs in schools. Future research should explore longitudinal studies to assess the long-term effects of adolescent hypertension, intervention-based research to determine the effectiveness of physical activity programs, and the potential role of sleep quality rather than duration in blood pressure regulation. This study highlights the importance of early lifestyle modifications to prevent hypertension-related complications in adulthood.
