Abstract

Pembelajaran matematika bersifat abstrak maka guru matematika harus memiliki keterampilan dalam mendesain dan melakukan pembelajaran yang berkualitas atau lebih dikenal dengan kompetensi profesional. Faktanya kompetensi profesional sejatinya mulai dimiliki calon guru sejak masih menjadi mahasiswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan profil kompetensi profesional mahasiswa tadris matematika sebagai calon guru. Adapun penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan instrumen lembar observasi kompetensi profesional dan pedoman wawancara mahasiswa, pihak sekolah, alumni, dan pihak prodi. Adapun yang diperoleh dari profil kompetensi profesional mahasiswa prodi tadris matematika sebagai calon guru ini meliputi kompetensi yang diajarkan mahasiswa praktikan dalam proses pembelajaran di kelas adalah mata pelajaran matematika, artinya ini sudah sesuai bidang. Kemudian dalam perencanaan pembelajaran, mahasiswa praktikan secara mandiri telah memanfaatkan internet atau sumber belajar lainnya untuk mencari materi dan media yang tepat. Selanjutnya terkait dengan evaluasi yang dilakukan mahasiswa praktikan yaitu mahasiswa praktikan belum profesional dalam memberikan evaluasi. Berikutnya terkait dengan bahan pembelajaran atau materi pembelajaran yaitu mahasiswa praktikan sudah memahami materi pelajaran yang akan diajarkan, hanya saja materi yang dipahami hanya disajikan dan dijelaskan kembali kepada peserta didik sama seperti penyajian buku paket/pegangan peserta didik sehingga tidak ada bedanya. Kata Kunci: Profil, Kompetensi profesional, Matematika, Calon guru.

Abstract

Salah satu cara untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan ekonomi masyarakat yaitu melalui menciptakan peluang usaha dalam kegiatan ekonomi pedesaan. Situasi ini mengisyaratkan pembangunan ekonomi layaknya dimulai dengan mendayagunakan sumber daya manusia dan sumber saya alam secara efisien dan efektif sehingga menghasilkan produksi yang dapat meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Desa Tambang Besi memiliki sumber daya alam berupa perkebunan kelapa sawit. Perkebunan kelapa sawit di desa Tambang Besi merupakan salah satu potensi utama desa tersebut. Luasnya perkebunan kelapa sawit yang ada di desa Tambang Besi berbanding lurus dengan banyaknya limbah yang dihasilkan seperti pelepah kelapa sawit. Limbah kelapa sawit seperti bagian batang, akar, daunnya, pelepah, dan lidi kelapa sawit dapat dimanfaatkan menjadi produk yang bernilai dan diminati pasar. Pada kegiatan PkM ini bertujuan melatih ibu-ibu PKK di desa Tambang Besi untuk memanfaatkan limbah kelapa sawit dalam hal ini lidi sawit. Pelatihan ini merupakan pelatihan untuk memberikan keterampilan kepada ibu-ibu PKK Desa Tambang Besi tentang cara menganyam lidi kelapa sawit menjadi kerajinan anyaman piring. Pertama pelatihan difokuskan pada pembuatan anyaman dasar. Selanjutnya, materi pelatihan difokuskan pada anyaman lanjutan untuk membentuk sebuah kerajinan anyaman piring, para peserta telah mampu menghasilkan anyaman secara utuh berbentuk piring. Kemudian dilakukan pendampingan dengan tujuan untuk memantapkan ketrampilan membuat anyaman dari lidi kelapa sawit dengan bentuk piring. Setelah dilakukan pendampingan peserta telah terampil membuat anyaman lidi sawit, dan menghasilkan anyaman piring yang cantik. Setiap kelompok sedikitnya menghasilkan 2 anyaman piring selama pelatihan. Dan diharapkan keterampilan ini dapat terus dikembangkan dan diajarkan kepada warga desa lainnya.

Abstract

Tujuan dari kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini adalah untuk memberikan wawasan pengetahuan mengenai sumber media interaktif, yaitu wordwall dan menerapkannya di kelas untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran. Kegiatan PkM ini diikuti oleh 26 orang guru Madrasah Aliyah Laboratorium Jambi, 5 orang dosen tadris matematika UIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi dan berkolaborasi bersama mahasiswa UIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi. Peserta merupakan guru dengan mengampu mata pelajaran yang berbeda-beda. Metode yang dilakukan pada PkM ini adalah pemaparan materi, tanya jawab, dan diskusi. Hasil dari PkM ini adalah peserta mampu membuat media pembelajaran berbasis wordwall. Diharapkan pelatihan ini dapat membantu guru mempersiapkan proses pembelajaran yang lebih baik lagi.

Abstract

Learning difficulties are also faced by mental retardation students who attend educational programs in special schools. Although learning has been adjusted to the abilities of students using a special education curriculum, taught by teachers who have a special educational background, and grouped according to specificity. Students still have difficulties, one of which is students with a specificity of mental retardation. So it is necessary to know what difficulties are faced by students with mental retardation so that these difficulties can be overcome. This study is descriptive qualitative and aims to describe the learning difficulties faced by students with mental retardation in solving the problem of original number counting operations. As for the learning difficulties studied based on Lerner's theory, namely: (1) lack of understanding of symbols, (2) place values, (3) calculations, (4) incorrect use of processes, and (5) illegible writing. The instruments used consist of written test results and interview guidelines. The research subject selection technique used is purposive sampling. Research data obtained from the results of written tests and interviews analyzed based on learning difficulty indicators. The results of the study include, (1) STr cannot determine the value of the place correctly, and does not know the concept of place value. (2) STr has difficulty in summing the position of place values in a number symbol, associating place values with number symbols, and writing the results of addition and multiplication do not correspond to place values. (3) STr has difficulty in summation operations with the technique of storing and writing numbers in summation operations with a downward arrangement that does not pay attention to the value of the place. (4) STr has difficulty in calculating the multiplication problem because it tries to memorize the multiplication

Abstract

This study aimed to develop a mathematics test instrument that assesses the critical thinking skills of hard-impaired students using a Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach in a colored ribbon context. The research employed a design research method with a development type, consisting of the preliminary and prototyping stages, including self-evaluation, expert review, and one-to-one. The instrument was developed based on Ennis’s (1985) critical thinking indicators, comprising five items adapted to the visual characteristics of Grade XI deaf students at SMALB. Content and language validation by experts confirmed the qualitative validity of the items. A limited trial (one-to-one) involving three hearing-impaired students revealed that the items were understandable and suitable, particularly due to the use of simple language, visual aids, and concrete objects. In conclusion, the critical thinking questions based on the RME approach and visual context are effective for hearing-impaired students and offer an alternative assessment tool that accommodates their sensory limitations. Abstract

Perkembangan Artificial Intelligence (AI) membuka peluang untuk meningkatkan kualitas asesmen dalam pendidikan khusus. Namun, guru Sekolah Luar Biasa (SLB) masih menghadapi kendala dalam merancang asesmen yang adaptif dan inklusif. Berdasarkan survei awal, 56,5% responden menyatakan bahwa asesmen konvensional membutuhkan waktu yang lama, 34,8% menyebutkan soal kurang sesuai dengan kemampuan siswa, serta masing-masing 26,1% responden mengalami kesulitan dalam memberikan variasi media dan melakukan koreksi serta pemberian umpan balik secara cepat. Program Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini bertujuan untuk memberdayakan guru SLB melalui pemanfaatan AI dalam mendesain asesmen adaptif dan inklusif. Kegiatan dilaksanakan melalui workshop, pelatihan praktik, dan pendampingan penggunaan perangkat berbasis AI untuk pengembangan instrumen asesmen bagi 15 guru dari enam SLB di Kota Jambi. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa 92,9% peserta menyatakan materi pelatihan sesuai dengan kebutuhan, 100% menilai materi disampaikan secara sistematis dan mudah dipahami, serta 86,7% menyatakan materi relevan dengan kebutuhan pembelajaran di SLB. Selain itu, 70% peserta berkomitmen untuk menerapkan asesmen berbasis AI dalam pembelajaran, baik segera maupun dalam 1–2 bulan ke depan. Program ini menunjukkan bahwa pemanfaatan AI efektif dalam meningkatkan kompetensi profesional guru serta mendukung pengembangan praktik asesmen inklusif di pendidikan khusus.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Lesson Study for Learning Community (LSLC) cycle within Project-Based Learning (PjBL) and to analyze its impact on student engagement and digital literacy. The low level of students ability to utilize technology for academic purposes and for developing the competencies of prospective educators constitutes the primary background of this research.A descriptive qualitative method with a descriptive-analytic approach was employed. The research subjects were third-semester students of the Tadris Mathematics Study Program at State Islamic University Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi. Data were collected through questionnaires and digital observation sheets administered via Google Forms, and product assessment rubrics in the form of English-based mathematics E-Student Worksheets (ESW). Data analysis was conducted through the stages of data reduction, data display, and inductive conclusion drawing.The results indicate that the implementation of the PlanDoSee cycle within PjBL contributed positively to the learning process. The integration of digital technology, such as the use of the Canva platform in proposal preparation and project development, was proven effective in enhancing students digital literacy, particularly in searching for, evaluating, and critically creating digital learning content. Furthermore, collaboration within a learning community fostered reflective skills, critical thinking abilities, and teamwork in producing high-quality and relevant instructional products

Abstract

Character education is widely recognized as a crucial element in enhancing educational quality in an increasingly competitive global context; however, evaluative studies that specifically investigate its implementation within the Sekolah Penggerak Program at the senior high school level remain limited. This study aims to evaluate the implementation of character education in the Sekolah Penggerak Program and to examine its outcomes and impact on students’ character development. An evaluative research approach was employed using the CIPPO model. The research was conducted at State Senior High Schools 4, 5, and 10 in Jambi City, involving principals or vice principals, teachers, and students as research participants. Data were collected through questionnaires and semi-structured interviews. Questionnaire data were analyzed using descriptive percentage analysis, while interview data were analyzed qualitatively through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results reveal that character education has been implemented in a systematic and integrated manner through school policies, instructional practices, and school culture, with most achievement indicators classified as high to very high. Furthermore, the implementation contributes positively to students’ character development, particularly in the areas of integrity, discipline, collaboration, critical thinking, and digital literacy, thereby supporting improvements in educational quality aligned with contemporary global demands.

Abstract

Critical thinking skills are essential for students, particularly in solving complex problems in Real Analysis, as these skills foster academic growth and prepare them for professional challenges. However, many students still struggle to apply these skills effectively. Through a qualitative case study involving fifth-semester students from the Tadris Mathematics program, this research explores the students’ critical thinking demonstrate in solving Real Analysis problems, alongside the factors that support or hinder this ability. Data were gathered through semi-structured interviews, observations, and assessments, focusing on students' problem-solving approaches. The results indicate that while most students (62%) exhibit moderate critical thinking skills, a significant portion (38%) face challenges in developing these abilities, with none achieving high-level proficiency. Supporting factors include cognitive ability, motivation, and a conducive learning environment, while barriers include limited understanding of basic concepts, time constraints, and psychological obstacles. Students predominantly relied on procedural methods to solve problems, hindering deeper analytical thinking. The findings highlight the need for more interactive and reflective teaching methods, such as problem-based learning and group discussions, to enhance students’ critical thinking and problem-solving skills. These insights offer valuable recommendations for improving teaching strategies in Real Analysis and contribute to advancing mathematics education in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study evaluated the quality of an English for Mathematics course administered to 35 third-semester students in the Mathematics Education Study Program at UIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi using Classical Test Theory. The 50-item multiple-choice test covered eight mathematical topics, including numbers, rational numbers, powers and roots, statistics and probability, logic, algebra, geometry, and Measurement. Item analysis examined difficulty indices, discrimination indices, reliability (KR-20), and distractor effectiveness. Results revealed excellent reliability (r₁₁ = 0.911) and balanced difficulty distribution: 36% easy items (P > 0.70), 52% moderate items (0.30-0.70), and 12% difficult items (P < 0.30). The majority of items (86%) demonstrated acceptable discrimination capacity, with 56% achieving excellent discrimination (D ≥ 0.40). However, critical concerns emerged: difficult items clustered in geometry and measurement topics (items 39-44, 48), 14% of items showed poor discrimination, and 27% of distractors proved ineffective. Findings indicate that the instrument possesses strong overall technical quality, while requiring targeted revisions to poorly discriminating items and ineffective distractors. The study recommends enhanced instructional support for geometry and measurement topics, qualitative analysis of student reasoning, and future research employing differential item functioning analysis to distinguish mathematical ability from language proficiency effects in English for Mathematics assessment. Keywords: Classical Test Theory, English for Mathematic, Evaluation
