Abstract

This research aims to conduct a comprehensive literature review on the application of dynamic system simulation as a decision-making tool. This research is motivated by the complexity of modern problems that require appropriate analytical tools to support better decision-making. The method used in this research is a systematic literature review by following structured steps to ensure that this research is comprehensive and unbiased. The results of this study indicate that dynamic systems are powerful and relevant analytical tools across sectors. With its ability to model dynamic interactions and simulate future scenarios, dynamic systems can help stakeholders make better decisions and achieve more sustainable results in facing complex challenges in the modern era. This study also identifies several challenges in the application of dynamic system simulation, such as lack of awareness of its benefits, lack of expertise in building and analyzing simulation models, as well as limited in-depth research on its application in various contexts. Therefore, further research is needed to address these challenges and improve the application of dynamic system simulation in decision making.

Abstract

Donuts are one of the most popular foods in the community that have a sweet, savory, and unique taste. One of the donut branches in this study is located in Drien Rampak Village, Johan Pahlawan, West Aceh Regency. This study used the Quality Control Circle (QCC) method with the PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Action) and 5W + 1H approaches. The data analyzed included product defects during the period June 2023 to May 2024, which included burnt color, inappropriate size, flat, and not rising. The results showed that the average defect rate reached 6% of the total monthly production. By implementing the QCC method, the main causes of defects were successfully identified using tools such as Pareto diagrams, cause-and-effect diagrams, and control charts. Improvement steps include implementing SOPs, employee training, and quality control at critical stages of production. The implementation of this method succeeded in significantly reducing the level of product defects, increasing production efficiency, and improving consumer satisfaction. This study provides a practical contribution to companies in controlling product quality and is a reference for further research related to quality management using the QCC method.

Abstract

Landslides are events that can cause both moral and non-moral losses, one of which is the damage to the Subulussalam–Lipat Kajang Road section at KM. 619+900, resulting in restricted movement and disrupted activities of the local community. This could be due to factors such as rainfall or groundwater levels. Therefore, this research was conducted with the aim of addressing the existing problems by providing appropriate and effective solutions to the landslides caused. This research uses secondary data and primary data in analyzing slope stability. The initial conditions and the slope conditions following sheet pile reinforcement are used this analysis. An application called Plaxis is required in order to examine the slope stability. This study produced a safety factor value of 1.104 under existing conditions, and after being reinforced with sheet piles, the safety factor value increased to 1.502. However, if the slope in the existing condition is subjected to an earthquake load, it will obtain a very low safety factor value of 1.044, and this requires strengthening with sheet piles and anchors to increase the safety factor value, ensuring that the slope is in a stable condition. This research provides one of the much-needed alternatives in addressing landslide issues, especially in the fields of construction and geotechnical engineering. The findings of this research can serve as a reference or guideline in the civil engineering planning process, particularly in the use of reinforcement systems such as sheet piles (retaining walls) and anchors as effective solutions.

Abstract

This Community Service Program (PKM) is implemented by Industrial Engineering Lecturers at Teuku Umar University as part of the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, with a focus on empowering the youth of Aceh to face the challenges of industrial development following the expiration of the Special Autonomy Fund (Otsus) in 2027, which has played a crucial role in economic activities in Aceh Province. The critical role of the Otsus Fund for Aceh Province must be mitigated to minimise risks after the fund's expiration. The activity themed ‘Industry 4.0 Literacy for High School Students Toward Economic Independence Post-Otsus Aceh’ aims to equip participants with the knowledge to enhance local industrial growth through a more efficient Industry 4.0 approach. Through interactive lectures, structured discussions, and question-and-answer sessions using a pretest-posttest measurement approach, the PKM team can assess improvements in understanding across three critical pillars: understanding Industry 4.0, the Aceh Special Autonomy Fund and the economy, and digital technopreneurship based on local strengths. The community service activity involved 40 students from Calang 1 Public High School, consisting of both female and male students, using a pretest and posttest approach that contained information about the three critical pillars. Technically, the questions on the pretest and posttest were made different in order to obtain objective results. The measurement of ability was carried out for 5 hours, using the Growth Rate Analysis approach, the results showed a 92% increase in learning outcomes, with the average pretest score of 38.2 improving to an average posttest score of 73.3, focusing on topics related to digital transformation and economic independence in Aceh. This programme not only fulfils educational objectives but also instils an entrepreneurial mindset based on Industry 4.0 for the next generation of Aceh.

Abstract

The role of the workforce in supporting National Development is highly important, including the workers at PT. PLN (Persero) Transmission and Substation Meulaboh. It is necessary to provide occupational safety and health protection to workers in order to increase their productivity. This study aims to explain the importance of occupational safety and health protection in controlling hazard risks in the work environment of PT. PLN (Persero) Transmission and Substation Meulaboh. The research was conducted through direct observation and interviews, then analyzed using legal theory. The results show that there are still challenges in implementing occupational safety and health at PT. PLN (Persero) Transmission and Substation Meulaboh, such as the vast working area, employee relocation, and lack of awareness regarding the importance of using personal protective equipment (PPE). These challenges must be addressed through innovations in remote supervision and awareness campaigns to improve understanding of occupational safety and health, particularly the use of PPE.
