Abstract

Flooding problem in Medaeng Village, Waru District, Sidoarjo Regency, is a crucial issue caused by changes in land use, high rainfall, and suboptimal drainage channel conditions and lack of maintenance. Initial studies indicate that drainage channels in Medaeng Village are unable to accommodate large volumes of water, exacerbated by high sediment and dense settlements that reduce infiltration areas. This study aims to analyze the drainage channel capacity based on the design flood discharge. The research method involves primary and secondary data. Analysis of maximum and average rainfall uses the Thiessen Polygon method, frequency distribution analysis uses the Log Pearson Type III method, and the Smirnov-Kolmogorov goodness-of-fit test. Rainfall intensity is calculated using the Mononobe method, design flood discharge calculation uses the rational method, and storage capacity uses the rational method. The results of the analysis show that Qhidrologi is 0.689 m3/s (2 years), 0.855 m3/s (5 years) and 0.955 m3/s (10 years). Meanwhile, the existing Qhydrology is 0.0693 m3/s (channel 1), 0.0588 m3/s (channel 2), 0.2163 m3/s (channel 3), 0.2315 m3/s (channel 4), 0.2491 m3/s (channel 5). The comparison between (Qhydrology>Qhydrology) shows that all channels 1 to 5 have a small capacity and have the potential to cause flood risk. The results of this analysis can be the main basis for technical planning to increase the capacity of the Medaeng Village channels and a reference for further studies on more comprehensive flood mitigation.

Abstract

The drainage system in Tambak Rejo Indah Housing, Waru, Sidoarjo, is currently unable to accommodate rainfall runoff effectively, resulting in frequent ponding that disrupts residents’ activities. This study aims to analyze the capacity of the existing tertiary drains across several segments up to the secondary drain and redesign the channel dimensions to meet the required design discharge. Hydrological analysis was carried out using the Log Pearson Type III method to determine the design rainfall, and the Mononobe formula was applied to calculate rainfall intensity. The design discharge was established using a 10-year return period in accordance with the Ministry of Public Works Regulation No. 12/PRT/M/2014. The capacity of the existing drains was compared with the design discharge to identify channels that are insufficient to convey the required flow. New channel dimensions were then determined using a trial-and-error approach until sizes capable of conveying the design discharge were obtained. The analysis shows that several tertiary drains and their respective segments—Tertiary 1 (segments 2–3), Tertiary 2 (segments 4–5), Tertiary 4 (segments 9–10), Tertiary 5 (segments 12–13), Tertiary 6 (segments 16–17 to 26–27), and Tertiary Nilam Barat Main Road (segments 28–31)—are unable to convey the design discharge of 0.80–1.10 m³/s, with existing capacities of only 0.35–0.52 m³/s. Through the trial-and-error process, channel dimensions capable of accommodating the 0.80 × 0.80 m design discharge were obtained, including redesigned dimensions of 0.50 m × 0.50 m for Channel 1 (segment 2–3). This redesign is expected to improve flow efficiency and reduce the potential for ponding within the residential area.

Abstract

Pertumbuhan wilayah perkotaan yang pesat di Kota Surabaya telah menyebabkan terjadinya perubahan tutupan lahan yang signifikan, khususnya pada area vegetatif. Urbanisasi yang tidak terkendali memicu alih fungsi lahan hijau menjadi kawasan terbangun, seperti permukiman, kawasan industri, dan infrastruktur. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji perubahan pada indeks kerapatan vegetasi menggunakan pendekatan Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) menggunakan data citra satelit Landsat 8 yang dianalisis melalui Sistem Informasi Geografis (SIG) pada tahun 2015 dan 2025. Analisis dilakukan dengan melakukan klasifikasi nilai NDVI dalam empat kategori: non-vegetasi (-1,00 - 0,00), vegetasi rendah (0,0–0,25), sedang (0,25–0,5), dan tinggi (> 0,5). Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa klasifikasi vegetasi rendah (NDVI 0,0–0,25) mengalami peningkatan dari 1.009,62 Ha (53,44%) pada tahun 2015 menjadi 18.908,64 Ha (57,57%) pada tahun 2025. Sebaliknya, vegetasi tinggi (NDVI > 0,5) mengalami penurunan dari 3.646,98 Ha (11,10%) menjadi 3.397,86 Ha (10,35%). Penurunan tersebut mengindikasikan terjadinya degradasi lingkungan yang signifikan akibat berkurangnya area hijau. Hasil validasi lapangan menunjukkan tingkat akurasi klasifikasi NDVI cukup tinggi dan sesuai dengan kondisi tutupan lahan aktual. Perubahan ini mengindikasikan adanya peralihan fungsi lahan secara besar-besaran dari lahan vegetatif menjadi kawasan terbangun seperti permukiman dan industri. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa perubahan tutupan lahan di Surabaya telah berdampak langsung terhadap penurunan kualitas lingkungan, termasuk meningkatnya suhu udara permukaan. Penurunan tutupan vegetasi secara langsung berdampak pada meningkatnya suhu udara dan memperburuk kondisi lingkungan perkotaan. Oleh karena itu, hasil studi ini diharapkan dapat menjadi bahan pertimbangan bagi pemerintah daerah dan perencana tata ruang dalam merumuskan kebijakan perlindungan area hijau publik dan pengendalian konversi lahan yang berkelanjutan di Kota Surabaya.

Abstract

Flooding along Karah Street, Karah District, occurs due to the insufficient capacity of the drainage channel to accommodate surface runoff. This study aims to analyze the existing capacity of the drainage system and to evaluate its adequacy against the design discharge based on hydrological data using HEC-RAS software. The research method employed is descriptive quantitative, consisting of hydrological and hydraulic analyses. The data include maximum daily rainfall, topographic conditions, and field observations of the drainage channel. The hydrological analysis determines design rainfall using the Gumbel distribution and calculates runoff discharge using the rational method. The hydraulic analysis is performed by modeling channel capacity with HEC-RAS to determine whether the cross-section can accommodate the design discharge. This study is expected to provide an overview of the current condition of the Karah drainage system and serve as a basis for planning improvements to increase channel capacity and reduce flood potential in the area.

Abstract

The recurring flooding problem in the Jl. Adityawarman area, Wonokromo District, Surabaya City, is caused by the existing drainage channels no longer being capable of accommodating stormwater runoff discharge. This study aims to analyze the design discharge of the drainage channels and evaluate the capacity of the existing drainage system in the area. The research employed a quantitative descriptive method through hydrological and hydraulic analyses. Maximum daily rainfall data for the 2016–2025 period from the two nearest rainfall stations were analyzed using the Thiessen Polygon method, Log Pearson Type III distribution, and the Rational method. The analysis results indicate design discharges of 5.244 m³/s for a 2-year return period, 6.619 m³/s for a 5-year return period, and 7.602 m³/s for a 10-year return period. The evaluation of the existing channel capacity showed that all 33 channel segments experienced overflow under all return periods, with capacities ranging from 0.36 to 4.92 m³/s. Therefore, an increase in the drainage system capacity in the Jl. Adityawarman area is required.

Abstract

Quality control review of concrete at PT. Merak Jaya Beton is important to ensure that the work carried out meets quality standards and is implemented according to existing procedures. PT. Merak Jaya Beton is one of the companies in Indonesia that produces precast concrete. At PT. Merak Jaya Beton, quality is highly regarded from trials before being taken to projects (trial mix and F’c)to construction projects (Slump tests), checking the proportions of mixtures and uniformity of basic materials at the batching plant, to hammer test checks. The process of selecting the right concrete materials can determine the amount or quantity of dependency on materials considering the quality requirements of the concrete used. Several specifications of ready-mix concrete are produced to meet the specifications demands from clients. Meanwhile, for material quantity planning based on the production volume to be implemented, it includes material needs, ordering cycles, and the amount of orders. In concrete mixtures, there are materials added during the Mixing process (admixtures), this is aimed to alter the properties of concrete to make it more suitable and cost-effective.

Abstract

Procurement of Goods and Services at PT. Sarana Remaja Mandiri still use conventional systems. By using the Mekari Journal, as a procurement process in the company, it will have a significant impact on developing more efficient procurement. Organizations across all industries rely on Procurement Management expertise to source and manage relationships with external suppliers, ensuring these needed goods are obtained at the best cost. This aims to determine differences in procurement of goods and services at PT. Sarana Remaja Mandiri. The method used is the Mekari Journal, which makes it easier to document the documentation process for procurement of goods and services at PT. Sarana Remaja Mandiri. The Mekari journal will record the entire PO process that has been issued, delivery status, and payment status. Mekari Journal makes it easier for related parties in the company to access the progress of the goods and services procurement process. After analyzing and discussing the problem, the author comes to the conclusion that in the PO (purchase order) process, Jurnal Mekari helps in the efficiency process because by using this software, the procurement party only needs to enter related data such as supplier name, PO number, item name, number of items. , etc. By filling in the data in the Mekari Journal in the Purchase Order section, a PO will automatically be issued along with a template. So, companies don't need to create templates for PO documents.

Abstract

Cone Penetration Test (CPT) is a method designed to determine and test the strength of soil layers quickly and is one of the most widely used testing methods. The aim of this research is to determine the resulting bearing capacity and determine the hard soil layers on the Padhang-Padhang campus of West Sulawesi University using the Cone Penetration Test (CPT) or Sondir field testing tool. The method used in this research is the literature study method and direct testing in the field. From the results of this test, the Cone Penetration Test (CPT) data from 1 test point was processed and analyzed using Microsoft Excel 2019 software. The results of data processing and analysis were the maximum cone pressure (qc) value and the maximum number of sticking resistances (JHP), namely 650 kg/cm at a depth of 12.60 meters and 2496.00 kg/cm² at a depth of 15.00 meters. The maximum friction ratio (Rf) of 0.11% is at a depth of 14.00 meters, while the maximum Sticking Resistance Pressure (fs) value of 110 kg/cm² is at a depth of 14.00 meters.

Abstract

The location of the road studied is the northern ring road which is still in the form of a compacted pavement layer. With this road, it can reduce traffic jams in the city and divert heavy vehicles. Field density analysis was carried out on the North Ring Road in Lamongan district using the Sand Cone method to obtain soil water content values ​​on the road. The work procedure carried out is determining the weight of the sand, the weight of the soil, the grade water, dry soil density, and field density. The testing point was carried out at 152 different points for every 25 meters, namely from STA 0+000 to STA 3+800. The results showed that the average soil water content was 19.0%, and the soil density was 96.98%. According to the requirements of SNI 03-2008-1992, the recommended soil density value is 95%. From the results of the tests that have been carried out it can be concluded that the density The soil in the field meets the specified soil density requirements because the average density in the field on road pavement is 96.98%.

Abstract

The fire suppression ability of this sprinkler installation compared to other fire extinguishing equipment has been proven to be more effective. Because the sprinkler system does not require an operator when operating, fires can be prevented earlier before causing greater losses. For this reason, the implementation of sprinkler systems in buildings is crucial. According to KEPMEN PU NO. 10/KPTS/2000, a building must have elements that can maintain structural stability to a certain level during a fire. This research was conducted directly in the field, and the necessary data was obtained independently through interviews with relevant parties. The author conducted research observations in the archive warehouse to obtain both primary and secondary data. Primary data included field documentation and calculations. Planning calculations were done directly by calculating the number of sprinklers, water requirements, and reservoirs to determine the precise needs. Based on the survey, it was found that the size of the archive warehouse is 48 x 48 m, totaling 2304 m2. The maximum distance between sprinklers used was 4.6 m. Therefore, the effective distance between sprinkler heads is 193 units. The result of the calculation for the water supply for the sprinkler system obtained 34,139.77 liters, with the total overall cost for the equipment and materials used being Rp. 63,121,925.74. Based on the data and calculation results regarding the planning and design of fire protection equipment in open active spaces adhering to the NFPA-13 Standard for the Year 2019, it is expected to provide comfort and safety against the threat of fire incidents.
