Abstract

  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi karakteristik sekolah efektif berdasarkan indikator untuk peningkatan mutu pendidikan. Berdasarkan permasalahan, hasil dan pembahasan penelitian dapat dibuat beberapa kesimpulan yang berkaitan dengan karakteristik sekolah efektif sebagai faktor determinan peningkatan mutu pendidikan pada sekolah dasar di Kota Palu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa karakteristik sekolah efektif berdasarkan indikator (1) administrasi dan manajemen sekolah untuk peningkatan mutu pendidikan; (2) kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dan kepengawasan; (3) kurikulum dan pemebelajaran ditandai dengan inovasi pembelajaran yang mampu mengoptimalkan seluruh sumber belajar yang dimiliki; (4) organisasi kelembagaan pendukung untuk peningkatan mutu pendidikan, yaitu (a) pembagian tugas dan kewenangan yang jelas, (b) ada unti penjaminan mutu; (5) sarana; (6) ketenagaan untuk peningkatan mutu pendidikan yaitu memilki jumlah guru yang cukup, memiliki kompetensi mengajar sesuai keahliannya dan berkualifikasi pendidikan minimal S1 serta memilki akta mengajar IV; (7) pembiayaan dan pendanaan pendidikan untuk peningkatan mutu pendidikan; (8) kesiswaan/peserta didik untuk peningkatan mutu pendidikan, pembinaan kecerdasan emosional dan spritual (ESQ) yang intensif; (9) peranserta masyarakatt untuk peningkatan mutu pendidikan, yaitu sekolah yang melibatkan masyarakat dalam pengembangan sekolah.

Abstract

Implementation of the decentralization of education requires principals and school supervisors to develop an effective and productive, with full independence and accountability. Education Indonesian nation today is very alarming many cases that occur in every country. The problem of education in Indonesia is increasingly complicated, multiply and complex. One of the educational problems faced by the people of Indonesia are the low quality/quality of education at all levels and educational unit, although it may have been many efforts made to improve the quality of national education, such as curriculum, national and local, improving the competence of teachers through the provision of books and learning tool as well certification programs, procurement and improved infrastructure and improving the quality of school management. Nevertheless, various indicators of the quality of education have not shown significant improvement. Some schools, especially in Palu showed an increase in the quality of education is quite encouraging, but others are still apprehensive.

Abstract

Abstract_ One of the needs of modern society today is recreation. It is evidenced by the increasing number of tourists yearly, both foreign and domestic tourists. This increasing trend needs to be responded with an increase in the provision of accommodation to cover the activities of tourists. Therefore, it is necessary to have a place or means to relax the mind or refresh that is comfortable for the community in the form of a resort. South Sulawesi is one of Indonesia's provinces rich in natural and cultural potential. One of them is Sinjai Regency which has various possibilities ranging from marine tourism, historical sites, and other natural beauty that can be a characteristic and attraction for tourists. The object of this design is a resort located in the Tongke-Tongke mangrove forest area. Hence, one of the efforts to minimize environmental damage is to design environmentally friendly buildings. Ecological architecture is an ecologically sound development that utilizes natural potential as much as possible. The ecological architectural approach applied in the area is processing gray water, using local materials, and maximizing the green regions of the site. Abstract

Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT) merupakan komponen pendukung ketahanan pangan di kota. Salah satunya yang berada di Kota Makassar, KWT Alamanda, belum memiliki pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam memanfaatkan biochar pada budidaya tanaman di lahannya. Selain itu, pengetahuan terkait manfaat mikroba yang dapat membantu dalam meningkatkan ketahanan tanaman budidaya terhadap serangan penyakit terutama Trichoderma juga masih kurang dikalangan KWT mitra ini. Tujuan pengabdian pada masyarakat ini adalah sebagai transfer pengetahuan kepada mitra tentang penggunaan Biochar dan Trichoderma pada budidaya tanaman Melon. Metode yang digunakan pada kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah penyuluhan dan pelatihan dalam bentuk pendampingan budidaya Melon pada lahan KWT mitra. Selama kegiatan pengabdian, kelompok mitra secara aktif mengikuti penyuluhan dan pelatihan.  Sebanyak 20 orang anggota KWT Alamanda mengikuti kegiatan ini. Pendampingan dilakukan pada semua tahapan budidaya melon menggunakan biochar dan Trichoderma yang dilaksanakan pada  demonstration plot sejak persiapan lahan sampai panen. Dari kegiatan pengabdian dapat disimpulkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan mitra sebesar 25% dalam melakukan budidaya tanaman melon yang diindikasikan oleh hasil pre-test dan post-test. ABSTRACT Women Farmers Group (KWT) is a supporting component of food security in the city. One of the KWTs in Makassar City, KWT Alamanda, does not have the knowledge and skills to utilize biochar in cultivating crops on their land. In addition, knowledge related to the benefits of microbes that can help increase the resistance of cultivated plants to disease attacks, especially Trichoderma, is still lacking among these KWT partners. The purpose of this community service is to transfer knowledge to partners about the use of Biochar and Trichoderma in Melon crop cultivation. The method used in this community service activity is counseling and training in the form of Melon cultivation assistance on the KWT partner's land. The partner group actively participated in counseling and training during the service activities.  A total of 20 members of KWT Alamanda participated in this activity. Assistance is carried out at all stages of melon cultivation using biochar and Trichoderma, which are carried out on demonstration plots from land preparation to harvest. From the service activities, it can be concluded that partners' knowledge and skills increased by 25% in cultivating melon plants, as indicated by the pre-test and post-test results. Abstract

Spodoptera frugiperda J.E. Smith, or fall armyworm (FAW), is a significant pest in maize plants and can reduce crop yields. Synthetic insecticides are still used to control S. frugiperda, but their use harms the environment and non-target organisms and can cause pests to become resistant. For this reason, alternative environmentally friendly technologies are needed, such as habitat management by planting insectary plants. This research aims to evaluate the potential of insectary plants to attract beneficial arthropods to suppress the S. frugiperda population and minimize the damage caused. This research activity was carried out using field research. The treatment in this research was the type of insectary plant used, and as a comparison, observations were made on land managed by farmers. The research results show that habitat management by planting insectary plants can increase the population of beneficial arthropods such as Coccinellidae, Formicidae, Miridae, Staphylinidae, and Araneidae. Increasing the population of beneficial arthropods can suppress the population of S. frugiperda so that its damage decreases and yields increase. These results show that planting insectary plants has the potential to prevent outbreaks of S. frugiperda, which can be combined with the application of other environmentally friendly technologies.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan di Desa Sukamaju, Kecamatan Tellulimpoe, Kabupaten Sinjai. Bertujuan untuk memberikan edukasi terkait Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR) serta cara pembuatannya. PGPR adalah kelompok bakteri yang hidup di rizosfer dan mampu mengolonisasi akar tanaman, serta mampu meningkatkan pertumbuhan tanaman melalui berbagai mekanisme. PGPR dapat menghasilkan senyawa antibiosis yaitu senyawa yang menghambat patogen. PGPR juga dapat berkompetisi dengan patogen dalam mendapatkan nutrisi di dalam tanah sehingga menguntungkan tanaman. PGPR mengandung mikroba bermanfaat yang dapat menyediakan unsur hara bagi tanaman, menyediakan ZPT, dan mengkolonisasi akar untuk menjaga dari serangan patogen dari mulai beberapa fase tanaman yaitu perkecambahan biji, pembibitan hingga meningkatkan hasil tanaman.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini telah dilaksanakan dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat dalam pembuatan pupuk kompos alami berbahan dasar tumbuhan daun gamal. Edukasi dan pelatihan telah diberikan kepada warga di wilayah Desa Sukamaju, Kecamatan Tellulimpoe, Kabupaten Sinjai melalui metode edukasi, pelatihan dan evaluasi. Daun gamal telah dipilih sebagai bahan utama karena kandungan nutrisinya yang tinggi dan ketersediaannya yang melimpah di lingkungan sekitar. Evaluasi keberhasilan kegiatan telah dilakukan melalui pengisian kuesioner sebelum dan setelah pelatihan. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan pemahaman masyarakat terhadap proses pembuatan pupuk kompos serta kesadaran akan pentingnya penggunaan pupuk alami

Abstract

Fruit flies (Diptera: Tephritidae) are important horticultural crop pests that cause significant losses in both crop quality and quantity. Vitex trifolia L., often considered a weed, contains bioactive compounds with potential as fruit fly repellents. This research aims to evaluate the repellent activity of V. trifolia against oriental fruit flies (Bactrocera dorsalis) at various concentrations. Laboratory experiments were conducted using a completely randomized design (CRD) with four treatments (1%, 3%, 5%) and one control, each repeated five times, Testing was carried out using an olfactometer. The results showed that all tested concentrations significantly reduced B. dorsalis visits compared to the control (0%), with the highest repellency (65.83%) observed at the 5% concentration. A negative linear relationship was established between formulation concentration and B. dorsalis activity, including visits, ovipositor punctures, and larval presence. The formulation significantly decreased oviposition punctures and larval infestation, resulting in a lower percentage of infested fruits (28.57% at 5% concentration compared to 82.86% in the control). Physical and organoleptic assessments confirmed the formulation's suitability for practical application, with a moisture content of (2.66%), a light green color, and a distinctive spicy aroma. Gas Chromatography–Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) analysis identified key bioactive compounds, including phenol, methyl β-D-glucopyranoside, vitexifolin D, and viteosin A, which are known for their repellent properties. These findings suggest that V. trifolia leaf powder is a promising, eco-friendly alternative for managing B. dorsalis infestations in horticultural crops.

Abstract

The cocoa pod borer (CPB), Conopomorpha cramerella Snellen, is one of the most significant pests of cocoa, capable of damaging pods and reducing production. Synthetic insecticides are predominantly used to control this pest; therefore, alternative methods that are environmentally friendly and do not harm non-target organisms are needed. This study aims to determine the role of beneficial insect occurrence, enhanced by insectary plants, in reducing the severity of pod damage and yield loss caused by CPB. The research was conducted by comparing two one-hectare farms, one with and one without insectary plants. The beneficial insects observed included pollinators, predators, parasitoids, decomposers, and herbivores. Their populations were higher on the farm with insectary plants than on the farm without, with pod damage severity of 16.8% and 32.8%, respectively. These data indicate that cultivating insectary plants on cocoa farms can aid in pest management, particularly for CPB, and has the potential to be implemented on a larger scale, as CPB attack intensity was lower on the farm with insectary plants.

Abstract

Buah naga merupakan komoditas hortikultura yang melimpah di Desa Sukamaju, namun potensi bagian kulitnya belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal dan hanya menjadi limbah. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengedukasi masyarakat dalam mengolah kulit buah naga menjadi sirup sebagai upaya mengurangi limbah dan meningkatkan nilai ekonomi lokal. Program dilaksanakan melalui metode sosialisasi dan workshop dengan sasaran utama Ibu-Ibu PKK Desa Sukamaju. Proses pembuatan sirup melibatkan bahan alami seperti kulit buah naga, gula pasir, lemon, dan daun pandan, namun masih menghadapi kendala dalam hal ketahanan produk. Respon masyarakat sangat positif, dan kegiatan ini dinilai mampu membuka peluang usaha baru berbasis potensi lokal. Program ini diharapkan dapat dikembangkan lebih lanjut dengan dukungan pemerintah untuk memperluas pemasaran dan meningkatkan daya saing produk.
