Abstract

Muscle abnormalities affect the functions of sucking, chewing, and swallowing in children with cerebral palsy. Drooling is another issue that emerges. Drooling is caused by a lack of strength in the muscles of the mouth. The goal of this study at the Asya Therapy Center clinic in Mojokerto was to see how oral motor stimulation affected children with cerebral palsy's capacity to control drooling. The participants in this study were 22 children with cerebral palsy. Purposive sampling was used to choose the sample. The data for this study came from observation sheets that were given to all of the participants, and the data was then processed with the SPSS programme. The paired sample t-test yielded a value of 0.001, indicating that offering oral motor stimulation to children with cerebral palsy at the Asya Therapy Center clinic in Mojokerto has an effect on increasing the ability to regulate drooling. The researcher expects that the findings of this study can be utilised as a reference and reference for the chosen physiotherapy strategy to help children with cerebral palsy control their drooling.Keywords: cerebral palsy; drooling; oral motor stimulationABSTRAKAnak dengan cerebral palsy sering mengalami gangguan otot, yang mengubah fungsi mengisap, mengunyah dan menelan. Masalah lain yang muncul adalah drooling. Drooling disebabkan karena adanya kelemahan dan tidak bekerjanya otot area mulut. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian oral motor stimulation terhadap peningkatan kemampuan control drooling pada anak dengan kondisi cerebral palsy di Klinik Asya Therapi Center Mojokerto. Terdapat 22 anak dengan cerebral palsy yang menjadi sampel dalam penelitian ini. Sampel dipilih menggunakan metode purposive sampling. Data dalam penelitian ini diperoleh dari lembar observasi yang telah dibagikan kepada semua responden, kemudian data diolah menggunakan program SPSS. Hasil paired sample t-test menunjukkan nilai 0,001 yang menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh pemberian oral motor stimulation terhadap peningkatan kemampuan control drooling pada anak dengan kondisi cerebral palsy di klinik Asya Therapy Center Mojokerto. Peneliti mengharapkan hasil dari penelitian ini dapat menjadi acuan dan rujukan metode fisioterapi terpilih untuk mengatasi permasalahan control drooling pada anak dengan cerebral palsy.Kata kunci: cerebral palsy; drooling; oral motor stimulation

Abstract

ABSTRAK Pendahuluan: Osteoarthritis merupakan gejala yang sering datang pada orang lanjut usia dengan kondisi progresif kronis yang dapat menimbulkan gangguan gerak dan dapat mengganggu aktifitas sehari-hari. Isometric exercise merupakan salah satu metode penanganan non operatif dalam menurunkan nyeri serta memperbaiki kemampuan fungsional pasien Osteoarthritis. Latihan ini sangat membantu untuk mengurangi nyeri sendi serta dapat meningkatkan fungsional pada penderita Osteoarthritis nyeri akut dan nyeri kronis Metodologi: Jenis penelitian ini ialah quasi eksperimen dengan menggunakan One Group Pretest and Posttest design. Jumlah populasi 30 orang dengan diagnosa osteoarthritis yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi serta eksklusi. Pengambilan sampling secara acak menggunakan sampel pada penelitian ini yaitu semua penderita osteoarthritis primer berusia 50 tahun ke atas yang berjumlah 15 orang dengan jenis kelamin laki-laki serta perempuan Hasil: Isometric exercise diberikan dua kali seminggu selama empat mingggu dan knee pain diukur dengan alat ukur VAS (Visual Analogue Scale). Dengan uji Wilcoxon diperoleh nilai median pre 6,53 dan post 4,40 dengan selisih 2,13. Sehingga nilai P sebanyak 0,000<0,05 Maka hasil yang didapat dalam penelitian menunjukkan adanya pengaruh pemberian isometric exercise terhadap penurunan knee pain pada kondisi osteoarthritis primer di poli Fisioterapi RSUD dr. H. Moh. Anwar Sumenep. Diskusi: Terdapat pengaruh pemberian isometric exercise terhadap penurunan knee pain. Sehingga para penderita osteoarthritis primer diharapkan dapat melakukan isometric exercise secara mandiri sehingga dapat mengurangi nyeri lutut yang dialami oleh penderita. Kata Kunci: Isometric exercise, knee pain, osteoarthritis primer.

Abstract

This study aims to observe changes in functional activity ability in cervical root syndrome (CRS) patients after neurodynamic mobilization. Pre-test and post-test quasi-experimental research design using neck disability index (NDI) measurements before and after 6 treatments for 3 weeks. Using a non-probability sampling technique, it was conducted on 20 samples of men and women in the 40-45 year age group.This study obtained a median value of 63.00 on NDI measurements before neurodynamic mobilization and a median value of 22.00 on NDI measurements after neurodynamic mobilization showed a significant value of the Wilcoxon test of 0.00.Neurodynamic mobilization technique is effective in improving functional activity ability in CRS patients.

Abstract

Objective:  Dynamic balance is an ability that must be possessed by football players, especially in terms of improving player performance during matches and reducing the risk of injury to the lower limbs. One way to improve dynamic balance is with core stability exercise.Methods:  This study is a pre-experimental study to determine whether there is an increase in dynamic balance by providing core stability exercise to football players. The research design used in this study was a one group pretest – posttest design. This research was conducted on football players aged 12 -15 years at SSB Syarekah Jaya. Core stability exercise was given 12 times, and dynamic balance was measured using the Y balance test. Measurement of dynamic balance with the Y Balance Test is carried out in three different directions, namely towards the front (anterior), towards the back middle (posteromedial), and towards the back and outer side (posterolateral). The core stability exercises given are plank, side plank, curl up and bridging. The frequency of exercise given is 3 times a week for four weeks with an intensity of 10 repetitions per set, and held for 5 seconds. Posttest data retrieval was carried out again for all players after undergoing core stability exercise training 12 times using the Y Balance Test..Results:   The composite value of Y Balance Test on posttest results after giving 12 times of core stability exercise is quite significant compared to the results of pretest before giving core stability exercise. The data was tested for normality using the Saphiro-Wilk test with the results obtained were P>0.05, which means the data were normally distributed. The researcher then tested the hypothesis using paired t-test and got P <0.05 and the IK did not pass zero, which means that there is a difference in the average composite value of balance before and after giving core stability exercise.Conclusion: The results obtained in the study showed an increase in dynamic balance in football players after being given core stability exercise.

Abstract

Osteoarthritis (OA) is a progressive disease that damages the knee joint due to aging. One of the physiotherapy interventions is TENS and closed kinetic chain exercises which are believed to reduce pain. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the combination of these two interventions in reducing pain. Types of research  A quasi-experimental design with a one-group pre-post test conducted during September-October 2021 at Bangil General Hospital with a population of 42 people who were taken randomly by meeting the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The number of samples as many as 30 people using the visual analogue scale (VAS) as a measuring tool. Administration of TENS with a frequency of 5 Hz, intensity 30 mA, time 20 minutes, and a dose of 3 sets of CKC exercise, 10 repetitions/set with 15 seconds of rest/set for 4 weeks with 2 visits per week. The hypothesis test used by Wilcoxon was obtained and the median pre and post values were 6.00 and 5.00, respectively, with a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05). It was concluded that the combination of Transcutaneous Electrical Nerves Stimulation (TENS) and Closed Kinetic Chain (CKC) was effective in reducing pain in cases of knee osteoarthritis.Keywords: osteoarthritis; transcutaneous electrical nerves stimulation ; closed kinetic chainABSTRAK Osteoarthritis (OA) adalah penyakit progresif yang merusak sendi lutut akibat faktor penuaan. Salah satu intervensi fisioterapi adalah TENS dan latihan closed kinetic chain yang diyakini dapat mereduksi nyeri. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui efek kombinasi kedua intervensi ini dalam menurunkan nyeri. Jenis penelitian quasi eksperimen dengan desain pre-post test one group yang dilakukan selama bulan September-Oktober2021 di RSU Bangil dengan populasi 42 orang yang diambil dengan cara acak dengan memenuhi kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi. Jumlah sampel sebanyak 30 orang dengan menggunakan visual analogue scale (VAS) sebagai alat ukur. Pemberian TENS dengan frekuensi 5 Hz, intensitas 30mA, waktu 20 menit, dan dosis latihan CKC sebanyak 3 set, 10 kali repetisi/set dengan jeda istirahat 15 detik/set selama 4 minggu dengan 2x kujungan perminggu. Uji hipotesis yang digunakan Wilcoxon dan diperoleh hasil nilai median pre dan post masing-masing 6.00 dan 5.00, dengan nilai signifikansi 0.000 (<0.05). Maka disimpulkan bahwa kombinasi Transcutaneous Electrical Nerves Stimulation (TENS) dan Closed Kinetic Chain (CKC) berpengaruh pada menurunkan nyeri pada kasus knee osteoarthritis.Kata kunci: osteoarthritis; transcutaneous electrical nerves stimulation; closed kinetic chain

Abstract

Fleksibilitas otot hamstring adalah salah satu aspek yang penting pada pemain sepak bola terutama pada gerakan menendang. Akibat kurangnya fleksibilitas hamstring dapat menyebabkan terjadinya cedera. Contract relax stretching merupakan salah satu manajemen Fisioterapi dalam upaya pengembangan, memelihara dan memulihkan gerak pada atlet. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui efektivitas contract relax stretching pada pemain sepak bola usia 12-14 tahun. Populasi  studi ini sebanyak 50 orang dengan metode purposive sampling diperoleh  30 sampel yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi dan ekslusi. Studi ini menggunakan alat ukur sit and reach test. Dengan desain penelitian quasi eksperimen dan metode pre-post satu kelompok. Dosis contract relax stretching   sebanyak 3 kali seminggu selama sebulan dengan dosis empat kali repetisi, pemberian stretching selama 10 detik, 3 set dan jeda istirahat 5 detik. Uji hipotesis Wilcoxon diperoleh nilai median pre 4.00 dan post 5.00 dengan selisih nilai 1.00. Sehingga, nilai P sebanyak  0.00 <0.05. Maka ditarik kesimpulan pada pemberian contract relax stretching pemain sepak bola usia 12-14 tahun secara signifikan mengalami peningkatan fleksibilitas hamstring.

Abstract

Objective: to identify effect of exercise on elbow vertical scapular push up on abnormal scapular position.Methods: This research method used is a quasi-experimental design with a single group pre and post test. The subject is a patient with shoulder complaints in an independent physiotherapy practice, the research time is September until October 2021.Results: With the hypothesis if the p-value <0.05, then H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. This means that there is an effect of changes in the position of the scapula in giving the On Elbow Vertical Scapular Push up exercise technique.Conclusion:  The specific form of exercise On Elbow vertical scapular push up shows optimal results, this can be seen in changes/improvements in the position of the scapula.

Abstract

Low Back Pain can be caused by a series of daily routines regardless of body position. The method of physiotherapy intervention in non-specific cases of low back pain is the provision of muscle energy technique and strain counterstrain. The purpose of this study was to determine the comparison of giving muscle energy technique and strain counterstrain to increase joint range of motion in cases of low back pain. The research design used was a randomized pretest–posttest control group. The research subjects were 40 respondents who were selected by purposive sampling technique. The movements assessed were lateral flexion and extension. The range of motion of the lumbar joints measured using an inclinometer, includes the extent of motion of the lumbar extension and lateral flexion. If the joint range of motion of the lumbar extension and lateral lumbar flexion is <25°, it is said to be limited. Statistical tests were performed using the Mann-Whitney U test. In the lateral flexion group with muscle energy technique intervention, p = 0.00, while in the extension group with muscle energy technique intervention, p = 0.00. In the lateral flexion group with the intervention of a counterstrain strain, p = 0.00 was obtained, while in the extension group with the intervention of a counterstrain strain, it was obtained p = 0.00. The results of the difference test between the muscle energy technique intervention and the counterstrain strain on lateral flexion movements showed p = 0.506-0.863, while the results of the differences in muscle energy technique and counterstrain strain in lateral movements showed p = 0.014-0.534, which means there is no difference between muscle therapy energy tecnique and strain counterstrain in lateral flexion and extension movements. Intervention of muscle energy technique and strain counterstrain can significantly increase joint range of motion.Keywords: low back pain; muscle energy technique; counterstrain ABSTRAK Low back pain dapat disebabkan oleh rangkaian rutinitas sehari-hari tanpa memperhatikan posisi tubuh. Metode intervensi fisioterapi pada kasus non spesifik low back pain adalah pemberian muscle energy tecnique dan strain counterstrain. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perbandingan pemberian muscle energy technique dan strain counterstrain pada peningkatan luas gerak sendi pada kasus nyeri punggung bawah. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah randomized pretest–posttest control group. Subyek penelitian adalah 40 responden yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling. Gerakan yang dinilai adalah lateral fleksi dan ekstensi. Luas gerak sendi lumbal yang diukur menggunakan inclinometer, mencakup luas gerak ekstensi dan lateral fleksi lumbal. Jika luas gerak sendi ekstensi lumbal dan lateral fleksi lumbal <25°, maka dikatakan terbatas. Uji statistik dilakukan menggunakan uji Mann-Whitney U. Pada kelompok lateral fleksi dengan intervensi muscle energy tecnique didapatkan p = 0,00, sedangkan pada kelompok ekstensi dengan intervensi muscle energy tecnique didapatkan p = 0,00. Pada kelompok lateral fleksi dengan intervensi strain counterstrain didapatkan p = 0,00, sedangkan pada kelompok ekstensi dengan intervensi strain counterstrain didapatkan p = 0,00. Hasil uji perbedaan antara intervensi muscle energy tecnique dan strain counterstrain pada gerakan lateral fleksi menunjukkan p = 0,506-0,863, sedangkan hasil uji perbedaan muscle energy tecnique dan strain counterstrain pada gerakan lateral menunjukkan p = 0,014-0,534, yang artinya tidak terdapat perbedaan antara terapi muscle energy tecnique dan strain counterstrain pada gerakan lateral fleksi maupun ekstensi. Intervensi muscle energy tecnique maupun strain counterstrain secara signifikan dapat meningkatkan luas gerak sendi.Kata kunci: low back pain; muscle energy tecnique; strain counterstrain

Abstract

Virtual education is an internet-based distance medicine that can be an effective and cost-effective alternative during the COVID-19 pandemic. The purpose of this study was to determine the benefits of virtual education on knee osteoarthritis after 6 interventions. This study is a quasi-experimental that compares a group of patients with knee osteoarthritis before and after being given virtual education described through a zoom meeting. The population of this study was 28 respondents at the Physio Move Care clinic during May-July 2021. The sample selection technique was purposive sampling, so that 20 patients were obtained. Virtual education is carried out by physiotherapists and respondents with 6 treatments for 2 weeks with physiotherapist supervision through zoom meetings. By using the Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC) in the pre-virtual education phase, the median value = 3.00 and in the post-intervention phase = 1.50. Wilcoxon test results showed p value = 0.001. It was concluded that virtual education was effective in reducing pain and increasing daily living activities in patients with knee osteoarthritis.Keywords: virtual education; osteoarthritis; Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC)ABSTRAK Edukasi virtual merupakan pengobatan jarak jauh berbasis internet yang dapat menjadi alternatif yang efektif dan hemat biaya di masa pendemi COVID-19. Penelitian ini merupakan kuasi eksperimen yang membandingkan satu kelompok penderita knee osteoarthritis sebelum dan sesudah diberikan edukasi virtual yang dijabarkan lewat zoom meeting. Populasi penelitian ini adalah 28 responden di klinik Physio Move Care selama bulan Mei-Juli 2021. Adapun teknik pemilihan sampel adalah purposive sampling, sehingga diperoleh 20 pasien. Edukasi virtual dilakukan oleh fisioterapis dan responden dengan 6 kali treatment selama 2 minggu dengan pengawasan fisioterapis melalui zoom meeting. Dengan menggunakan Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarhtritis Index (WOMAC) pada fase sebelum virtual edukasi diperoleh nilai median = 3,00 dan pada fase sesudah intervensi = 1,50.
