Abstract

Introduction: The increased anxiety of pregnant women in the era of the COVID-19 pandemic is due to a lack of knowledge. Increased knowledge of pregnant women can be provided through education using booklets and tele-education media. Purpose: This study aims to determine the difference in improving the knowledge and anxiety of pregnant women through the provision of Tele-education and booklets during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: This study used a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest approach with a control group design. The number of samples used was 30 respondents in the tele-education group and 30 respondents in the booklet group, with consecutive sampling techniques. Knowledge was measured using a questionnaire with right or wrong answer choices, while anxiety was measured using the Zung Self-rating Anxiety Scale (ZSAS) questionnaire. Both of these questionnaires have good validity and reliability. The Whitney test analyzed data. Results: The study found the use of tele-education media (p=0.0001) and booklets (p=0.015) had an effect on increasing the knowledge of pregnant women. The use of booklet media is more effective (rank mean = 36.77) than Tele-education media (rank mean = 24.23) to increase knowledge in pregnant women (p=0.004). Anxiety of pregnant women can be reduced using tele-education media (p=0.007) and booklet media during the COVID-19 pandemic (p=0.015). There is no difference (more effective) in the use of Tele-education media and booklets on reducing anxiety of pregnant women (p=0.195). Conclusion: Tele-education can be utilized as an alternative antenatal service during and after the COVID-19 pandemic to increase knowledge and other services for pregnant women and health workers.

Abstract

Background of the study: This research is motivated by the lack of variety in the use of educational games as engaging learning media for early childhood. Conventional methods are still widely used and often fail to optimally support cognitive development in young learners. Therefore, it is necessary to introduce innovative game-based tools that can enhance children's thinking abilities in a playful and developmentally appropriate way. One such tool is the Lotto Wabena game, designed to stimulate children's memory, attention, categorization, and logical reasoning. Aims and scope of paper: The aim of this study is to develop the Lotto Wabena game as a learning medium to improve cognitive development in children aged 5–6 years. The research is limited to learners at Al Husnayaini Kindergarten, Kubang Raya District, Pekanbaru, and focuses on the tool’s feasibility, quality, and effectiveness. Methods: This is a research and development (R&D) study using the Borg and Gall model. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. Validation was conducted by content and media experts. The data, mainly qualitative, were analyzed using assessment criteria to evaluate the developed game. Results: Material expert validation showed a score of 87.5% (very feasible), while media expert validation reached 91.62%. Cognitive improvement was evident, with pre-test scores averaging 46.63% and post-test scores reaching 91.35%. A small group trial yielded a score of 94.28%, indicating a strong positive impact on cognitive development. Contribution: This study provides a validated, effective game-based learning tool that supports cognitive growth in early childhood and offers practical implications for educators and curriculum developers.

Abstract

Kebonagung Village is one of villages in Tegalrejo Subdistrict, Magelang Regency, Central Java Province, covering an area of approximately 412 hectares consisting of agricultural land, plantations, and residential areas. Most of the population works in the agricultural and plantation sectors, as well as developing a variety of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSME). According to Magelang Regency's Progress Data, there are 93 active MSME in Kebonagung Village operating in various fields, ranging from culinary, handicrafts, to agricultural product processing. However, the documentation of MSMEs has not been fully digitized, making it less supportive of village planning and the promotion of local potential. Through the 2025 Thematic Community Service Program (KKN), a UMKM mapping activity using Google My Maps was conducted. The data collection was carried out door-to-door by KKN students to obtain accurate and comprehensive data. The information collected includes the geographical location of MSME, business categories, products produced, prices, owner names, and product photo documentation. This data is then processed and visualized in the form of a digital map that can be accessed online, making it easier for village governments and business actors to promote, manage data, and plan village economic development. The methods used in this activity combine field surveys, primary data collection and digital data processing. The outcome of this activity is a digital map of SMEs in Kebonagung Village, which is expected to enhance the visibility of local products, expand marketing networks, and serve as a replicable model for other villages in Magelang Regency.
