Abstract

Chitosan can be obtained from chitin isolated from shrimp waste through the process of deacetylation of chitin. Chitosan can be used as a patch base material because of its biocompatibility and biodegradability, and has antibacterial activity. The combination of Chitosan and Aloe vera extracts may be useful in patch dosage forms as wound dressings that have antiinfective activity. The research methods was laboratory experimental which consists of : chitosan was obtained from shell waste sequentially by deproteinisation, demineralisation, and deacetylation processes, and analyzed its characteristic, respectivel; Aloe vera gel was extraction by maceration methods using ethanol as solvent; patches were formulated using 2 % chitosan in 1.5 % glacial acetic acid,  1.6 %  Aloe vera extracts and 10 % glycerin and evaluated its physical propoperties,  skin iritation test, and antibacterial test against S.aureus. The results showed that percentage yield of chitosan was 32.67%, with characteristics; Its viscosity 93.33 cps, pH 4, 30 % deacetylation degree.  Percentage yield of Aloe vera  extract was 22.73%, containing acemannan, and had antibacterial activity against S.aureus.  The result of patch evaluation showed that the thickness of patch was 0.45 mm, 114 times folding endurance, moisture uptake of 45.03%, moisture content of 23.64%, safe to use, and  diameter of inhibition zone was 6.39 mm against S.aureus. So, combination of Aloe vera and Chitosan from shrimp shell as patch may use as antiinfection wound healing.  Keywords : Aloe vera L.; chitosan; wound dressing; patch; shrimp shell waste

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa menggunakan langkah-langkah IDEAL. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis deskriptif. Subjeknya adalah 6 (enam) siswa kelas X IPS 2 SMA Negeri 8 Malang, enam siswa tersebut terdiri dua siswa dengan kemampuan tinggi, dua siswa dengan kemampuan sedang, dan dua siswa dengan kemampuan rendah. Data diperoleh melalui tes dan wawancara. Tes terdiri dari tiga soal terkait materi sistem persamaan linier tiga variabel. Langkah-langkah analisis data yaitu: 1) reduksi data; 2) penyajian data, dan 3) penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa yaitu siswa dengan kemampuan tinggi sudah mampu memecahkan masalah menggunakan langkah-langkah IDEAL, siswa dengan kemampuan sedang kurang teliti dalam tahap melihat kembali dan mengevaluasi hasil, siswa dengan kemampuan rendah mengalami kesulitan dalam tahap melaksanakan strategi dan melaksanakan hasil dan melihat kembali dan mengevaluasi hasil. Analysis of Students' Mathematical Problem Solving Ability Using IDEAL Steps Abstract The purpose of this study is to analyze the mathematical problem-solving skills of students using IDEAL. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive type. The subjects are six students of class X Social 2 State Senior High School 8 Malang. Six students consisted of two students with high ability, two with moderate ability, and two with low ability—data obtained through tests and interviews. The test consists of a three matter-related material linear equations system of three variables. Data analysis steps are 1) data reduction, 2) data presentation, and 3) conclusion. The result of the research shows that the development of students' mathematical problem-solving ability, i.e., students with high ability have been able to solve the problem using IDEAL steps, students with ability are being less conscientious in the process of reviewing and evaluating outcomes, students with low ability have difficulty in implementing strategy and executing results and reviewing and evaluating results.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis kemampuan pemecahan masalah pada materi sistem persamaan linear dua variable siswa kelas VIII SMPN 21 Mataram. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas VIII SMPN 21 Mataram tahun ajaran 2022/2023 yang berjumlah 21 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data yaitu dengan tes berupa soal uraian. Setelah data terkumpul, maka dilakukan analisis jawaban siswa. Nilai kemampuan pemecahan masalah yang diperoleh dari perhitungan kemudian dikategorikan. Berdasarkan analisis jawaban siswa terdapat 1 siswa kemampuan pemecahan masalahnya cukup, 11 orang berkemampuan kurang, dan 9 orang lainnya berkemampuan sangat kurang. kurangnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal sistem persamaan linear dua variabel yang salah satu faktornya yaitu kurangnya pemahaman siswa tentang materi sistem penyelesaian linier dua variabel. Analysis of Problem Solving Ability in the Material of Two Variable Linear Equation System of Grade VIII Students of SMPN 21 Mataram Abstract The purpose of this study was to analyze problem-solving abilities in the matter of a system of linear equations with two variables for class VIII students of SMPN 21 Mataram. This research is a descriptive study using qualitative and quantitative approaches. The subjects in this study were class VIII students at SMPN 21 Mataram for the 2022/2023 academic year, which consisted of 21 students. The data collection technique is a test in the form of description questions. After the data is collected, an analysis of student answers is carried out. The value of problem solving ability obtained from the calculation is then categorized. Based on the analysis of student answers, there was 1 student with sufficient problem solving ability, 11 people with less ability, and 9 other people with very poor ability. the lack of students' problem-solving abilities in solving two-variable linear equation system problems, one of the factors is the lack of students' understanding of the two-variable linear solution system material.

Abstract

Early detection of developmental disorders in early childhood is a strategic step in supporting optimal child development. This study aims to describe the implementation of early detection of developmental disorders at RA Darul Ihsan NW Toya. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation and in-depth interviews with teachers, parents, and health centre staff. The results indicate that teachers have conducted structured observations in monitoring children's growth and development. However, parental participation remains limited and has not been optimally integrated. Collaboration with the health centre is carried out through health education and examinations, although it is not yet systematic. The conclusion of this study emphasizes the importance of collaboration between educational institutions, families, and health services. Practical implications include the need to enhance teachers' capacity, educate parents, and establish a sustainable cooperation system. It is recommended to develop a community-based early detection programme integrated into early childhood education.

Abstract

Currently, the antibacterial research is increasingly promoted primarily from natural materials, due to the increasing number of pathogenic bacteria that have been resistant to existing antibiotics. One of the pathogenic bacteria that has been much resistant to antibiotics is Staphylococcus aureus. Rosella calyx (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.) and chitosan are known to have antibacterial activity. The aim of this study to find out the antibacterial synergy of the roselle calyx extract and chitosan against. S.aureus ATCC 33592. Rosella calyx was extracted by maceration using 80 % ethanol, while chitosan is obtained from deasetilation chitin of shrimp husk. Test antibacterial synergism using checkboard assay method by calculating the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) using microdilution assay. The results showed minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) value of roselle calyx extract and chitosan were 1250 ppm and 50 ppm, respectively. MIC value of rosella calyx extract in the presence of chitosan was 625 ppm, while the value of MIC chitosan in the presence of rosella calyx extract was < 0.19 ppm. Fractional Inhibition Concentration Index (FICI) was < 0.5 which concluded that the combination of roselle calyx extract with chitosan has a synergistic antibacterial effect on S.aureus ATCC 33592.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Literasi label makanan kemasan merupakan kemampuan penting bagi pasien diabetes mellitus dalam memilih makanan yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan gizi mereka. Namun, belum diketahui secara pasti bagaimana keterkaitan antara literasi label makanan kemasan dengan keterampilan pengelolaan makanan (food skill) pada pasien diabetes mellitus di Sleman. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara literasi label makanan kemasan dengan food skill pada pasien diabetes mellitus di Sleman. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan desain observasional dengan pendekatan cross-sectional. Sampel terdiri dari 100 pasien diabetes mellitus berusia 21–60 tahun yang menjalani rawat jalan di beberapa puskesmas dan rumah sakit di Sleman. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara total sampling. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner literasi label makanan kemasan dan food skill yang telah teruji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan uji chi square. Hasil: Mayoritas responden memiliki literasi label makanan kemasan yang baik (79%), namun sebagian besar memiliki food skill yang kurang (21%). Hasil uji chi square menunjukkan terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara literasi label makanan kemasan dengan food skill pada pasien diabetes mellitus (p = 0,003). Kesimpulan: Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara literasi label makanan kemasan dengan food skill pada pasien diabetes mellitus di Sleman. Peningkatan literasi label makanan kemasan perlu diikuti dengan pelatihan food skill agar pasien mampu mengelola makanan dengan baik sesuai kebutuhan gizi.
